The Bible has a lot to say about the spoken word, believing, confession by the mouth, the fruit of the mouth and how that impacts : Salvation, answered prayers, life and those around us. The book of Proverbs has a lot of gems around this topic but let's check it out! But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” --that is, the word of faith that we are proclaiming: For if you confess with your mouth that Yeshua is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart it is believed for righteousness, and with the mouth it is confessed for salvation. Rom 10:8-10 TLV
We know this in several ways but typically do not acknowledge it's full potential. For example we know that children raised in abusive homes where they are around verbal abuse or are verbally abused develop low self esteem, anger issues, and often depression. Because, "Death and life are in the control/power of the tongue." Someone has "watered" them with poisonous words and so it has damaged their development. In fact their are studies that show their is a difference in how plants grow when they are in an environment of soothing voices, and positivity vs and environment where abusive words, and anger/tension is hurled around.
This book of the Torah should not depart from your mouth--you are to meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Josh 1:8 TLV
And Yeshua answered, saying to them, “Have faith in God! Amen, I tell you, if someone says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart but trusts that what he says is happening, so shall it be for him. For this reason I say to you, whatever you pray and ask, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. Mark 11:22-24TLV (we had a post about praying in line with the will of Yah (God)
Lets take a look and see what can hinder us:
How often they rebelled against Him in the wilderness, and grieved Him in the desert! Again and again they tested God, and pained the Holy One of Israel... PS. 78: 40-41 TLV 2. Rebellion- Yah's perfect will/desire for the children of Israel was to inherit the promised land. They delayed their own blessing by rebellion and lack of faith!
And He did not do many mighty works there because of their unbelief. Matt. 13;58 TLV
Now here is the main point being said. We do have such a Kohen Gadol (High Priest), who has taken His seat at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens. He is a priestly attendant of the Holies and the true Tent—which Adonai set up, not man. Heb 8:1-2 TLV Therefore, since we have a great Kohen Gadol(High Priest) who has passed through the heavens, Yeshua Ben-Elohim (Jesus the Son of God,) let us hold firmly to our confessed allegiance. For we do not have a kohen gadol (High Priest) who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all the same ways—yet without sin. Therefore let us draw near to the throne of grace with boldness, so that we may receive mercy and find grace for help in time of need. Heb 4:14-16 Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is the one who condemns? It is Messiah, who died, and moreover was raised, and is now at the right hand of God and who also intercedes for us. Rom 8:33-34 TLV
>>For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned. <<Matt 12:37 TLV Reckless speech is like the thrusts of a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing. Truthful lips endure forever, but a lying tongue for only a moment. Prov 12:18-19 TLV “How long will this wicked community be grumbling against Me? I have heard the complaints of Bnei-Yisrael grumbling against Me. So tell them, ‘As surely as I live,’ says Adonai, ‘I will do to you just as I heard you say in My ears. Numbers. 14: 27-28 TLV Limits us:
A wise man’s heart teaches his mouth and adds persuasiveness to his lips. Pleasant words are honeycomb—sweet to the soul and healing to the bones. Prov 16: 23-24 TLV

Hello friends! I hope you all are doing well. But we aren't always well all the time. Life throws us: curves, hills, and valley's & when that happens we need to be prepared with the knowledge of truth so we do not get tossed to and fro by circumstances some of which may be out of our control. So as usual let's dive into scripture. 2 Tim. 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. {Word study:Sophroneo-> "sound mind"} Sophroneo is a Greek compound SODZO meaning something delivered, rescued, revived, salvaged, safe and secure. PHRONEO includes a person's intelligence, frame of mind, logic, rationale and emotions. When compounded into the word Sophroneo="sound mind" This is a mind that has been: delivered, rescued, salvaged, revived, reclaimed, protected and is safe and secure. In times of duress, anxiety or depression you can rely on God's Word to work in you to reclaim the peace and security that is rightfully yours. In addition2 Tim 1:7 is a PAST TENSE statement "has not given us a spirit of fear" SO where does that worry, fear, or anxiety come from? Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, so that He may lift you up at the appropriate time. Cast all your worries on Him for He cares for you. Stay alert! Watch out! Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion , searching for someone to devour. 1Peter 5:7 TLV But in several of these verses we see instruction alongside facts or comforting words from Yah (God) When Yah (God) gives instructions it is for our good! So what does He tell us??
