Hello scattered friends and family in Messiah! I love to read! I am reading 3 books right now:
However, I am typing today to share a bit of what I learned from my reading today: "Walking in the dust of Rabbi Jesus (Yeshua)"- Lois Tverberg She explains that mainstream Christians tend to take an "all or nothing," approach to Torah (pg 137). We, our family, and fellowship do not do that because we understand it is a lifelong process of growth/sanctification. It is better to KEEP the Torah and guard it to the best of your current: ability, growth, and understanding. That ability will grow as your relationship with YHWH grows and you flex working those muscles of faith + obedience. Contrary, "In their (Jewish) minds, the Law teaches them how to live in a way that pleases a loving God and upholds their covenantal relationship. Because of this, Judaism often shows a surprising pragmatism toward people's weaknesses. People are encouraged to keep aiming to obey God's laws, even if they do so imperfectly. The idea is that if you can't be entirely obedient, do your best to do what you and can and try even harder tomorrow." (pg 137) AMEN! "If you are not going to be better tomorrow than you were today, then what need have you for tomorrow?- Rabbi Nachman of Braztlav (1772-1810) I have shared this many times and up front Christians often "like" the posts or commentary but don't push themselves deeper into keeping: Torah, Feast Days, Shabbat as instructed in Scripture and lived out by Messiah Yeshua as our example: You are saved by grace through faith so that no man can boast... And justified apart from works, correct... but let's continue... The outworking or fruit of salvation is keeping Yeshua's commandments (Torah) If you love Me, you will keep My commandments: John 14:15 For He said: "Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore by their fruits you will know them."Matthew 7:17-20 ) as the scripture says: Do we then nullify the Law by this faith [making the Law of no effect, overthrowing it]? Certainly not! On the contrary, we confirm and establish and uphold the Law (Torah) [since it convicts us all of sin, pointing to the need for salvation].Romans 3:31 AMP "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law (Torah)or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them, but to fulfill them. For I tell you truly, until heaven and earth pass away, not a single jot, not a stroke of a pen, will disappear from the Law (Torah)until everything is accomplished. (Is everything accomplished yet? No.) So then, whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do likewise will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven" (Matthew 5:18).
> But we know that the Torah is good if one uses it legitimately- 1 Tim 1:8 > So then, the Torah is holy, and the commandment is holy and righteous and good. Rom 7:12 > So you are to keep My statutes and My ordinances. The one who does them will live by them. I am Adonai. Lev 18:5 The Torah of Adonai is perfect, restoring the soul. The testimony of Adonai is trustworthy, making the simple wise. 9 The precepts of Adonai are right, giving joy to the heart. The mitzvot of Adonai are pure, giving light to the eyes. 10 The fear of Adonai is clean, enduring forever. The judgments of Adonai are true and altogether righteous. 11 They are more desirable than gold, yes, more than much pure gold! They are sweeter than honey and drippings of the honeycomb. 12 Moreover by them Your servant is warned. In keeping them there is great reward. PS 19: 8-12 THE TORAH OF ADONAI IS PERFECT. Yeshua did not come to abolish the Torah/Law. The Torah brings: joy and blessings, restores the soul, makes the simple wise, gives light to the eyes, and is more desireable than gold, in keeping His Commands is "great reward." Oh how the community of Messiah has been misled by Catholic heresies and modern watery sermons.... Finally then, brothers and sisters, we ask you and appeal in the Lord Yeshua—just as you received from us the way you ought to walk and please God (as in fact you are walking)—that you keep progressing more and more. 2 For you know what instructions we gave you through the Lord Yeshua. 3 For this is the will of God--your sanctification 1 Thess 4:1-3 If you cannot stop yelling at your kids... yell less today than the day before. If you struggle submitting to your husband; pick 1 area to submit to him in genuine obedience. If you cannot stop gossiping altogether- gossip less, set apart maybe an hour or two to do nothing but uplift and encourage others and keep all negativity in your mind and lay before YHWH when those intrusive thoughts come up. Take 1 step. Take another step. Keep coming, keep submitting, keep seeking and take back the Covenant that is ours the blessings that are ours in Torah have been hidden in deception for a good 1500 years. But now for such a time as this.... there is a remnant rising coming back to HIS ways out of the traditions and denominations of men. Out of the divisions and lukewarm... We are rising as we rise let's bring another brother or sister to freedom from deception....then we can both go back for another lost soul or another sibling left in the bondage of lies... 1 by 1 let us leave "Egypt" and cross over as Hebrews into His ways: His Torah, His Appointed Days, His Shabbat as we are SET APART unto Him. Hello scattered family and friends in Messiah! I hope you all are doing well.
