Hello friends and scattered family in Messiah! ~~ A note on how we can LIMIT what God *will* do~~ >> Not what He CAN do – but what He WILL do.<<
Yes, again and again they tested God, And LIMITED (pained) the Holy One of Israel. They did not remember His hand… Ps. 78:40-42 God’s perfect will for the children of Israel was for them to dwell in the Promised Land… However due to their UNBELIEF they limited the Holy One of Israel and dwelt in the wilderness for 40 years!
Whereas by edification, speaking Yah's blessings and showing love will bear positive results-growth-and confidence.
You are responsible for YOUR words and they are powerful. Will you have a heart & household around Yah-centered words & thoughts of confirmation and faith or words of distrust, and negativity?? -Yah expects that His people operate in faith, & trust towards Him. Your words are an expression of your thoughts and your thoughts are an expression of your heart. IE: If your heart & soul line up with the Word of Yah than so will your thoughts and then your words- & then your results will line up with your words of faith and produce an outward expression of an inward reality which we call the opportunity to "witness...." so another person can see how good God really is. AMEN! Think about this practically: how often have words destroyed the confidence and self-identity of children either by abusive parents or bullies? Words + negative actions can destroy a: marriage, family, or just about any relationship. The result can be emotionally devastating, but it can manifest into a physical sin where those children/people eventually respond with violence. All because people do not hold to and obey the Word. I pray that this short study blesses you and gives you a fresh outlook on the influence of your words. How, they grow from the intentions of your heart and how obedience to YHWH impacts those around you. Hello friends and scattered family in Messiah! The 7th day Sabbath is a sign or seal of Yah revealing His authority as the Creator of the heavens and the earth. By keeping or setting apart the Sabbath, we are proclaiming Adonai the One True God. It is not a Jewish thing as it was instituted by Adonai at creation; 2300 years before there was a Jew: God completed--on the seventh day—His work that He made, and He ceased—on the seventh day—from all His work that He made. Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, for on it He ceased from all His work that God created for the purpose of preparing. Genesis 2:2-3 TLV
So Bnei-Yisrael is to keep the Shabbat, to observe the Shabbat throughout their generations as a >>perpetual covenant. << It is a sign between Me and Bnei-Yisrael forever, for in six days Adonai made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day He ceased from work and rested.’” When He had finished speaking with him on Mount Sinai, He gave the two tablets of the Testimony to Moses—tablets of stone, written by the finger of God. Exo. 31: 16-18
I say then, they did not stumble so as to fall, did they? May it never be! But by their false step salvation has come to the Gentiles, to provoke Israel to jealousy. Now if their transgression leads to riches for the world, and their loss riches for the Gentiles, then how much more their fullness! But I am speaking to you who are Gentiles. Insofar as I am an emissary to the Gentiles, I spotlight my ministry if somehow I might provoke to jealousy my own flesh and blood and save some of them. For if their rejection leads to the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead? If the firstfruit is holy, so is the whole batch of dough; and if the root is holy, so are the branches. But if some of the branches were broken off and you--being a wild olive—were grafted in among them and became a partaker of the root of the olive tree with its richness, do not boast against the branches. But if you do boast, it is not you who support the root but the root supports you. You will say then, “Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in.” True enough. They were broken off because of unbelief, and you stand by faith. Romans 11: 11-20 TLV
Shabbat was a gift given to believing Israel as a perpetual covenant, forever. To which, as believers in Yeshua we have been grafted in and "become a partaker of the root." There are natural born descendants of Israel that have been broken off because of unbelief and refused Messiah. "You will say then, “Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in.” True enough. They were broken off because of unbelief, and you stand by faith. " Rom 11:20 Not all of the descendants were "broken off" but some and gentiles were by faith permitted to be grafted in. This is not a new thing though as we see from Isaiah 56:6-7 TLV Also the foreigners who join themselves to Adonai, to minister to Him, and to love the Name of Adonai, and to be His servants— all who keep from profaning Shabbat, and hold fast to My covenant— these I will bring to My holy mountain, and let them rejoice in My House of Prayer..... The door to relationship with Abba Yah (God) has always been open to anyone (stranger and foreigner)willing to: repent, join to Him, love Him, serve Him, and keep His commands, holding fast to His covenant. Shabbat was made for man as an opportunity to rest and set aside dedicated time for: God, family, friends, and rest. Shabbat arrives at sunset every 6th day (taking us into the 7th day), week after week, month after month, year after year. That sunset-to-sunset timeframe set apart by the King of the Universe happens whether we choose to step into it or not. Where and how we choose to spend that time is up to us. And our choice will bear fruit: life or death. YHWH does give instructions for the Day with the ultimate goal of having us choose to abide with Him, our families, and other believers in a restful manner. This can look different week by week for every household. Only He and you - as parents, grandparents, husbands, and wives - truly understand the ins & outs of how your family functions and what your household needs on each Sabbath. So what are YHWH's boundaries?