For I know the plans that I have in mind for you, declares ADONAI, plans for shalom and not calamity--to give you a future and a hope. Jer 29:11 TLV (Now this vs was part of a prophecy to Israel and so Yah (God) is not speaking it directly to us in that sense--however, He still knows the end from the beginning and He still has a plan and purpose for every believer. There is nothing you are facing now or will ever face that has taken Him by surprise) Rejoice in the Lord always-- again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all people. The lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything--but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. {=>} And the shalom of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Messiah Yeshua. Phil 4:6-7 TLV
Come to Me all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light. Matt 11:28 TLV
Have I not commanded you? Be strong! Do not be terrified or dismayed for ADONAI your God is with you wherever you go. Josh 1:9 TLV
Shalom I leave with you, My shalom I give to you; but not as the world gives! Do not let your heart be troubled or afraid. John 14:27 TLV
ADONAI is my strength and my shield. My heart trusts in Him, and I was helped. Ps 28:7 TLV * as a side note I would like to state this is not something I have mastered and these scriptures are often ones I use for myself....but sometimes experience is the best teacher and having repeatedly struggled with this for multiple reasons it is a continual point of humility for me as I too am a work in progress!* My LIFE VERSE= Be still and know that I am God- PS. 46:10 May you be blessed in your growth and journey with Messiah. image: Iraqi Christian believers in Baghdad.Karim Kadim / AP Hi again friends! I hope you all are off to a great start into your day. Well circling back around to this subject: In part 1 we talked about the Integrity of Yah's (God's) Word and in Part 2 we talked about being decisive in choosing to trust Him and walk in knowledge of that truth because... He says, "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge." Hosea 4:6 TLV With his mouth the ungodly destroys his neighbor, but through knowledge the righteous will be delivered. Prov 11:9 LACK OF KNOWLEDGE= DESTRUCTION THROUGH KNOWLEDGE= DELIVERANCE NOW on to part 3!!! I'm excited I hope you're excited. Intro to the Power of the Spoken Word But now these three remain-- faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.1 Cor 13:13 TLV Love is important. Yah (God) is love. (Yah=love) 1 JN 4:8 TLV Love is important it marks us as disciples if we love as He has loved us. There are important differences between these 3 to unpack: Faith, hope and love....
"After eating and drinking in Shiloh, Hannah got up. Now Eli the kohen was sitting on his seat by the doorpost of the Temple of Adonai. While her soul was bitter, she prayed to Adonai and wept. " 1 Sam 1:8-10 But in response Hannah said, “No, my lord, I am a woman with an oppressed spirit! I haven’t been drinking wine or beer. Instead I’ve been pouring out my soul before Adonai. Don’t consider your handmaid a wicked woman. For out of my great anguish and grief I’ve been praying until now.” Then Eli responded, “Go in shalom, and may the God of Israel grant your petition that you asked of Him.” “May your maidservant find favor in your eyes,” she said. So the woman went her way; she ate, and her countenance was no longer dejected. 1 Sam 1: 15-18 TLV
Faith accompanies knowledge of the Word -> through knowledge the righteous will be delivered. Prov 11:9 By studying Yah's (God's) Word you can rest assured that you pray within His will and your confidence will grow.
