I am so excited.....During the Feast of Dedication (Hanukkah) Yeshua walked into the temple and announced: "I and My Father are one" Amen! We are going to: decorate, sing songs, fellowship, and, play games this evening. (***The Feast of Dedication doesn't start until the end of November but I am ready to make this home festive!) Hanukkah/ The Feast of Dedication is NOT one of the Appointed Times, we are commanded to keep. Yet, we find Yeshua in the Temple during the Feast of Dedication/Hanukkah. John made it clear that Yeshua made the trip to the Temple in winter during the Feast (John 10:22) about 3 days of travel time to make that trip. This Feast is in commemoration of a historical event, which points to Yeshua as the ultimate victor over evil. Yeshua was asked against the backdrop of this Feast if He was the Messiah. Yeshua chose this time to announce that He is the light of the world, which is the major theme of The Feast of Dedication, also known as the Festival of Lights. Christmas and/or Easter are an attempt to replace the Appointed Times with Pagan practices and symbolism. They are the syncretism of pagan traditions, themes, and images with Biblical events. Hanukkah is a commemoration of a historical event, similar to celebrating Thanksgiving or Independence Day. One must not include pagan images used in worshipping false gods (sun worship) or syncretize/harmonize in any of our celebrations. Mark 7:7-9 states that we are not to disregard the Commandments for our traditions. Don't ignore or replace the LORD’s Appointed Times with pagan days and traditions, "They worship Me in vain; they teach as doctrine the precepts of men. Amen "For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness," is the One who has shone in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Messiah." 2 Cor 4:6 TLV Blessings and Shalom in the Name of Yeshua Messiah!
