Hello scattered family and friends in Messiah! I hope you all are doing well. Well having spent my former years in an Assembly of God church and having a foundation there. This issue plagued me for many years as it was incorrectly taught. I'm sure it does others as well. Abba did some teaching/correcting me in my fears that were instilled from the way this was taught. Over the years as I have become more and more "Berean minded." It's not really as complicated as all that. Let us plainly just read what Scripture says about the crowd : "*** hearing them speaking in his own language.***"- So let's dive in with Scripture and a trusty STRONGS concordance: They were all filled with the Ruach ha-Kodesh and began to speak in other tongues as the Ruach enabled them to speak out. Now Jewish people were staying in Jerusalem, devout men from every nation under heaven. And when this sound came, the crowd gathered. They were bewildered, ***because each was hearing them speaking in his own language.*** And they were amazed and astonished, saying, “All these who are speaking—aren’t they Galileans? ****How is it that we each hear our own birth language? ****Acts 2: 5-8
These languages are foreign natural languages that were all present in that place. As men from every nation under heaven were present. This gift helped/helps spread the gospel.
Study as a Berean. vs 11 Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and parts of Libya toward Cyrene, and visitors from Rome (both Jewish people and proselytes), Cretans and Arabs—we hear them declaring >>* in our own tongues* << the mighty deeds of God!” And they were all amazed and perplexed, saying to each other, “What does this mean?” Peter said to them, “Repent, and let each of you be immersed in the name of Messiah Yeshua for the removal of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Ruach ha-Kodesh. For the promise is for you and your children, and for all who are far away—as many as Adonai our God calls to Himself.” With many other words he warned them and kept urging them, saying, “Save yourselves from this twisted generation!” So those who received his message were immersed, and that day about three thousand souls were added. Acts 2: 38-41 (No mention of tongues, about 3000 souls saved)
But many who heard the message believed, and the number of the men came to about five thousand.-Acts 4:4 (No mention of speaking in tongues for those who believed, about 5000) When they had prayed, the place where they were gathered was shaken. And they were all filled with the Ruach ha-Kodesh and began to speak the word of God with boldness. Acts 4:31
So then, brothers and sisters, we do not owe anything to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. For if you live according to the flesh, you must die; but if by the Ruach you put to death the deeds of the body, you shall live. For all who are led by the Ruach Elohim, these are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall again into fear; rather, you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” The Ruach Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God. And if children, also heirs—heirs of God and joint-heirs with Messiah—if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him. Rom 8:10-14
Scripture always agrees with Scripture and is consistent: What then shall we say that Abraham, our forefather according to the flesh, has found? For if Abraham was set right by works, he has something to boast about—but not before God. For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.” Romans 4:1 -3 There are various kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are various kinds of working, but the same God who works all things in all people. But to each person is given the manifestation of the Ruach for the benefit of all. For to one is given through the Ruach a word of wisdom, to another a word of knowledge according to the same Ruach, to another faith by the same Ruach, to another gifts of healings by the one Ruach, to another workings of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. >But one and the same Ruach activates all these things, distributing to each person individually as He wills < 1 Cor 12: 5-11
For the body is not one part, but many. If the foot says, “Since I’m not a hand, I’m not part of the body,” is it therefore not part of the body? And if the ear says, “Since I’m not an eye, I’m not part of the body,” is it for this reason any less part of the body? If the whole body were an eye, where would the hearing be? If the whole were hearing, where would the sense of smell be? But now God has placed the parts—each one of them—in the body just as He desired. If they were all one part, where would the body be? But now there are many parts, yet one body. 1 Cor 12: 12-19 The individual gifts given are exemplified as a blessing to each person for the benefit of all. All do not have the same gift.
Now you are the body of Messiah, and members individually. God has put into His community first emissaries, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then healings, helps, leadership, various kinds of tongues. All are not emissaries, are they? All are not prophets, are they? All are not teachers, are they? All do not work miracles, do they? All do not have gifts of healing, do they? All do not speak in tongues, do they? All do not interpret, do they? But earnestly desire the greater gifts. And still I show you a far better way-1 Cor 12:27-31 * Read 1 Cor 13 the chapter on LOVE, the "far better way"* While on the topic of 1 Cor 13:1-3 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.