Candles, Challah bread, and wine or juice Having a fancy meal every Friday night Dressing up in your finest clothing and jewels Blessing the spouses and children by a pastor or parents Spending the entire Sabbath in congregational meetings Assigned Torah and other Bible portions These things are not forbidden or bad practices. They are worthy traditions that have developed over the centuries to help us understand, honor, and step into the importance and essence of the Day. You CAN do any of the above if they help you to step into Shabbat with YHWH & each other to the best of your ability. Using them is not wrong.... but it is also not required. (As in, do not judge others if they fail to meet your expectation of what Shabbat should look like, outside of what is explicitly in Scripture) In our home, we do light a "Shabbat candle" which for us is a white candle from the dollar store. We light it and say some prayers to begin, and pray over the children, followed by a time of praise, and intercessory prayer. (As seen in the picture above) The candle stays lit from sunset to sunset (we do put it out overnight and re-light in the following morning, fire safety friends.) The children know that as long as it is lit Shabbat is in progress. The menorah is lit for church service. We need to be careful with YHWH's Sabbath -- not redefining it or twisting it with legalism and religious form -- and definitely not ignoring it or casting it aside. No matter where you are or in what circumstances you find yourself on any given Shabbat, you can honor the Day with obedience by doing your best to follow HIS instructions, with or without the traditions we have come to cherish. Honoring Shabbat as a set apart covenant time unto Yah (God) for: rest, study, worship and fellowship in the body of believers, has been a blessing 100x over within our family/ and fellowship {The Narrow Way Torah Observant Fellowship.} I hope you too discover the blessing in keeping Adonai's set apart Shabbat and Feasts! Shabbat is our favorite time of the week!! Phil 4:13 Hello friends and scattered family in Messiah! It's night 1!! Tonight, the lampstand will shine with two candles (the shamash/servant candle, and the 1st candle for the 8 days.) In Messianic Judaism OR for those who have been grafted into Israel (Rom 11), following Messiah, we find additional meaning in this Festival of Lights/Hanukkah. As the Servant Candle sets aflame our 1st candle {for night 1} we say the blessings and read Scriptures of the Second (New) Testament about the Light that was given to all humanity – Yeshua (Jesus) our Messiah. We rejoice in the Light that overcomes all darkness. "Blessed are You, Lord Our God, King of the Universe, Who has sanctified us with Your commandments" "Blessed are You, LORD, our God, king of the universe, Who has sanctified us by His commandments and has given us Yeshua the Messiah, the light of the world." "Blessed are You, LORD, our God, king of the universe, Who has performed miracles for our ancestors in those days at this time." Light Overcoming Darkness
So after He had washed their feet and put His robe back on and reclined again, He said to them, “Do you understand what I have done for you? You call Me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Master’—and rightly you say, for I am. So if I, your Master and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash each other’s feet. I have given you an example—you should do for each other what I have done for you. “Amen, amen I tell you, a servant isn’t greater than his master, and the one who is sent isn’t greater than the one who sent him. If you know these things, you are blessed if you do them!” JN 13:12-17 ---Yeshua expects His followers to imitate Him, so serving others should be at the top of our list. These words echoed in Simon Peter's memory, and he carried them with him to his death.... "But whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be your slave" (MT 20:26-27) Yeshua placed the utmost importance on serving others..."The Son of Man came not to be served bur to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many." (MT 20:28) You see, it all begins with the single flame of the Shamash, the Servant. Yeshua lived the life of a servant. He is called the Suffering Servant. He is the Shamash. By serving His disciples, Yeshua lit a flame in them that would burn in their hearts for the rest of their lives, driving them to return that example by serving others. Just as Yeshua was the shamash and served His disciples, so may we also carry the light of our service into the darkness so the light of Yeshua may shine brightly in this world.---- * summary of sections from pg 22-23 Eight Lights: A Hanukkah devotional for followers of Yeshua Blessings and Shalom in the Name of Yeshua Messiah! Phil 4:13 Hello friends and scattered family in Messiah! Prayerfully this finds you well, and HAPPY MONDAY! This post is on believing and faith and how they work together. Along with things to guard against and protect your faith.