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of realities not seen.- Heb 11:1 TLV Faith & hope again...Faith is at work in the present as the "substance of things" hoped for the evidence of realities not seen---> in the future. Faith is obtained through hearing the Word: So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Messiah." Romans 10:17 TLV
As they were passing by in the morning, they saw the fig tree shriveled from the roots. Peter remembered and said to Yeshua, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree You cursed has shriveled up!” And Yeshua answered, saying to them, “Have faith in God!- Mark 11: 19-22 TLV
* Now without faith it is impossible to please God. For the one who comes to God must believe that He exists and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him. Hebrews 11:6 TLV * “According to your faith, let it be done for you.” - Yeshua (Jesus) Matt. 9:29 TLV My prayer is that you have been blessed by reading this today and practice applying it to your relationship walk and that Yah (God) may get ALL THE GLORY AND ALL THE PRAISE in our faith, and in our hopeful expectations of His faithfulness!! Shalom, friends. Hello again friends! Let's take a side-step off of the prayer series for a brief moment. One of our greatest privileges is having access to the Ruach Ha Kodesh (Holy Spirit)!! Wow...if we stop and pause and think on that for a minute..... Guard the good that has been entrusted to you, through the Ruach ha-Kodesh who dwells in us. 2 TIm. 1: 14 TLV He dwells in us.... I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper so He may be with you forever-- the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not behold Him or know Him. You know Him, because He abides with you and will be in you. I will not abandon you as orphans; I will come to you. In a little while, the world will no longer behold Me, but you will behold Me. Because I live, you also will live! John 14:16-19 TLV For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall again into fear; rather, you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” The Ruach (Holy Spirit) Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God. And if children, also heirs—heirs of God and joint-heirs with Messiah— Rom 8: 15-17 TLV I tell the truth in Messiah—I do not lie, my conscience assuring me in the Ruach ha-Kodesh— Rom 9:1 TLV Paul, looking intently at the Sanhedrin, said, “Brothers, I have lived my life in all good conscience for God up to this day. Acts 23: 1 TLV But when the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on His own; but whatever He hears, He will tell you. And He will declare to you the things that are to come. He will glorify Me, because He will take from what is Mine and declare it to you. Everything that the Father has is Mine. For this reason I said the Ruach will take from what is Mine and declare it to you.” JN 16:13-15 TLV But the Helper, the Ruach ha-Kodesh whom the Father will send in My name, will teach you everything and remind you of everything that I said to you. “Shalom I leave you, My shalom I give to you; but not as the world gives! Do not let your heart be troubled or afraid. JN 14:26-27 TLV
Yah is good! HalleluYah In Part 1 we focused on understanding the integrity of the Word of Yah (God). Knowing that the Word is exactly who He says He is. The Word of Yah (God) is Yeshua, "And the Word became flesh and tabernacled among us. JN1:14" The Word is "living and active" and "able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart" Once you settle on the integrity of Yah's (God's) Word then you will know on that solid ROCK you can stand. You can trust for He will not be moved. That changes your whole prayer perspective! Let us 1st understand where we stand and that we serve a faithful God, "who is able to do far beyond all that we ask or imagine, by means of His power that works in us, to Him be the glory in the community of believers and in Messiah Yeshua throughout all generations forever and ever! Amen." Ephesians 3:20-21 TLV Now that we have established that foundation it becomes a constant action to choose to walk in that TRUTH.
Study, study, study.....dwell in and on the Word. Search it out. So I say to you, ‘Ask, and it shall be given to you. Seek, and you shall find. Knock, and it shall be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.’ What father, if his son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead? And if he asks for an egg, will he give him a scorpion? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Ruach ha-Kodesh (Holy Spirit) to those who ask Him!” Luke9:11-12 TLV So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Messiah. Rom 10:17 TLV As soon as it was night, the brothers sent Paul and Silas to Berea. Upon arrival, they made their way to the Jewish synagogue. Now these were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica, because they received the message with goodwill, searching the Scriptures each day to see whether these things were true. Therefore many of them believed.... Acts 17:10-12 TLV Abba Yah answers us according to His will and our need. Now this is the confidence we have before Him—that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have the requests we have asked from Him. 1 John 5:14-15 TLV
He says, "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge." Hosea 4:6 TLV With his mouth the ungodly destroys his neighbor, but through knowledge the righteous will be delivered. Prov 11:9 LACK OF KNOWLEDGE= DESTRUCTION THROUGH KNOWLEDGE= DELIVERANCE For this reason I say to you, whatever you pray and ask, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. Mark 11:24 TLV Think, speak, and dwell on the following:
