Hello scattered family and friends in Messiah! I hope you all are doing well. Well let's dive in: First: let’s establish that His Law (Torah) is eternal: Truth is the essence of Your word, and all Your righteous rulings are eternal. PS 119:160 So then, the Torah is holy, and the commandment is holy and righteous and good. Rom 7:12 Secondly: Establish the definition of Sin/Lawlessness: Everyone who keeps sinning is violating Torah — indeed, sin is violation of Torah. 1 JN 3:4 Third: Words of Messiah: Don’t think that I have come to abolish the Torah or the Prophets. I have come not to abolish but to complete. Yes indeed! I tell you that until heaven and earth pass away, not so much as a yud or a stroke will pass from the Torah — not until everything that must happen has happened. So whoever disobeys the least of these mitzvot and teaches others to do so will be called the least in the Kingdom of Heaven. But whoever obeys them and so teaches will be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven.- MT 5:17-20
So what is:--until all is accomplished or completed---? Answer: not until heaven and earth pass away- Messiah Yeshua Furthermore: vs 19 So whoever disobeys the least of these mitzvot /commandments and teaches others to do so will be called the least in the Kingdom of Heaven. But whoever obeys them and so teaches will be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven. This statement should send us into prayer and reevaluation of what the romanized/western church is teaching. The Messiah said this Himself I and the Father are one. JN 10:30 Now a certain Torah lawyer stood up to entrap Yeshua, saying, “Teacher, what should I do to gain eternal life?” Then Yeshua said to him, “What has been written in the Torah? How do you read it?” And he replied, “You shall love Adonai your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.” Yeshua said to him, “You have answered correctly. Do this and you will live.” Luke 10:25-28 TLV
The Scriptures show that Paul, an apostle personally trained by Yeshua, was still Torah observant some 25 years after his conversion, would that cause you to rethink the traditions of church fathers (men who did not write Scripture) who say the opposite? Yeshua plainly said He did not come to “destroy” the law. The Greek word translated destroy (Greek, katalyo) can also be translated “dissolve,” “demolish,” “abrogate” or “deprive of force.” Instead of abolishing the law, He came to fulfill (pleroo) it—which means to “make full,” “fill up” or “accomplish He fulfilled/accomplished the law in that He never broke it. He is SINLESS, (sin=lawlessness) thus taking the curse of the Torah/law that we, who believe, would not be under the curse any longer. - - -Rom7: 22 For in my inner self I COMPLETELY agree with God's Torah/law (and as you read you can see the battle Paul speaks of between the 'law of sin' this is our natural state of being, in sin, in lawlessness. You can see this working within him against the Law of God/Torah.) In conclusion : Who will rescue me from this body bound for death? Thanks be to God [He will]! — through Yeshua the Messiah, our Lord! To sum up: with my mind, I am a slave of God’s Torah ; but with my old nature, I am a slave of sin’s “ Torah .” Romans (Rom) 7:24-25 ------ Through Yeshua we are rescued from the curse/condemnation of the Torah/ law "The Messiah redeemed us FROM THE CURSE pronounced in the Torah by becoming cursed on our behalf... ”Galatians (Gal) 3:13 "I will put my Torah in their minds, and write it on their hearts." - Hebrews 8:10
Through belief in Yeshua, the Indwelling Set-apart Spirit gives the believer the "want to" and the "power to" be obedient. This is the "Good News" we are commanded to tell all people. (Eze. 36:25-27, Jer. 31:31-34, Rom. 7:18-8:4, Mark 16:15-16) But Peter said, “Certainly not, Lord! For never have I eaten anything unholy or unclean. Acts 10: 14