“The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart”(that is, the WORD OF FAITH which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth that Yeshua is Lord and BELIEVE in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:8-10
~The word 'faith' generally corresponds to the Greek noun πίστις (pistis) or the Greek verb πιστεύω (pisteuo), meaning "to trust, to have confidence, faithfulness, to be reliable, to assure". The word "pistis" is not to be taken as mere credence. It is a confidence or trust that is rooted much deeper than a simple knowledge of truth. It is an inward understanding of an irrevocable principle put in place by Yah who has your best interest at heart. That, "best interest," can be displayed fully when we are obedient and walking in faith. When we are not obedient and walking in faith, like the children of Israel, we may limit our own blessings and "wander in the wilderness," due to lack of obedience. The Bible says that faith is "the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." HEB 11:1 In addition, this does not mean your life will have no: troubles, obstacles or difficulties. Do not be led away by those who preach and teach, "another gospel" of wealth and prosperity. Yeshua says, the opposite, "These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have shalom. In the world you will have trouble, but take heart! I have overcome the world!”-Yeshua (JN 16:33 TLV) ->But those who want to be rich fall into temptation and a trap and many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is the root all kinds of evil--some, longing for it, have gone astray from the faith and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.1Tim 6:9-10 TLV Fight the good fight of faith! Take hold of the eternal life—you were called to it, and you made the good confession for it in the presence of many witnesses. I charge you before God who gives life to all things and Messiah Yeshua who testified the good confession before Pontius Pilate, to keep this command without spot or blame until the appearing of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah. This He will reveal in His own time—the blessed and only Ruler, the King of kings and the Lord of lords, who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or is able to see.To Him be honor and eternal dominion! Amen. Direct those who are rich in this present age not to be proud or to fix their hope on the uncertainty of riches, but rather on God—who richly provides us with everything to enjoy. Direct them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, to be generous, sharing, storing up for themselves a good foundation for the future, so they might take hold of the true life. 1 Tim 6:12-19 TLV This is not an exhaustive post so, as always, "Make every effort to present yourself before God as tried and true, as an unashamed worker cutting a straight path with the word of truth." 2 Tim 2:15 TLV

Phil 4:13 Hello friends and scattered family in Messiah! Let's talk about Hanukkah! Hanukkah is not one of the Appointed times (commanded Feasts), however, there is still much to be learned here as a commemoration celebration of Yah's deliverance and victory to His people as they set themselves apart from the surrounding culture. "As His temple, we recognize from Hanukkah that unless we are dedicated, we are not spiritually useful to God, and therefore we live unfulfilled lives. As we look at Yeshua's dedicated life we can understand how God works in our lives as He conforms us to the image of Messiah (Romans 8:29)" - Messiah in the Feasts of Israel, Sam Nadler pg 188
" Dedication is not just a matter of a well-rounded education, but rather being properly focused on the truth. For all of us, the lack of spiritual maturity comes from a lack of consistent dedication. Godly discipline in childhood brings godly self-discipline in adulthood. To dedicate a child is to train up the child in light of who he actually is, just as God does with you. But remember, when we train up a child it is the dedication of the parents, not the child, that is being considered. More than just praying, reading the Bible, and hearing godly teaching, dedication is the consistent application of truth in a person's life." Messiah in the Feasts of Israel, Sam Nadler pg 190 We can reflect on the solid conviction of the Macabee family as they refused to compromise. Our culture rather forcefully demands that we, as believers and servants of Yeshua, compromise and conform to their preferences and "their truth," and many in the broader Christian church cave to worldly culture Our allegiance is to ONE KING, and one kingdom.