*The image is from a homeschool lesson for our youngest son on the "armor of Yah" from last yr. -> Shema: "Hear O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. 5 Love Adonai your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. 6 These words, which I am commanding you today, are to be on your heart. 7 You are to teach them diligently to your children, and speak of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down and when you rise up. " Duet 6: 4-7 TLV Well welcome friends, readers, visitors and family back to "pursuing the upward call of Yah (God) in Messiah" Yeshua- Phil 3:14 YAY! These days we are living in are evil and are in hyper- speed down the Broadway to destruction. Our King told us to be prepared and gave us instructions on how for: "How narrow is the gate and difficult the way that leads to life, and those who find it are few" - Yeshua- Matt. 7:14- TLV How? Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you are able to stand against the schemes of the devil. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the worldly forces of this darkness, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you may be able to resist when the times are evil, and after you have done everything, to stand firm. 14 Stand firm then! Buckle the belt of truth around your waist, and put on the breastplate of righteousness. 15 Strap up your feet in readiness with the Good News of shalom (peace). 16 Above all, take up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18 Pray in the Ruach on every occasion, with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, keep alert with perseverance and supplication for all the kedoshim (saints). 19 And pray for me when I open my mouth to make known with boldness the mystery of the Good News, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may speak boldly, the way I should. Ephes. 6: 11-20
This is not a casual pop into "church" once a week and roll out kind of thing. This must be a daily undertaking. You put on your spiritual armor after you wake up and you prepare to battle for the day. You don't know what you will face...you don't know what others around you are facing... Will you be called to intercede? Will you be called to lay hands on someone for deliverance? Will you be sharing the gospel and ministering to the lost maybe in the parking lot of a grocery store or somewhere while you are out and about? Will a co-worker or the mailman say they have noticed you're "different" and ask questions.... Is your spouse 'weak in the flesh' right now and struggling or just plain exhausted and needs your Fruits of the Spirit to pour out on them and for you to intercede for them? Yeshua told us perilous time would come...He told us, “Remember the word I spoke to you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will persecute you also. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also." John 15:20 TLV We do not know from one day to the next what may happen or when Yah may call us to the frontline of active duty. But I saw a sign once and I would like to get it for my home and it hangs by the door and says, "YOU ARE NOW ENTERING THE MISSION FIELD" and it's true you are...mission field/war zone. There is a spiritual battle being waged and we must be in it and be prepared to do what is called of us to do. Furthermore for those that are parents we are instructed in the Shema in Duet 6 (full scripture above) to teach our children DILIGENTLY when they rise up, when we walk throughout the day, and when they go to sleep.... This is not fluffy repetitive meal time prayers and "down I lay me down to sleep" prayers although for very small children there is nothing wrong with that. But the enemy is coming after our children through the :Public school system with their prideful love of sin, peer pressure, magazines, music, movies, video games, access to online pornography and as disgusting as it is now being discovered even pornographic books in school libraries... enemy forces are not holding back and neither can we. Let your children witness you intercede for others teach them how to pray effectively and with confidence. Read the Bible with them. Celebrate the Feasts and explain them to your children. Teach them, teach them, teach them and give them opportunities to shine in fellowship, prayer, giving etc. Teach them to be leaders and not followers, to refuse to compromise the Truth regardless of it's offence to the world and to be allegiant to Yah alone. We serve a KING who rules a KINGDOM not of this world. We are in the world but not of it. Be serious about KINGDOM work sometimes the battle is outside your home and you enter the mission/battle field when you step out the door... But sometimes you find the battle has crept into your home and is causing strife. Take back what belongs to the KINGDOM, and cover your children, spouse, home in prayer and refuse to be moved by what is seen. "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of realities not seen." Heb 11:1 TLV It is high time for the remnant, children of Yah, to RISE UP and seriously take this walk and journey for what it is. Study that section of scripture Ephes. 6: 11-20 and see how today can be different than any other day and how you can actively practice walking this out daily and pushing back against the schemes of the devil... "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the worldly forces of this darkness, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you may be able to resist when the times are evil, and after you have done everything, to stand firm. 14 Stand firm then! " Shalom to you wherever you find yourself in the battle. Remember who goes before you and who stands behind you. He is "I AM THAT I AM" you, dear friend, are never alone. “I, I am Adonai-- and there is no savior beside Me. 12 I alone declared, saved and proclaimed, and not some foreign god among you. So you are My witnesses” —it is a declaration of Adonai-- “and I am God. 13 From eternity, I am He. None can deliver from My hand. I act, and who can reverse it?” ISA 43: 11-13 Hello Friends! I hope you have been well. This really is something to be taught in a series as it is a skill developed with: time, knowledge, and relationship. Your relationship and depth of relationship with Adonai will change as you mature and grow and so will your prayers. So this part 1! To really walk in our rights as an heir to the kingdom of Yah (God) we must settle on the integrity of the Word of Yah and understand who we are. 1) Who are the children of Yah (God)? Is everyone a child of Yah (God)?