More than that I hope you had a blessed & joyful Feast of Trumpets/Yom Teruah with your fellowship, family etc! As many of you know we host a small house church (The Narrow Way Torah Observant Fellowship) and so we had a small gathering here. It was a wonderful time of celebration and fellowship. Nothing fancy. Nor does it need to be fancy. The children had a blast as well! Now that we are prepping for Yom Kippur/Day of Atonement; our family started a devotional study together. This is nice because after each section (since we are doing it as a family) the children, my husband, and myself can all type back and forth to each other with thoughts, guidance, and questions as we go. We are all pretty excited about it and the opportunity for growth in Messiah as a family as hearts and minds are prepped. If you have pictures to share from Yom Teruah please feel free to drop them on the Facebook page! * via the link below Until next time: May Adonai bless and keep you as you: press on pursuing the goal for the reward of the upward calling of God in Messiah Yeshua. Stop in for a visit, invite a friend. Hope to see you all there! Hello friends and scattered family in Messiah! The 7th day Sabbath is a sign or seal of Yah revealing His authority as the Creator of the heavens and the earth. By keeping or setting apart the Sabbath, we are proclaiming Adonai the One True God. It is not a Jewish thing as it was instituted by Adonai at creation; 2300 years before there was a Jew: God completed--on the seventh day—His work that He made, and He ceased—on the seventh day—from all His work that He made. Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, for on it He ceased from all His work that God created for the purpose of preparing. Genesis 2:2-3 TLV
So Bnei-Yisrael is to keep the Shabbat, to observe the Shabbat throughout their generations as a >>perpetual covenant. << It is a sign between Me and Bnei-Yisrael forever, for in six days Adonai made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day He ceased from work and rested.’” When He had finished speaking with him on Mount Sinai, He gave the two tablets of the Testimony to Moses—tablets of stone, written by the finger of God. Exo. 31: 16-18
I say then, they did not stumble so as to fall, did they? May it never be! But by their false step salvation has come to the Gentiles, to provoke Israel to jealousy. Now if their transgression leads to riches for the world, and their loss riches for the Gentiles, then how much more their fullness! But I am speaking to you who are Gentiles. Insofar as I am an emissary to the Gentiles, I spotlight my ministry if somehow I might provoke to jealousy my own flesh and blood and save some of them. For if their rejection leads to the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead? If the firstfruit is holy, so is the whole batch of dough; and if the root is holy, so are the branches. But if some of the branches were broken off and you--being a wild olive—were grafted in among them and became a partaker of the root of the olive tree with its richness, do not boast against the branches. But if you do boast, it is not you who support the root but the root supports you. You will say then, “Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in.” True enough. They were broken off because of unbelief, and you stand by faith. Romans 11: 11-20 TLV
Shabbat was a gift given to believing Israel as a perpetual covenant, forever. To which, as believers in Yeshua we have been grafted in and "become a partaker of the root." There are natural born descendants of Israel that have been broken off because of unbelief and refused Messiah. "You will say then, “Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in.” True enough. They were broken off because of unbelief, and you stand by faith. " Rom 11:20 Not all of the descendants were "broken off" but some and gentiles were by faith permitted to be grafted in. This is not a new thing though as we see from Isaiah 56:6-7 TLV Also the foreigners who join themselves to Adonai, to minister to Him, and to love the Name of Adonai, and to be His servants— all who keep from profaning Shabbat, and hold fast to My covenant— these I will bring to My holy mountain, and let them rejoice in My House of Prayer..... The door to relationship with Abba Yah (God) has always been open to anyone (stranger and foreigner)willing to: repent, join to Him, love Him, serve Him, and keep His commands, holding fast to His covenant. Shabbat was made for man as an opportunity to rest and set aside dedicated time for: God, family, friends, and rest. Shabbat arrives at sunset every 6th day (taking us into the 7th day), week after week, month after month, year after year. That sunset-to-sunset timeframe set apart by the King of the Universe happens whether we choose to step into it or not. Where and how we choose to spend that time is up to us. And our choice will bear fruit: life or death. YHWH does give instructions for the Day with the ultimate goal of having us choose to abide with Him, our families, and other believers in a restful manner. This can look different week by week for every household. Only He and you - as parents, grandparents, husbands, and wives - truly understand the ins & outs of how your family functions and what your household needs on each Sabbath. So what are YHWH's boundaries?