This agrees with: For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men. In unrighteousness they suppress the truth, because what can be known about God is plain to them—for God has shown it to them. His invisible attributes—His eternal power and His divine nature—have been clearly seen ever since the creation of the world, being understood through the things that have been made. So people are without excuse— for even though they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God or give Him thanks. Instead, their thinking became futile, and their senseless hearts were made dark. Claiming to be wise, they became fools. They exchanged the glory of the immortal God for an image in the form of mortal man and birds and four-footed beasts and creeping things. Rom 1: 18-23 Prayerfully this reaches you. Prayerfully it spurns you to seek Abba YHWH more and push aside the traditions and false teachings that have infiltrated the ekklesia via the Roman deception.... Until next time: May Adonai bless and keep you as you: press on pursuing the goal for the reward of the upward calling of God in Messiah Yeshua. Hello scattered family and friends in Messiah! How are you applying the Word to your life? Let's talk about it and challenge ourselves... Why is it important to master the "small things"? My first premise is that if you do not focus on the "small stuff" and apply it you have no firm foundation to build upon and everything else will crumble. The foundation being Yeshua and obedience to His commands those "small things" that people tend to gloss over like, being slow to anger, or handling disputes according to the Word ie : Matt 24:15-17 and many similar commands then: lives fall apart, relationships fall apart, marriages, fellowships etc. Yeshua must be the foundation of everything and we should strive to the highest degree to be obedient in even the "small things" for fruit to flourish in the sanctification process. Many people, the vast majority in fact, go to church/fellowship... hear a message, dissect their likes and dislikes about it, and then forget it without application. For though we walk in the flesh, we do not wage war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not fleshly but powerful through God for the tearing down of strongholds. We are tearing down false arguments and every high-minded thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. We are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Messiah-- 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 TLV
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Gal 5:22-23 TLV YOU CAN NOW CONNECT WITH US ON FACEBOOK HERE! : (1) Pursuing the upward call | Facebook This is a public "personal blog" pg via Facebook to make it easier for readers to connect and share. Until next time: May Adonai bless and keep you as you: press on pursuing the goal for the reward of the upward calling of God in Messiah Yeshua. Phil 4:13 Well hi there friends and readers! I hope you are refreshed after a restful Shabbat with fellowship and family and a nice weekend. Well this is a long one- so let's dive right in...Grab your favorite drink: coffee, tea, sparkling water--get your fuzzy blanket or comfy slippers... and join me! 1 Cor 12:27 Now you are the body of Messiah, and members individually. The model of "church" in the west is very fractured and broken. But what many people think of when they hear the word -church- is a building, a location. But scripture tells us believers, "are the body of Messiah." Furthermore, ----do not neglect our own meetings, as is the habit of some, but encourage one another—and all the more so as you see the Day approaching.- Heb 10:25 So growth and accountability happen when believers gather. It doesn't need be in a "church building." Preferably, not a 501c3 that has government overlords because the body of Messiah does not belong in bondage to a government tax code/system where the government can attempt to constrain what can be preached. As a believer and follower of the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, I am grafted into Israel by the blood of the Messiah Yeshua. I’m no longer a gentile.
I did not learn this in "church" There are twelve gates into the New Jerusalem (what the church calls heaven), each one named for one of the 12 Tribes of Jacob. There is no "gentile" or "Christian gate". Messiah Yeshua says He came only for the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
I did not learn this in "church" The church teaches the law is done away and abolished at the cross. Messiah Yeshua said He did not come to do away with the law.
I did not learn this in "church" SIN is LAWLESSNESS. Sin is the breaking of the Law or Torah. To be without the Law is to be lawless. Lawlessness means not having the Law, Torah - and it means to be against YHWH. The Torah is good, perfect, just, right, pure, etc. Psalm 119. The Bible teaches against being lawless.
I did not learn this in "church". Scripture repeatedly says: If you love YHWH you will keep His commandments
I did not learn this is "church". What was nailed to the cross was the CURSE of the law NOT YHWH’s just, pure, perfect, good Law and Will/Torah.