The eye cannot tell the hand, “I don’t need you!” or in turn the head to the feet, “I don’t need you!” On the contrary, those parts of the body that seem to be less important are indispensable. Those parts of the body that we think to be less honorable, we clothe with greater honor; and our unpresentable parts are treated with greater modesty; but our presentable parts have no such need. Rather God assembled the body, giving more honor to those who are lacking, so that there may be no division in the body, but so that the parts may have the same care for one another. If one part suffers, all the parts suffer together. If one part is honored, all the parts rejoice together. 1 Cor 12: 21-26 Philip went down to the main city of Samaria and proclaimed the Messiah to them. The crowds were paying close attention to what Philip was saying—as they both heard and saw the signs that he was doing. For unclean spirits were coming out of many who were plagued, shrieking with a loud voice. Many paralyzed and crippled were healed also. So there was great joy in that city. Now a man named Simon had been practicing magic in the city and astonishing the people of Samaria, saying he was someone great. 1They all were paying special attention to him, saying, “This man is the power of God that is called ‘Great.’” And they kept paying attention to him, because for a long time he had astonished them with his magical arts. But when they believed Philip proclaiming the Good News about the kingdom of God and the name of Messiah Yeshua, both men and women were immersed. Even Simon himself believed; and after being immersed, he continued with Philip. And when he saw signs and great miracles happening, he was continually amazed. Now when the emissaries in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had accepted the message of God, they sent Peter and John to them. They came down and prayed for them to receive the Ruach ha-Kodesh. For He had not yet come upon them; they had only been immersed in the name of the Lord Yeshua. Then they began laying their hands on them, and they were receiving the Ruach ha-Kodesh. Now when Simon saw that the Ruach ha-Kodesh was given through the laying on of hands by the emissaries, he offered them money, saying, “Give this power to me, too—so that anyone on whom I lay hands may receive the Ruach ha-Kodesh.” Acts 8:5-19
I solemnly charge you—in the presence of God and Messiah Yeshua, who is about to judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His Kingdom— proclaim the Word! Be ready when it is convenient or inconvenient. Confront, rebuke, encourage—with complete patience and instruction. For the time will come when they will not put up with sound instruction, but they will pile up for themselves teachers in keeping with their own desires, to have their ears tickled. And they will turn away from hearing the truth and wander off to myths. You, however, keep a clear mind in all things, withstand hardship, do the work of proclaiming the Good News, and fulfill your service. 2 Tim 4: 1-5 Until next time: May Adonai bless and keep you as you: press on pursuing the goal for the reward of the upward calling of God in Messiah Yeshua. Hello scattered family and friends in Messiah! I hope you all are doing well. Well let's dive in: First: let’s establish that His Law (Torah) is eternal: Truth is the essence of Your word, and all Your righteous rulings are eternal. PS 119:160 So then, the Torah is holy, and the commandment is holy and righteous and good. Rom 7:12 Secondly: Establish the definition of Sin/Lawlessness: Everyone who keeps sinning is violating Torah — indeed, sin is violation of Torah. 1 JN 3:4 Third: Words of Messiah: Don’t think that I have come to abolish the Torah or the Prophets. I have come not to abolish but to complete. Yes indeed! I tell you that until heaven and earth pass away, not so much as a yud or a stroke will pass from the Torah — not until everything that must happen has happened. So whoever disobeys the least of these mitzvot and teaches others to do so will be called the least in the Kingdom of Heaven. But whoever obeys them and so teaches will be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven.- MT 5:17-20
So what is:--until all is accomplished or completed---? Answer: not until heaven and earth pass away- Messiah Yeshua Furthermore: vs 19 So whoever disobeys the least of these mitzvot /commandments and teaches others to do so will be called the least in the Kingdom of Heaven. But whoever obeys them and so teaches will be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven. This statement should send us into prayer and reevaluation of what the romanized/western church is teaching. The Messiah said this Himself I and the Father are one. JN 10:30 Now a certain Torah lawyer stood up to entrap Yeshua, saying, “Teacher, what should I do to gain eternal life?” Then Yeshua said to him, “What has been written in the Torah? How do you read it?” And he replied, “You shall love Adonai your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.” Yeshua said to him, “You have answered correctly. Do this and you will live.” Luke 10:25-28 TLV