Candles, Challah bread, and wine or juice Having a fancy meal every Friday night Dressing up in your finest clothing and jewels Blessing the spouses and children by a pastor or parents Spending the entire Sabbath in congregational meetings Assigned Torah and other Bible portions These things are not forbidden or bad practices. They are worthy traditions that have developed over the centuries to help us understand, honor, and step into the importance and essence of the Day. You CAN do any of the above if they help you to step into Shabbat with YHWH & each other to the best of your ability. Using them is not wrong.... but it is also not required. (As in, do not judge others if they fail to meet your expectation of what Shabbat should look like, outside of what is explicitly in Scripture) In our home, we do light a "Shabbat candle" which for us is a white candle from the dollar store. We light it and say some prayers to begin, and pray over the children, followed by a time of praise, and intercessory prayer. (As seen in the picture above) The candle stays lit from sunset to sunset (we do put it out overnight and re-light in the following morning, fire safety friends.) The children know that as long as it is lit Shabbat is in progress. The menorah is lit for church service. We need to be careful with YHWH's Sabbath -- not redefining it or twisting it with legalism and religious form -- and definitely not ignoring it or casting it aside. No matter where you are or in what circumstances you find yourself on any given Shabbat, you can honor the Day with obedience by doing your best to follow HIS instructions, with or without the traditions we have come to cherish. Honoring Shabbat as a set apart covenant time unto Yah (God) for: rest, study, worship and fellowship in the body of believers, has been a blessing 100x over within our family/ and fellowship {The Narrow Way Torah Observant Fellowship.} I hope you too discover the blessing in keeping Adonai's set apart Shabbat and Feasts! Phil 4:13 Hello scattered friends and family in Messiah! I hope this is a taken as a Shabbat of rest for you and time spent in: prayer, repentance, contemplation, & worship. What would Yeshua Messiah do?!?! He kept the feasts!! There's still time to see Messiah all throughout the fall feasts!! Yom Kippur is upon us and Sukkot is coming!!! Yah's feasts are for His children, forever throughout your generations. We are grafted in. This is acknowledged as a day of intercession, repentance/fasting. (LEV 16:29-34) This shall be an everlasting statute.... our Atonement was made in Yeshua Messiah, Amen! We can be filled with joy and reflection of who we are in Messiah. And the remnant both ethnic and grafted in believers of Israel still to be saved. There is only 1 Israel/1 bride of Messiah created out of "2 olive trees" ethnic Israel and those GRAFTED into Israel who are now indeed part of Israel: see: But I am speaking to you who are Gentiles. Insofar as I am an emissary to the Gentiles, I spotlight my ministry if somehow I might provoke to jealousy my own flesh and blood and save some of them. For if their rejection leads to the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead? They were broken off because of unbelief, and you stand by faith. Do not be arrogant, but fear— for if God did not spare the natural branches, neither will He spare you. Notice then the kindness and severity of God: severity toward those who fell; but God’s kindness toward you, if you continue in His kindness; otherwise you too will be cut off! And they also, if they do not continue in their unbelief, will be grafted in; for God is able to graft them in again. For if you were cut out of that which by nature is a wild olive tree, and grafted contrary to nature into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these natural branches be grafted into their own olive tree? Until next time: May Adonai bless and keep you as you: press on pursuing the goal for the reward of the upward calling of God in Messiah Yeshua. Phil 4:13 Well hello there fam! Are you new to keeping Shabbat? First, just breathe. Second, remember, this is a journey with the best guide of all! You're taking a walk with Messiah and He's got you. Learning new things, and letting go of old habits can be daunting...but this is a special time each week (Sunset Friday to sunset Saturday) to celebrate Adonai and spend time with Him and in His Word with your family and other believers. It really is a blessing and our favorite time of the week! To start: Pray, and study the Word. Read up on Shabbat and how Yeshua spent Shabbat as well. Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice- 1 Sam 15: 22 There are lots of Shabbat traditions you can find...but our focus is not traditions. Don't worry about man-made rules. For this is the love of God—that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome- 1 John 5:3 Use this time to acknowledge that it is a set apart time. Spend time with Him: pray, rest, fellowship with other believers, read the Word etc. Honor Him with your time. This should not be a burdensome thing. Be patient with yourself in learning how to prepare for Shabbat on "prep day" (ie: Friday). How to schedule your life in advance so that you don't have extra "work, errands" etc to do during Shabbat time with YHWH. Include your children in prep time so they too can look forward to Shabbat and teach them why. - Deut 6:4-9 Don't expect perfection from yourself. That's why we have Messiah! No different than a small child doodling a picture for their parent and offering it with the purest of intentions.... it may be scribbles but to the parent on the receiving end it is beautiful. The motive of obedience speaks. Remember, Then He said to them, “Shabbat was made for man, and not man for Shabbat".- Mark 2:27 Shabbat was made for man as a blessing of rest, not as a burden. Shabbat Shalom and enjoy! Until next time: May Adonai bless and keep you as you: press on pursuing the goal for the reward of the upward calling of God in Messiah Yeshua. Stop in for a visit, invite a friend. Hope to see you all there! Hello friends and readers I hope you are found well upon reading this. I have had some inquiries and so I am creating this post.....