2) The Word of Yah is alive:
Know that the Word is exactly who He says He is. The Word of Yah (God) is Yeshua, "And the Word became flesh and tabernacled among us. JN1:14" The Word is "living and active" and "able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart" 3) You and your word are 1.
Once you settle on the integrity of Yah's (God's) Word then you will know on that solid ROCK you can stand. You can trust for He will not be moved. That changes your whole prayer perspective! For Part 1 I haven't really even gotten into the praying part.... Let us 1st understand where we stand and that we serve a faithful God, "who is able to do far beyond all that we ask or imagine, by means of His power that works in us, to Him be the glory in the community of believers and in Messiah Yeshua throughout all generations forever and ever! Amen." Ephesians 3:20-21 TLV This is a topic the modern/western worldview body of believers has been heavily influenced by Roman teachings and is distorted. The Torah. So let's dive right in and get some clarity! "for God is not a God of unruliness (confusion) but of shalom." 1 Cor. 14:33 CJB Whoever has my COMMANDS and KEEPS THEM is the one who loves me, and the one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and reveal myself to him.” (Jhn) 14:21 CJB The Messiah REEDEEMED US FROM THE CURSE pronounced in the Torah (law) by becoming cursed on our behalf; for the Tanakh says, “Everyone who hangs from a stake comes under a curse.” Galatians 3:13 CJB Does it follow that we abolish Torah by this trusting? Heaven forbid! On the contrary, we confirm Torah. Romans 3:31 CJB Therefore, what are we to say? That the Torah is sinful? Heaven forbid! Rather, the function of the Torah was that without it, I would not have known what sin is. For example, I would not have become conscious of what greed is if the Torah had not said, “Thou shalt not covet.” But sin, seizing the opportunity afforded by the commandment, worked in me all kinds of evil desires — for apart from Torah, sin is dead. I was once alive outside the framework of Torah. But when the commandment really encountered me, sin sprang to life, and I died. The commandment that was intended to bring me life was found to be bringing me death! For sin, seizing the opportunity afforded by the commandment, deceived me; and through the commandment, sin killed me. So the Torah is holy; that is, the commandment is holy, just and good. Romans 7:7-12CJB
So : You are to love Adonai your God with all your heart, soul, and strength and love your neighbor as yourself "All of the Torah and the Prophets are dependent on these two mitzvot.” These 2 commandments Yeshua (Jesus) refers to here sum up the 10 commandments the first 4 Commandments are how to love Yah (God) and the last 6 are how to love others. The 10 commandments are a sum of the greater 600+ instructions given it the First (Old) Testament. Yeshua said, Don’t think that I have come to abolish the Torah or the Prophets. I have come not to abolish but to complete. Yes indeed! I tell you that until heaven and earth pass away, not so much as a yud or a stroke will pass from the Torah — not until everything that must happen has happened. So whoever disobeys the least of these mitzvot and teaches others to do so will be called the least in the Kingdom of Heaven. But whoever obeys them and so teaches will be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven. Matt. 5: 17-19 CJB Paul said: But this I do admit to you: I worship the God of our fathers in accordance with the Way (which they call a sect). I continue to believe everything that accords with the Torah and everything written in the Prophets. And I continue to have a hope in God — which they too accept — that there will be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous. Acts 24:14CJB In reply, Sha’ul (Paul) said, “I have committed no offense — not against the Torah to which the Jews hold, not against the Temple, and not against the Emperor.” Acts 25:8 CJB Come out from the traditions & teachings of men: Your word continues forever, Adonai Ps. 119:89 CJB In order to obey the mitzvot of Adonai your God which I am giving you, do not add to what I am saying, and do not subtract from it. Deuteronomy 4:2 CJB “Everything I am commanding you, you are to take care to do. Do not add to it or subtract from it. Deuteronomy 