The Scriptures show that Paul, an apostle personally trained by Yeshua, was still Torah observant some 25 years after his conversion, would that cause you to rethink the traditions of church fathers (men who did not write Scripture) who say the opposite? Yeshua plainly said He did not come to “destroy” the law. The Greek word translated destroy (Greek, katalyo) can also be translated “dissolve,” “demolish,” “abrogate” or “deprive of force.” Instead of abolishing the law, He came to fulfill (pleroo) it—which means to “make full,” “fill up” or “accomplish He fulfilled/accomplished the law in that He never broke it. He is SINLESS, (sin=lawlessness) thus taking the curse of the Torah/law that we, who believe, would not be under the curse any longer. - - -Rom7: 22 For in my inner self I COMPLETELY agree with God's Torah/law (and as you read you can see the battle Paul speaks of between the 'law of sin' this is our natural state of being, in sin, in lawlessness. You can see this working within him against the Law of God/Torah.) In conclusion : Who will rescue me from this body bound for death? Thanks be to God [He will]! — through Yeshua the Messiah, our Lord! To sum up: with my mind, I am a slave of God’s Torah ; but with my old nature, I am a slave of sin’s “ Torah .” Romans (Rom) 7:24-25 ------ Through Yeshua we are rescued from the curse/condemnation of the Torah/ law "The Messiah redeemed us FROM THE CURSE pronounced in the Torah by becoming cursed on our behalf... ”Galatians (Gal) 3:13 "I will put my Torah in their minds, and write it on their hearts." - Hebrews 8:10
Through belief in Yeshua, the Indwelling Set-apart Spirit gives the believer the "want to" and the "power to" be obedient. This is the "Good News" we are commanded to tell all people. (Eze. 36:25-27, Jer. 31:31-34, Rom. 7:18-8:4, Mark 16:15-16) But Peter said, “Certainly not, Lord! For never have I eaten anything unholy or unclean. Acts 10: 14
This agrees with: For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men. In unrighteousness they suppress the truth, because what can be known about God is plain to them—for God has shown it to them. His invisible attributes—His eternal power and His divine nature—have been clearly seen ever since the creation of the world, being understood through the things that have been made. So people are without excuse— for even though they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God or give Him thanks. Instead, their thinking became futile, and their senseless hearts were made dark. Claiming to be wise, they became fools. They exchanged the glory of the immortal God for an image in the form of mortal man and birds and four-footed beasts and creeping things. Rom 1: 18-23 Prayerfully this reaches you. Prayerfully it spurns you to seek Abba YHWH more and push aside the traditions and false teachings that have infiltrated the ekklesia via the Roman deception.... Stop in for a visit, invite a friend. Hope to see you all there! Hello scattered family and friends in Messiah! I hope all of you are well. Well.... we live in a time of mass confusion as people fall away from the Truth and all types of lawlessness (sin) is glorified, even idolized. Most churches are not even teaching the fullness of YHWH's Word. Strange teachings crop up from time to time. But we can always turn to the source of Truth and must weed through the mire and follow the Shepherd and He will lead us and lose none of His. But when the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on His own; but whatever He hears, He will tell you. And He will declare to you the things that are to come. He will glorify Me, because He will take from what is Mine and declare it to you. Everything that the Father has is Mine. For this reason I said the Ruach will take from what is Mine and declare it to you.” John 16: 13-15 TLV YHWH did not leave us helpless, and, in fact told us in advance to prepare for such warfare. --> Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you are able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the worldly forces of this darkness, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you may be able to resist when the times are evil, and after you have done everything, to stand firm. Stand firm then! Buckle the belt of truth around your waist, and put on the breastplate of righteousness. Strap up your feet in readiness with the Good News of shalom. Above all, take up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish ALL the flaming arrows of the evil one. And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Ephes 6: 10-17 TLV If you love Me, you will keep My commandments. I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper so He may be with you forever— the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not behold Him or know Him. >>>>You know Him, because He abides with you and will be in you. <<<<I will not abandon you as orphans; I will come to you. John 14:15-18 TLV