I did not learn this in "church." While keeping/guarding Torah and the moedim is not going to save anyone.... it is a joy to be pleasing to Adonai and there is a blessed peace and rest that comes in doing those things that are pleasing to Him. It is not a struggle or hardship. It certainly is not bondage as most of the western church would have people confused into believing. Through belief in Yeshua, the Indwelling Set-apart Spirit gives the believer the "want to" and the "power to" be obedient. This is the "Good News" we are commanded to tell all people. (Eze. 36:25-27, Jer. 31:31-34, Rom. 7:18-8:4, Mark 16:15-16) Moreover I will give you a new heart. I will put a new spirit within you. I will remove the stony heart from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Ruach within you. Then I will cause you to walk in My laws, so you will keep My rulings and do them. - Ezek 36:26 TLV I did not learn this in "church." Exodus 20:8-11 is YHWH’s command to remember the 7th day Sabbath and to keep it holy --- it does not change, and it is the only one of the 10 commandments He specifically said, "REMEMBER, the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work.... I did not learn this in "church." In Leviticus chapter 23 (and other places), YHWH gave His people feasts and holy days and commanded they be kept yearly. They are memorials and rehearsals for future events that teach all about Messiah. HalleluYah! I did not learn this in "church." YHWH commands that I worship Him: His way, keep His commands and His Holy Days, not the world’s. In fact, He tells me NOT to worship Him the way the world worships their gods, with worldly holidays and events like Christmas, Easter, Lent, Mardi Gras, Ash Wednesday, Valentines Day, abortion, materialism, sexual debauchery, and so many other worldly practices. These are things YHWH calls sins and abominations. Jeremiah 10, Deuteronomy 12:4, 12:31 The Torah, indeed, sets us apart, in covenant to Yah as His people. Set apart, from all other people, because we choose to obey/guard His commands, His Holy Moedim, and walk in His ways separate from the world. For this is the will of God—your sanctification- 1 Thess 4:3 TLV Therefore, come out from among them, and be separate, says Adonai. Touch no unclean thing. Then I will take you in. I will be a father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, says Adonai-Tzva’ot.”2 Cor 6;17-18 TLV I did not learn this in "church." YHWH lays out plainly what He considers food and not food for His people. Clean and unclean. Leviticus 11, Acts 10 I did not learn this in "church." If I read and study my Bible and endeavor to follow what it says, this *IS* the Will of YHWH, NOT legalism. Obedience is the fruit of my salvation, and sanctification, not the root. Obedience pleases Abba Yah; it does not trample on the cross or blood of Messiah.
I certainly did not learn this in "church." When Messiah ascended into heaven after his death, burial, and resurrection, He sent the Holy Spirit/Ruach Ha Kodesh back, whose purpose is to teach YHWH’s people and enable us to walk out the Father’s commands in our daily life. Walking in the Spirit means to follow the Law of YHWH, the Torah, through the leading and enabling of the Holy Spirit. I did not learn any of this in "church." In general, the church claims to be leading souls to Messiah, preparing the body of Messiah to be the bride of Messiah, and that it is THE representative of Messiah to the lost, but the church teaches nearly everything except the Word of the as Messiah taught it and lived it. Instead the church, in general, is turning many away from truth, leading them into spiritual adultery and apostasy, therefore denying the Father, His Word, and His character. The church is appeasing the world, modern culture, and bowing down to secular culture instead of, "coming out from among them." In some cases the "church" is not even distinguishable from the rest of society. The church teaches that we don’t need to regard the First Testament, because it’s history and doesn’t apply today. The church teaches that God changed from the Old Testament to the New Testament.
Please read your Bible. You need your own relationship with YHWH and understanding of what His word says. Coming out from the traditions of men and the "roman rooted" traditions in the church that are not Biblical in precedent. Until next time: May Adonai bless and keep you as you: press on pursuing the goal for the reward of the upward calling of God in Messiah Yeshua. Phil 4:13 So also faith, if it does not have works, is dead by itself. But someone will say, “You have faith and I have works.” Show me your faith without works and I will show you faith by my works. James 2:17-18TLV You see that a man is proved righteous by works and not by faith alone. James 2:24 TLV For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead. James 2:26 TLV The Merry-go-round that never stops in the larger "Christian" discussion ring "Faith and Works"! So above there we have several scriptures from James but let's see what Yeshua says on the topic in Matthew: Even so, every good tree produces good fruit, but the rotten tree produces bad fruit. A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a rotten tree produce good fruit. Every tree that does not produce good fruit is chopped down and thrown into the fire. So then, you will recognize them by their fruit. “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord!’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, >>but he who does the will of My Father <<in heaven. Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, didn’t we prophesy in Your name, and drive out demons in Your name, and perform many miracles in Your name?’ Then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you. Get away from Me, you workers of lawlessness!’”- Matt. 7: 17-23 TLV Wow! So much depth in only a few paragraphs! Let's dig in y'all!