Interestingly enough I have had quite frustrating complications in creating this post. I have already written it all up only for the site to lose it all and leave me to re-type it the best I can from memory... hmm..interesting. So let us start with explaining Prep Day (ie: Preparation Day) which is Friday up until sunset. As a Biblical day is sunset to sunset. Seen in creation and in how times and days are observed in scripture. During this time I work as usual and the children have school. They know that on Friday they need to sweep, and tidy the kitchen, and guest bathroom for service on Saturday. So all chores are done before sunset. Typically so I am not cooking into the beginning of Shabbat as that creates more dishes, after work, trying to rush about and get things done. I try to keep it simple... a pot roast in the crockpot, spaghetti and garlic toast....pizza or a quick pick up meal from a fast food restaurant. (***While we aim to intentionally rest and not run: errands, shop, etc on Shabbat I would like to make special notation that doing good on Shabbat and loving your neighbor as yourself if they are in need is NOT breaking Shabbat. Yeshua spoke on this a few times in healing a lame man on Shabbat to the parable about helping a sheep out of a pit (MT 12:11-12) Come Sunset we light the Shabbat Candle and say the blessing pictured above: "Barach Atah ADONAI, Eloheinu Melech ha'Olam Asher Kidd'shanu bidvaro v'natan lanu et Yeshua M'schicheinu v'tzivanu li-h'yot or l'olam, Amen" (this is sung to a tune)
After reciting the Shabbat blessing and acknowledging the start of Shabbat we recite the Shema Deut 6:4-9. Then each child will step forward and we pray Numbers 6:24-26 over each child often along with a personal blessing for that child. Then we move onto a time of worship followed by intercessory prayer. The Shabbat candle will stay lit until bedtime. The rest of the evening may be spent on an appropriate movie, game, or simply fellowship together to unwind before bed. Saturday morning the candle is re-lit and it stays lit for the duration of Shabbat. Saturday morning the children wake up typically before we do and they have free time to: eat, watch tv, and play freely and with friends up until lunch time. Around lunch time I gather them together for a "Shabbat school" lesson. We have a lesson, followed by coloring, or a craft. After which they have free time/leisure until service starts at 5pm. After them I have my Bible time, and prayer time...sometimes followed by a nap. 5pm service starts and we begin welcoming our church family. It is at this time the Menorah is lit. Service is opened in prayer, typically by my husband, with offering, and then followed with worship, and intercessory prayer/testimonies, and finally a sermon and discussion. After the main service we have a fellowship dinner. After dinner the Shabbat candle is blown out and people are free to fellowship and congregate until they desire to leave. If anyone has a special need requires private council it would happen during this time. Sometimes the home is empty by 9pm, sometimes midnight, it depends on the needs present and activities of the evening. Remember Yom Shabbat, to keep it holy. Ex. 20:9 TLV
Thus let us follow our Messiah and His ways: We know that we are in Him by this— whoever claims to abide in Him must walk just as He walked. 1 JN 2:6 TLV Yeshua taught, and upheld the Torah as our example of how to do so in kindness and in love. For this is the love of God—that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome. 1 JN 5:3 TLV If you have questions please inquire. Phil 4:13 Hi friends and scattered family in Messiah!!!