John 6:39 TLV
Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership is there between righteousness and lawlessness? Or what fellowship does light have with darkness? What harmony does Messiah have with Belial? Or what part does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? What agreement does God’s Temple have with idols? For we are the temple of the living God—just as God said, “I will dwell in them and walk among them; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. Therefore, come out from among them, and be separate, says Adonai. Touch no unclean thing. Then I will take you in. I will be a father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, says Adonai-Tzva’ot.” 2 Cor 6: 14-18 TLV To Him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear His voice. The shepherd calls His own sheep by name and leads them out. “When He has brought out all His own, He goes ahead of them; and the sheep follow Him because they know his voice. They will never follow a stranger, but will run away from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.” John 10:3-5 TLV I am amazed that you are so quickly turning away from the One who called you by the grace of Messiah, to a different “good news”— not that there is another, but only some who are confusing you and want to distort the Good News of Messiah. But even if we (or an angel from heaven) should announce any “good news” to you other than what we have proclaimed to you, let that person be cursed! As we have said before, so I now repeat: if anyone proclaims to you “good news” other than what you received, let that person be under a curse! Am I now trying to win people’s approval, or God’s? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Messiah. Gal 1:6-10 In all the passages dealing with spiritual warfare, there are no instructions to cast a demon out of a believer (Ephesians 6:10-18). Believers are told to resist the devil (James 4:7; 1 Peter 5:8-9), not to cast him out in regard to believers. Demons are routinely cast out of the unbelievers. The apostle John declares, “You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the One who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world” (1 John 4:4). Who is the One in us? The Ruach Ha'Kodesh (Holy Spirit.) Who is the one in the world? Satan and his demons. Therefore, the believer has overcome the world of demons, and the case for demon possession of a believer cannot be made scripturally. It is important that we do not allow personal experience to influence our interpretation of Scripture. Rather, we must filter our personal experiences through the truth of Scripture (2 Timothy 3:16-17). Our experiences must meet the test of Scripture, not the other way around. There is a distinct difference between being possessed by a demon and being oppressed or influenced by a demon. Demon possession involves a demon having direct/complete control over the thoughts and/or actions of a person (Matthew 17:14-18; Luke 4:33-35; 8:27-33). Demon oppression or influence involves a demon or demons attacking a person spiritually and/or encouraging him/her into sinful behavior. "You have overcome them because GREATER IS HE that is in you than he that is in the world--"For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall again into fear; rather, you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” Romans 8:15 TLV
Walk in the Truth and let no one lead you astray. ***So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed!*** John 8:36 TLV AMEN!! As expressed on the home page here: Pursuing the upward call of God in Messiah Yeshua- Phil 3:14 - Home "In this fellowship we are Shabbat and Feast keeping, following Yeshua Messiah, and exalting His preeminence! We strive to live and honor Him in keeping the commandments as best as we can. for He said: If you love Me, you will keep My commandments- JN 14:15TLV and "For this is the love of God--that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome." 1 JN 5:3 TLV No man can be saved by any commands that are kept. Instead we keep the commandments to the best of our ability BECAUSE WE ARE ALREADY SAVED AND LOVE ADONAI." In salvation the change involves both a turning away from sin and a turning to God/ Adonai. We obey Him by keeping His Commandments, not to be saved, but because we are saved.
Repent, therefore, and return—so your sins might be blotted out, so times of relief might come from the presence of Adonai and He might send Yeshua, the Messiah appointed for you. Acts 3:19-2 Messiah Yeshua, kept the Feasts, Shabbat, Torah/Commandments etc. This is how Yeshua Messiah lived.