He said what He said. *mic drop* And in life this is just an obvious practical observation. We make such observations daily in recognition of the character of others. You see either "good fruit" or "bad fruit." The problem lies in the fact that people by and large do not see "themselves" as the problem. It is everyone else who should be judged. When you realize that He died and made the sacrifice for YOU because of YOUR LAWLESSNESS (sin). Then you begin to understand and have a new appreciation for the justice of Yah. As always let's recap what is "lawlessness" ie (sin)? Everyone who keeps sinning is violating Torah — indeed, sin is violation of Torah. 1 JN 3:4 Quite simply: put your faith in action -> where your mouth is. If you have faith there will be "fruit" or proof to substantiate that faith. You will produce either good fruit of faith=OBEDIENCE or bad fruit of LAWLESSNESS. Those are the only 2 options. Yeshua Messiah said so. Thus those who desire to pick a fight can take it up with Him. On that day after Yeshua left the house, He was sitting by the sea. And large crowds gathered around Him; so He got into a boat and sat down, and the whole crowd stood on the shore. And He told them many things in parables, saying, “Behold, a sower went out to spread some seed. As he was scattering the seed, some seeds fell by the road; and the birds came and ate them up. Other seeds fell on rocky ground, where they didn’t have much soil. They sprang up immediately, because the soil wasn’t deep. But when the sun came up, they were scorched; and because they had no roots, they withered away. Other seeds fell among the thorns, and the thorns grew and choked them out. But others fell on good soil and were producing fruit. They yielded a crop—some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty. He who has ears, let him hear.” Matt 13: 1-9 TLV If you love Me, you will keep My commandments- Yeshua (JN 14:15) TLV
He says, IF you love Me YOU WILL KEEP My commandments. LOVE=OBEDIENCE. Yah also knows the motives of the heart so producing the fruit in of itself doesn't earn brownie points. IF the motive of the heart is for selfish ambitions than those "works" are useless other than whatever earthly value they hold. And whenever you fast, do not become sad-faced like the hypocrites, for they neglect their faces to make their fasting evident to men. Amen, I tell you, they have their reward in full! But when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, so that your fasting won’t be evident to men, but to your Father who is in secret. And your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you. “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in or steal. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Matt 6: 16-21 TLV Now I make known to you, brothers and sisters, the Good News which I proclaimed to you. You also received it, and you took your stand on it, and by it you are being saved if you hold firm to the word I proclaimed to you—unless you believed without proper consideration. For I also passed on to you first of all what I also received-- that Messiah died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5 and that He appeared to Kefa, then to the Twelve. 6 Then He appeared to over five hundred brothers and sisters at one time-- most of them are still alive, though some have died. 7 Then He appeared to Jacob, then to all the emissaries, 8 and last of all, as to one untimely born, He also appeared to me. 1 Cor 15: 1-8 TLV Now for this very reason, making every effort, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue, knowledge; 6 and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, patience; and to patience, godliness; 7 and to godliness, brotherly love; and to brotherly love, love. 8 For if these qualities are in you and increasing, they keep you from becoming idle and unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah. 9 But anyone who lacks these qualities is blind—nearsighted because he has forgotten his cleansing from past sins. 10 Therefore, brothers and sisters, make all the more effort to make your calling and election certain—for if you keep doing these things, you will never stumble. 11 For in this way entry into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior, Messiah Yeshua, will be richly provided for you. 2 Pet 1: 5-10 TLV How do we do this? Yeshua taught as the living Word/Torah that the action of obedience to GOD is equivalent to LOVE. Because we do sin and transgress the Torah/law God again made provision to help us in our weaknesses: "Everyone who keeps sinning is violating Torah — indeed, sin is violation of Torah." 1 JN 3:4 God in His great mercy and compassion gave says: Ezekiel 36:26-27 Moreover I will give you a new heart. I will put a new spirit within you. I will remove the stony heart from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Ruach (Spirit) within you. >>>>then I will cause you to walk in My laws, so you will KEEP My rulings and DO them. <<<<<
YHWH! {HalleluYah!!} Some may produce more than others, "a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty..." Bottom line is you will produce fruit from your faith.
No. It never says anywhere in there that they save you. But it DOES say numerous ways that if you have faith you will produce fruit/evidence of that faith in action and you are 'proved righteous by works and not by faith alone'-James 2:24 TLV: walk in His rulings, keep His Laws and DO THEM-Ezekiel 36:26. Straight quotation from scripture. “Hear O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one Love Adonai your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These words, which I am commanding you today, are to be on your heart. You are to teach them diligently to your children, and speak of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down and when you rise up." Deut 6:4-7 TLV AMEN! Blessings and Shalom as you continue to "pursue the upward calling of God in Messiah Yeshua"-Phil 4:13 He is still doing the heavy lifting! |