12:32 CJB PAUL: You must follow my example, as I follow the example of Messiah. (Paul does not contradict Yeshua) 1 Corinthians 11:1 CJB Yes indeed! I tell you that until heaven and earth pass away, not so much as a yud or a stroke will pass from the Torah — not until everything that must happen has happened. So whoever disobeys the least of these mitzvot (commands) and teaches others to do so will be called the least in the Kingdom of Heaven. But whoever obeys them and so teaches will be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven. Matthew 5:18-19 CJB “If you love me, you will keep my commands" (Jhn) 14:15 CJB But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. James 2:18 CJB I will show you my faith by my actions! Indeed, just as the body without a spirit is dead, so too faith without works is dead. James 2: 26 CJB A healthy tree cannot bear bad fruit, or a poor tree good fruit. Any tree that does not produce good fruit is cut down and thrown in the fire! So you will recognize them by their fruit. MATT. 7: 18-20 CJB What is sin? Everyone who keeps sinning is violating Torah — indeed, sin is violation of Torah . (1 JN) 3:4 CJB
Then I will tell them to their faces, ‘I never knew you! Get away from me, you workers of lawlessness!’ “So, everyone who hears these words of mine and acts on them will be like a sensible man who built his house on bedrock.(Mat) 7:23-24 CJB In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (Jhn) 1:1 CJB All Scripture is God-breathed and is valuable for teaching the truth, convicting of sin, correcting faults and training in right living; (2 Tim) 3:16 CJB I and the Father are one. (Jhn) 10:30 CJB My prayer is that this has helped clear up some confusion. Western believers have had a lot of The Way distorted by Roman worldviews and we need to get back to our foundation. Yeshua. Hello friends, and readers! This is a deep subject and this is not my only post about it so feel free to search the keyword "headcovering" for additional info and resources. I do enjoy using a Strong's Concordance app to dig deeper into scripture and study. So let's take a look at this section of scripture which many find confusing. In English the word "cover" is used frequently in this passage of scripture which is what has led to much of the confusion. To God’s community in Corinth—having been made holy in Messiah Yeshua, called as kedoshim(saints) —with ALL WHO EVERYWHERE call on the name of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah, both theirs and ours: Grace to you and shalom from God our Father, and the Lord Yeshua the Messiah! 1 Cor 11:1-2 TLV Paul's instructions are addressed to 'all who in every place call on the Lord Yeshua' and is based on unchangeable points. Paul's writing to the church at Corinth is telling women followers of Christ to "let her be covered" - vs 6 this is a deliberate action 'let her BE covered"; especially in the gathering together of the saints and men should be uncovered. Head covering was not simply a cultural custom for the Corinthians. :headship order: 1) Abba God➡️Yeshua(Jesus) ➡️ man➡️woman this order is timeless and not cultural. 2) God's glory: vs 7 man is God's glory and thus should not be covered.... woman is man's glory and man's glory should be covered & vs 15 woman's long hair is her glory and her glory should be covered. Thus ALL glory belongs to God. 3) vs 10 because of the angels (angels also are timeless and not relative to Corinthian culture but to the body of Christ as a whole they are in observation) This is a symbolic reminder of God's ordained order. Which serves to conceal man's glory -> woman- >and woman's glory->her hair. It also serves as a reminder of God's ordained order. But now if we look at Strong's Concordance: VS 6 For if the woman be not covered let her also be shorn (shaven): but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven let her be *covered. G2619( Katakalupto) from G2569 and G2572 to cover wholly that is veil-cover hide. Continuing down to vs. 13 "Judge in yourselves: is it comely (appropriate) that a woman pray unto God *uncovered? G177 -> akatalkaluptos a negative particle of G2596, G2572 = uncovered, unveiled. So he says, vs 6, "if the woman be NOT covered let her be shorn/shaven" per the definitions from Strong's. If she is not "veiled" G2619 let her be shorn/shaven.