This book, The Truth: Reformation 2.0 does a phenomenal job of explaining several points of how the modern/western church has been mislead and lost the Truth along the way. The Reformation 2.0 is already well underway with house churches exploding globally and Yah leading His people back to the Narrow path in the footsteps of Messiah. I strongly encourage reading the book, studying alongside your Bible and sharing. * This is not a paid commentary* YOU CAN NOW CONNECT WITH US ON FACEBOOK HERE! : (1) Pursuing the upward call | Facebook This is a public "personal blog" pg via Facebook to make it easier for readers to connect and share. Phil 4:13 Hello friends and scattered family in Messiah! Prayerfully this finds you well, and HAPPY MONDAY! This post is on believing and faith and how they work together. Along with things to guard against and protect your faith.
“The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart”(that is, the WORD OF FAITH which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth that Yeshua is Lord and BELIEVE in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:8-10
~The word 'faith' generally corresponds to the Greek noun πίστις (pistis) or the Greek verb πιστεύω (pisteuo), meaning "to trust, to have confidence, faithfulness, to be reliable, to assure". The word "pistis" is not to be taken as mere credence. It is a confidence or trust that is rooted much deeper than a simple knowledge of truth. It is an inward understanding of an irrevocable principle put in place by Yah who has your best interest at heart. That, "best interest," can be displayed fully when we are obedient and walking in faith. When we are not obedient and walking in faith, like the children of Israel, we may limit our own blessings and "wander in the wilderness," due to lack of obedience. The Bible says that faith is "the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." HEB 11:1 In addition, this does not mean your life will have no: troubles, obstacles or difficulties. Do not be led away by those who preach and teach, "another gospel" of wealth and prosperity. Yeshua says, the opposite, "These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have shalom. In the world you will have trouble, but take heart! I have overcome the world!”-Yeshua (JN 16:33 TLV) ->But those who want to be rich fall into temptation and a trap and many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is the root all kinds of evil--some, longing for it, have gone astray from the faith and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.1Tim 6:9-10 TLV Fight the good fight of faith! Take hold of the eternal life—you were called to it, and you made the good confession for it in the presence of many witnesses. I charge you before God who gives life to all things and Messiah Yeshua who testified the good confession before Pontius Pilate, to keep this command without spot or blame until the appearing of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah. This He will reveal in His own time—the blessed and only Ruler, the King of kings and the Lord of lords, who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or is able to see.To Him be honor and eternal dominion! Amen. Direct those who are rich in this present age not to be proud or to fix their hope on the uncertainty of riches, but rather on God—who richly provides us with everything to enjoy. Direct them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, to be generous, sharing, storing up for themselves a good foundation for the future, so they might take hold of the true life. 1 Tim 6:12-19 TLV This is not an exhaustive post so, as always, "Make every effort to present yourself before God as tried and true, as an unashamed worker cutting a straight path with the word of truth." 2 Tim 2:15 TLV

Phil 4:13 Hello friends and scattered family in Messiah! Adults and children alike need "training in righteousness." Discipline, training, and instruction can take various forms. Whenever the opportunity presents itself, my husband and I, like to put training into application & practice for the kids. Our children are a blessing given to us by Yah and it is our commanded opportunity to: train them, teach them, & disciple them in His ways.
So, recently our children have become quite argumentative and focused on *self* rather than each other. This is quite typical of the human condition= sinful.
So I thought to myself: How can I correct AND teach them? We discussed it as a family one day prior to the start of school and they contributed their ideas, as well after, reviewing scripture:
This is what we came up with together: Each child is responsible for giving 3 compliments, words of encouragement, affirmations to their other 2 siblings. (training in the power of the tongue, Prov 18:21) ALONG WITH 2 acts of kindness each day. ( But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deluding yourselves. James 1:22 TLV) To keep track I created a Microsoft Word document. This is a real life application to help them APPLY the Word in daily life by being: thoughtful, an encouragement, kind, loving etc One of the benefits of homeschooling is the opportunity to train in character development (Fruits of the Spirit) and Biblical apologetics among others. I hope sharing this has in some way encouraged or helped one of you! This is just as easily applied to yourself as a practice exercise/application of the Word. As adults, we too, can set the goal (whatever # you prefer to use) to complete: 3 acts of kindness daily and speak 3-5 encouraging/uplifting things to those around us (be it our children, husband, co-workers, friends etc) These are Biblical applications that can always be in practice whether adult or child. Phil 4:13 Hello friends and scattered family in Messiah! I am blessed to have a: God- loving, Bible- reading, masculine, husband who is leading our family in the Word. Godly masculinity is A BLESSING! Circumstances may vary by family but: he provides for his family, disciplines his children, and teaches them the Word and loves his wife as Yeshua loves the church-- washing her in the water of the Word. Our culture aims to feminize men in another effort to tear down the family unit. Godly masculinity is positively Biblical and needed. Men in Messiah need to #RiseUp and take their place as: leader, guardian, providers, and protectors of their family not just in the physical sense but in the ideological sense of what you're children are being taught and absorbing through media and in schools... AND in the spiritual sense as well. Pray over your children and family. Lead them to the Word and through the Word. AMEN!