BIRTH OF YESHUA FORETOLD: Many Bible believing scholars believe Yeshua was born during the Feast of Tabernacles (Sept/Oct) This can be deduced and understood by looking at Scripture. And in the sixth month (of Elizabeth’s pregnancy) the angel Gabriel was sent from YHWH unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, To a virgin (Miriam/Mary) espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary. This is one of the most valuable clues given of Yeshua’s foretold timing of His birth. It is said that Gabriel visited in the sixth month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy. Elizabeth conceived after the Priestly Course of Abia, which is in the Hebrew month Sivan (May/June). Six months from Elizabeth’s conception in Sivan takes us to the Hebrew month Kislev (December), that is when Yeshua was conceived in Miriam’s/Mary's womb (NOT born)—meaning late in December. And three months later was the time of John’s birth, and that would be approximately Pesach (Passover). This is very important as the religious Jews at that time (even today), expected that Elijah would appear during Passover (Mal 4:5). Remember, John came in the spirit of Elijah (Mat 11:7-14) and not in the flesh. Now, Luke tells us clearly that Elizabeth was six months pregnant when the angel Gabriel visited (Miriam/Mary.) The beginning of Elizabeth’s sixth month would have been the 25th day of the month of Kislev/December, which relating to the first day of Hanukkah. Hanukkah is known as the “Feast of Lights” or the “Feast of the Dedication”. (John 10:22) This date is considered, by some, to be the first day of the dedication of the Wilderness Tabernacle and of the First and Second Temples as well as the rededication of the Second Temple after the Maccabean revolt. Except for the rededication following the Maccabean revolt, it is not completely clear from Scripture what role the day of Kislev 25 played in the dedication—but Scripture tells us that the foundation of the Second Temple was laid on Kislev 24. (Hag 2:18) It is, however, clear that Miriam was being dedicated for a purpose of enormous magnitude. Also, if (Miriam/Mary) conceived during Hanukkah, the feast of the Dedication of Lights, then John 1:6-9 makes perfect sense: “There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. He came as a witness to testify to the light, so that all might believe through him. He himself was not the light, but he came to testify to the light. The true light, which enlightens everyone, was coming into the world”.

Believers that belong to Messiah: Nobody in the body of Messiah can hold onto bitterness, unforgiveness, and tout it as justified. "Pursue shalom with everyone, and the holiness without which no one will see the Lord. See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God; and see to it that no bitter root springs up and causes trouble, and by it many be defiled." Hebrews 12:14-15 TLV " Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves in tender compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience— bearing with one another and forgiving each other, if anyone has a grievance against another. Just as the Lord pardoned you, so also you must pardon others" Colossians 3:12-13 TLV Regarding forgiveness : Yeshua said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven." Matthew 18:22 TLV " They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world." John 17:16 TLV We, who belong to Messiah, must rise up above our culture in allegiance to our KING. We do not belong to this world. "if indeed you have heard Him and were taught in Him, as the truth is in Yeshua. With respect to your former lifestyle, you are to lay aside the old self corrupted by its deceitful desires, be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and put on the new self—created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.< Ephesians 4:21-24 TLV Those in Messiah are family: whether believing Jew or grafted in believer and regardless of ethnicity or native nationality. In scripture among believers, there is no nationality, there is no ethnicity. There are children and heirs of Yah and those who are still unrepentant sinners. That's it. Do not be fooled and make an idol of these things for they are passing away and hold no value in the kingdom. Do not let unforgiveness take root either in refusal to obey Yeshua's command. "For all who are led by the Ruach Elohim, these are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall again into fear; rather, you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” The Ruach Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God. And if children, also heirs—heirs of God and joint-heirs with Messiah—if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him. Romans 8:14-17 TLV After these things I looked, and behold, a vast multitude that no one could count--from every nation and all tribes and peoples and tongues—was standing before the throne and before the Lamb. Revelation 7:9 TLV "The one who says he is in the light and hates his brother is still in the darkness. The one who loves his brother abides in the light, and in him there is no cause for stumbling. " I John 2:9-10 TLV BOTTOM LINE : But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a HOLY NATION, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the praises of the One who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. Once you were “not a people,” but now you are “God’s people.” You were shown “no mercy,” but now you have been shown “mercy.” I Peter 2:9-10 TLV Believers need to rise above worldly nationality and identifying factors to who Yah says we are and the customs/culture & Holy Days He left for us as instructed. We are not of the world. But you are not of the world, since I have chosen you out of the world; therefore the world hates you.- JN 15:`19 TLV