Many of you know, and some of you are regular attendees and now family, with us through the ministry that Abba Yah has called us into.... the House Fellowship He has assigned to us. The Narrow Way Torah Observant Fellowship Statement of Faith - Pursuing the upward call of God in Messiah Yeshua- Phil 3:14 I feel it is time to address this topic and spark some internal evaluation and intentional conversations/thoughts about the subject. Shortly before the Covid lockdowns started and schools began shutting down, and interestingly, churches around the world including out local congregations starting locking their doors and not meeting or meeting online only. Abba placed it upon us to start meeting in our home with other believers as we walked this set-apart Torah discipleship after Yeshua. So we did. We also started homeschooling our children. So when things went full swing with: fear, lockdowns, and hysteria....nothing for us really changed. Our kids continued with their homeschool lessons daily. No masks, no missing school, no virtual learning because they were home with me. Our fellowship continued meeting weekly at 5pm on Shabbat for: worship, service, followed by dinner. We met in person in our home throughout this whole thing. {IF someone did get sick with a fever, said individual used personal judgement and would stay home if needed.} We prayed over the sick, and we kept it moving- not forsaking the gathering together of the assembly-- We are now in the start of yr 3. A lot has happened with growth, and services we have been blessed to start and maintain: a food pantry, and meeting needs for individuals as they arise.... baby supplies, coats, Bibles, food, bills etc Our fellowship has now purchased: baptismals, folding tables, chairs for larger celebrations and gatherings, keep a stocked pantry, with Bibles as well. This yr our fellowship is starting a garden which the overflow can help with produce for the pantry as well. This year we have also started a ladies Bible Study twice a month. We see in the book of ACTS they met from house to house to break bread.... As our local churches have locked their doors or went virtual in the shadows of a virus and broken fellowship, as they have left: the elderly, the depressed, the single parents and adults -with no resources or lost in the shuffle. These tiny house fellowships are now flourishing. Our fellowship is a FAMILY we hold each other accountable, we meet needs as they arise, we encourage, we pray together..... and we do not forsake the instructions we were given. It is often a shock to people that the atmosphere is so different there is no choir, no stage etc.... It is a circle of people in our living room. When we run out of chairs we go pull folding chairs from the garage and move furniture to make space. It is different. It is raw, authentic, and requires us to walk out the Fruit of the Spirit to the best of our abilities to deal with all the nuances of: relationships, emotions, good days, bad days, changes, struggling families, addictions, troubled marriages, single parents etc. There is no government intrusion, no 501c3.....no outside influence. There is simply Bible and Fellowship. Yes we have a method for distribution of funds to keep checks and balances....but there is no overhead cost to the Fellowship for a building, utilities, employees etc.
Our Western churches follow "another gospel" not the one delivered to us by Yeshua Messiah and sadly many of them have become social clubs. Very little discipleship is occurring overall.... You can judge this quite simply by looking at the number of people who claim to follow Messiah and compare it to the values our society is embracing, the rate of divorce and fatherless households, cohabitation, etc. We have an urgent need for authentic DISCIPLESHIP. The western church loves the idea of "mental agreement" with scripture with no accountability and no FRUIT. Thus the western church is aiming to blend in and not upset the dynamics of the culture. Where as we are told to be SET APART, and COME OUT FROM AMONG THEM. We should be leading not blending in or following. I am passionate about this topic because I love Messiah and I am passionate about the growth of His people. IF you belong to Messiah YOU WILL PRODUCE FRUIT OF OBEDIENCE. "If you love Me, you will obey My commandments"- John 14:15 The time of coddling needs to stop. Stand up & take your position in the body and march to the beat of His commands. "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the worldly forces of this darkness and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you may be able to resist when the times are evil, and after you have done everything to sand firm. Stand firm then!" Ephes. 6:12-14 TLV Ezekiel 36:26-27 Moreover I will give you a new heart. I will put a new spirit within you. I will remove the stony heart from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Ruach (Spirit) within you. >>>>then I will cause you to walk in My laws, so you will KEEP My rulings and DO them. <<<<<
Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He trims so that it may bear more fruit. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Abide in Me, and I will abide in you. The branch cannot itself produce fruit, unless it abides on the vine. Likewise, you cannot produce fruit unless you abide in Me. “I am the vine; you are the branches. The one who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for apart from Me, you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away like a branch and is dried up. Such branches are picked up and thrown into the fire and burned. “If you abide in Me and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it shall be done for you. In this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be My disciples.” “Just as the Father has loved Me, I also have loved you. Abide in My love! If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.- John 15:1-10 TLV Right now the decision of which church/fellowship to go to and where is a free choice...but a day is coming and approaching where we will need our little "tribe" of believers. The difficulties ahead will be just that difficult. The Narrow Way Torah Observant Fellowship is committed to sticking together though ups and downs and sharing what we have in common with one another as there is need through the days of trial ahead....and until then. We are set apart unto Yeshua. Home Church How To Start One - YouTube HalleluYah! But it is not as though the word of God has failed. For not all those who are descended from Israel are Israel, nor are they all children because they are Abraham’s seed; rather, “Your seed shall be called through Isaac.” That is, it is not the children of the flesh who are children of God; rather, the children of the promise are counted as seed. Shabbat is our favorite time of the week!!