My family is incredibly important to me and I pray I am a blessing to them as much as they are to me. link: Heart of a Torah Woman- Women Seeking His Kingdom - Titus 2 Womanhood Sharon, has a lot of love and wisdom to offer! Be sure to stop by and support her. There is also a newsletter you can sign up for on the site with additional resources that may not otherwise be available. ENJOY! Until next time: May Adonai bless and keep you as you: press on pursuing the goal for the reward of the upward calling of God in Messiah Yeshua. Phil 4:13 Hello friends and scattered family in Messiah. Whatever you do, work at it from the soul, as for the Lord and not for people. For you know that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as a reward. It is to the Lord Messiah you are giving service. Colossians 3:23-24 TLV This is a scripture my husband and I have discussed many times. Whether it is regarding: his work, me homeschooling, ministry etc. Expounding on this....I am expounding on it for where we are growing at this time. Others may minimize or belittle your: ministry, service etc. That's ok. Its not FOR them, although, by default function, people will be blessed by serving. Know Whom you serve. Keep on, keeping on. Keeping His ways: the Feasts, Shabbat and continuing in Bible Ways/ His Ways. >He's got us< The work is as UNTO ADONAI. Our ministry is not the typical western ministry. It is also not "for the approval of men." People have set up their own ideas that: overseers, pastors, leaders of assemblies/churches need a theological degree or to appear a certain way, that churches need to "look" a certain way etc...... Western cultural influences creeping in again. The church or "Ekklesia" is by definition a people group: from a compound of G1537 and a derivative of G2564; a calling out, community of members on earth or saints in heaven or both:—assembly, church. No scripture to be found for theological degrees, fancy buildings or any of that. While there is nothing innately wrong with attaining higher education. Biblically speaking it is not a prerequisite for overseeing an assembly of believers. Let's look again at the Apostles: Peter, Andrew, James, and John were all simple fisherman (MT 4:18-22) Even the Apostle Paul, after his conversion, continued to work his trade as a tentmaker to continue supporting himself. (Acts 18:1-3) Trustworthy is the saying: “If any man aspires to the office of overseer, he desires a good work.” An overseer, then, must be beyond criticism—the husband of one wife, clear-minded, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not addicted to wine, not violent but gentle, peaceable, free from the love of money, managing his own household well, keeping his children under control with all respectfulness. (But if someone does not know how to manage his own household, how will he care for God’s community?) He must not be a new believer, or he may become puffed up and fall into the same judgment as the devil. Furthermore, he must have a good reputation with those outside, so that he will not fall into disgrace and the devil’s trap. 1 Tim 3:1-7 TLV Those who, by default, are blessed, halleluYah! Even, Yeshua Messiah, had Judas so we know in advance and because He warned us as well there will be strife and issues.... not everyone will value: you, your efforts, work, or ministry. People often have a similar attitude towards homeschooling. How can you homeschool without an educational degree? Yet, the home-educated typically score 15 to 30 percentile points above public-school students on standardized academic achievement tests. - www.nheri.org/research-facts-on-homeschooling/ Regardless of all else the husband and I have decided to continue, "focusing on Yeshua, the initiator and perfecter of faith,"- Heb 12:2 Likewise, until next time I hope you join us in continuing to: "press on pursuing the goal for the reward of the upward calling of God in Messiah Yeshua."