This is not just once a week or a few times a yr. No, Messiah left us instructions/commandments, Holy Days, that cover every day decisions, choices, character development (Fruit of the Spirit) how to deal with conflict, forgiveness etc. The Feasts follow an annual cycle and each Feast points to HIM in preparation for the coming kingdom. This is your time to study, to show yourself approved. (2 Tim 2:15) The kingdom is coming.... * Forgiveness doesn't always mean things go back to however they were before the offence; this is very situationally dependent. New Boundaries are at times necessary for shalom. But forgiveness is a must:

Phil 4:13 Hello friends and scattered family in Messiah! WHAT DID YESHUA DO? Jesus/Yeshua made a three-day journey from Nazareth to be in the Temple during the Feast of Dedication/Hanukkah. "Yeshua was walking in the Temple around Solomon’s Colonnade. Then the Judean leaders surrounded Him, saying, “How long will You hold us in suspense? If You are the Messiah, tell us outright!” Yeshua answered them, “I told you, but you don’t believe! The works I do in My Father’s name testify concerning Me. But you don’t believe, because you are not My sheep. My sheep hear My voice. I know them, and they follow Me. I give them eternal life! They will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all. And no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.” John 10:23-32 TLV Yeshua answered them with a declaration that He and the Father are one! Think of the godly wisdom and timing for Yeshua to choose the Temple and the Feast of Dedication, Hanukkah, to reveal that He is God! Antiochus of Epiphanies' made a similar claim, the coming anti-Christ will do the same and now here is Yeshua confronting the cultural, political, and religious leaders with the truth that He is the Messiah; "I and my Father are one. Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him." (John 10:30).
"Again Jesus/Yeshua spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life" (John 8:12) "I am the light of the world" (John 9:5). "I have come as Light into the world, so that everyone who believes in Me will not remain in darkness" (John 12:46). We are excited to begin this journey again. During the darkest part of the year as we remember our Messiah. Messiah Yeshua, as the light of the world and show Him forth in: practical application, sharing the gospel, and the Fruits of the Spirit to point others back to Him. As Darren eloquently explains on pg 21-22 of Eight Lights: A Hanukkah Devotional for Followers of Yeshua, "Night One the highest candle or set apart candle you see is the shamash, or servant, its job is to pass the flame to each of the 8 candles of the Hanukkah menorah. Its job is to serve (avodah) the other candles by passing its light and heat to them. It doesn't get counted like the other candles, yet it is always present. Every night we first light the shamash and then use it to light the other candles. It really has a thankless job. The shamash works hard to make the other candles shine brightly, but receives little attention for this important task and is not counted among the special eight lights of Hanukkah." Yeshua said, " So if I, your Master and Teacher have washed your fee, you also ought to wash each other's feet. I have given you an example-- you should do for each other what I have done for you. Amen, amen I tell you, a servant isn't greater than his master, and the one who is sent isn't greater than the one who sent him..."- John 13: 14-16 TLV Yeshua is Master of all and yet taught as a servant how to be a servant, saying, " I have given you an example-- " Yeshua passed on the "light" to us... "I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper so He may be with you forever-- the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not behold Him or know Him. You know Him, because He abides with you and will be in you. I will not abandon you as orphans; I will come to you." John 14: 16-18 Hanukkah is a "belated" Sukkot celebration. At the time of Sukkot, the temple was not in the hands of God's people and had been desecrated. "The historical reason for 8 days is actually based on Sukkot, the Feast of Booths. The Jews celebrated joyfully for eight days as on the Feast of Booths/Tabernacles, remembering how a little while before, they had to spend the Feast of Booths living like wild animals in caves on the mountains. Carrying rods entwined with leaves, green branches, and palms, they sang hymns of grateful praise to Him who had brought about purification of His own Place (2 Maccabees 10)- Messiah in the Feasts of Israel, Sam Nadler pg 179 "The Feast of Sukkot was the most recent Feast in the calendar when the Temple was rededicated for holy worship, but during the last three celebrations they were engaged in guerrilla warfare. However, they recognized the Lord's provision and protection in bringing them victory... Today, despite what some may think, the Feast of Dedication is more than a gift-giving alternative to Christmas. Hanukkah is a joyous holiday to be sure, but it is meant to celebrate the victory God gave our people through the heroic efforts of the Maccabeean family."
