Hello scattered family and friends in Messiah! I hope you all are doing well. Confusion around this subject permeates western Christian society and churches..... Gentiles, who once were far off and without hope, have now been brought near by Messiah's blood. Romans 11 explains how we are grafted into Israel, then you are no longer an alien/stranger/gentile, but one who sojourns with Israel. Context is everything when dividing the Truth contained in Scripture. In Romans 11, Paul compares Israel to the natural branches of the olive tree (v. 19). The Gentile (non Jewish) Believers are compared to the wild olive tree (v. 19). Paul says in the opening verses of Romans 11, the Father has not rejected His Family, Israel. In fact, he says the reason the Messiah became a servant to the Jews was "…to show YHWH's truthfulness in order to confirm the promises given to the patriarchs and in order that the Gentiles might glorify Yahweh for His mercy" (Romans 15:8-12, which is quoting from 2 Samuel 22:50 and Psalm 18:49). See the church teaches by and large that "the church" replaces Israel. This is not true. Believers in Messiah are ALL Israel. People that are not of the tribe of Judah (Jews) are grafted into the **existing tree** The tree was not removed for "Christians." Christians/followers of Messiah both Jew and non-Jew became ONE under Messiah. Messiah Yeshua set the example for how ALL believers should walk out Torah and produce good fruits. There is no "gentile gate" in the new heavens and earth. There are gates for the 12 tribes of ISRAEL. Israel is both a physical land and a dispersed people. Matthew Henry's concise commentary (Read Matthew 5:17-20) "Let none suppose that Christ allows his people to trifle with any commands of God's holy law. No sinner partakes of Christ's justifying righteousness, till he repents of his evil deeds. The mercy revealed in the gospel leads the believer to still deeper self-abhorrence. The law is the Christian's rule of duty, and he delights therein. If a man, pretending to be Christ's disciple, encourages himself in any allowed disobedience to the holy law of God, or teaches others to do the same, whatever his station or reputation among men may be, he can be no true disciple. Christ's righteousness, imputed to us by faith alone, is needed by every one that enters the kingdom of grace or of glory; but the new creation of the heart to holiness, produces a thorough change in a man's temper and conduct." Unlearn the lies, friends. We keep and guard the Torah of Adonai (His mitzvot, Appointed Times, Shabbat) because it is a blessing and it is from Him. His commandments are not burdensome or too difficult.- 1JN 5:3 PART 2 TO FOLLOW..... Hello scattered family and friends in Messiah! I hope you all are doing well. Our house church: The Narrow Way Torah Observant Fellowship is going to be doing a series of teachings breaking down PS 119 These are just some of my notes from last Shabbat 11/18/23: Blessed are those whose way is blameless, who walk in the Torah of Adonai. 2 Happy are those who keep His testimonies, who seek Him with a whole heart, 3 who also do no injustice, but walk in His ways. 4 You have commanded that Your precepts be kept diligently. 5 Oh that my ways were steadfast to observe Your decrees! 6 Then I would not be ashamed, when I consider all Your mitzvot. 7 I will praise You with an upright heart as I learn Your righteous judgments. 8 I will observe Your statutes. Never abandon me utterly! Word Study: Strong's Concordance:
vs 27 Help me discern the way of Your precepts, -------> so I may meditate on Your wonders. When I deep-dive/study Scripture I often break into the Strong's Concordance and break down paragraphs piece by piece and bit by bit. So for the above we can see
For as much as the mainstream Christian church teaches people that Torah is a curse. Which is NOT Biblical. The Bible says the exact opposite. "Blessed are those who walk in the Torah of Adonai." ROM 15:13 'May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as YOU TRUST in Him so that you may overflow[ie:*to pour over the limits or fill beyond capacity-] with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. (my emphasis) ~~ I love when YHWH shows forth these little gems- I included part of the dictionary definition of "overflow" into the scripture for a deeper understanding. Let that sink in- your responsibility is to "trust in Him" SO THAT "you may overflow" or be filled beyond holding capacity-with HOPE by the power of the Holy Spirit! For historical reference: The first book of Maccabees (I Maccabees 4: 52–59) describes the ceremonies as lasting for eight days: Early in the morning on the twenty-fifth day of the ninth month, which is the month of Kislev, [164 BCE], they [the Maccabees] rose and offered sacrifice, as the law directs, on the new altar of burnt offering which they had built…There was very great gladness among the people, and the reproach of the gentiles was removed. Then Judah and his brothers and all the assembly of Israel determined that every year at that season the days of dedication of the altar should be observed with gladness and joy for eight days, beginning with the twenty-fifth day of the month of Kislev. This was probably intended to mirror Solomon’s dedication of the First Temple (I Kings 8:1–2), which took place during the eight-day holiday of Sukkot: Then King Solomon summoned into his presence at Jerusalem the elders of Israel, all the heads of the tribes and the chiefs of the Israelite families, to bring up the ark of the Lord’s covenant from Zion, the City of David. All the men of Israel came together to King Solomon at the time of the festival [of Sukkot] in the month of Ethanim (Tishrei), the seventh month. This book is about renewing the Temple cult and cleansing the Temple from defilement. The second book of the Maccabees (II Maccabees 1:1–36) describes Hanukkah as a Sukkot of the winter and as a “festival of the fire.” Shabbat Shalom scattered family in Messiah!
