Hello scattered family and friends in Messiah! I hope you all are doing well. Self evaluation: are you walking through life hurriedly, anxious, feeling burdened? striving, v: exert oneself vigorously, making great efforts to achieve or obtain something vs Striding, v:walking with long decisive steps in a specific direction. Stop striving : "Come to Me all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."-Matt 11: 28 If you hold His hand and walk in pace with Him. You won't feel rushed, anxious, overwhelmed... "He continued walking" through the panic, bustle, surge of emotions etc around Him. He kept His stride...and walked. striving, v: exert oneself vigorously, making great efforts to achieve or obtain something vs Striding, v: walking with long decisive steps in a specific direction. Stop striving; see the story of Jairus and his dying daughter (Mark 5:21-43) Jairus came to Yeshua rightly concerned and emotional...in all that was around Yeshua and a woman within the crowd was also seeking healing and touched Yeshua , taking his attention away from Jairus momentarily.... Yeshua never got anxious, rushed etc. While in the crowd and bustle Jairus rcvd word his daughter had died... can you imagine? Vs 36 As soon as Yeshua heard the word that was spoken, He said to Jairus, "Do not be afraid, only believe." Yeshua NEVER broke His pace, He didn't panic and run towards the house... "He continued walking...." vs 40-41 they ridiculed Him...He took the mother and father of the child, and those who were with Him, and entered where the child was lying. Then He took the child by the hand and said to her, "Little girl, I say to you, arise" Immediately the girl rose and walked... And the shalom of YHWH which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Messiah Yeshua. - Phil 4:7 Be still and know that I AM God. Hello scattered family and friends in Messiah! I hope all of you are well. Well.... we live in a time of mass confusion as people fall away from the Truth and all types of lawlessness (sin) is glorified, even idolized. Most churches are not even teaching the fullness of YHWH's Word. Strange teachings crop up from time to time. But we can always turn to the source of Truth and must weed through the mire and follow the Shepherd and He will lead us and lose none of His. But when the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on His own; but whatever He hears, He will tell you. And He will declare to you the things that are to come. He will glorify Me, because He will take from what is Mine and declare it to you. Everything that the Father has is Mine. For this reason I said the Ruach will take from what is Mine and declare it to you.” John 16: 13-15 TLV YHWH did not leave us helpless, and, in fact told us in advance to prepare for such warfare. --> Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you are able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the worldly forces of this darkness, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you may be able to resist when the times are evil, and after you have done everything, to stand firm. Stand firm then! Buckle the belt of truth around your waist, and put on the breastplate of righteousness. Strap up your feet in readiness with the Good News of shalom. Above all, take up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish ALL the flaming arrows of the evil one. And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Ephes 6: 10-17 TLV If you love Me, you will keep My commandments. I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper so He may be with you forever— the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not behold Him or know Him. >>>>You know Him, because He abides with you and will be in you. <<<<I will not abandon you as orphans; I will come to you. John 14:15-18 TLV
John 6:39 TLV
Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership is there between righteousness and lawlessness? Or what fellowship does light have with darkness? What harmony does Messiah have with Belial? Or what part does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? What agreement does God’s Temple have with idols? For we are the temple of the living God—just as God said, “I will dwell in them and walk among them; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. Therefore, come out from among them, and be separate, says Adonai. Touch no unclean thing. Then I will take you in. I will be a father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, says Adonai-Tzva’ot.” 2 Cor 6: 14-18 TLV To Him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear His voice. The shepherd calls His own sheep by name and leads them out. “When He has brought out all His own, He goes ahead of them; and the sheep follow Him because they know his voice. They will never follow a stranger, but will run away from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.” John 10:3-5 TLV I am amazed that you are so quickly turning away from the One who called you by the grace of Messiah, to a different “good news”— not that there is another, but only some who are confusing you and want to distort the Good News of Messiah. But even if we (or an angel from heaven) should announce any “good news” to you other than what we have proclaimed to you, let that person be cursed! As we have said before, so I now repeat: if anyone proclaims to you “good news” other than what you received, let that person be under a curse! Am I now trying to win people’s approval, or God’s? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Messiah. Gal 1:6-10 In all the passages dealing with spiritual warfare, there are no instructions to cast a demon out of a believer (Ephesians 6:10-18). Believers are told to resist the devil (James 4:7; 1 Peter 5:8-9), not to cast him out in regard to believers. Demons are routinely cast out of the unbelievers. The apostle John declares, “You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the One who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world” (1 John 4:4). Who is the One in us? The Ruach Ha'Kodesh (Holy Spirit.) Who is the one in the world? Satan and his demons. Therefore, the believer has overcome the world of demons, and the case for demon possession of a believer cannot be made scripturally. It is important that we do not allow personal experience to influence our interpretation of Scripture. Rather, we must filter our personal experiences through the truth of Scripture (2 Timothy 3:16-17). Our experiences must meet the test of Scripture, not the other way around. There is a distinct difference between being possessed by a demon and being oppressed or influenced by a demon. Demon possession involves a demon having direct/complete control over the thoughts and/or actions of a person (Matthew 17:14-18; Luke 4:33-35; 8:27-33). Demon oppression or influence involves a demon or demons attacking a person spiritually and/or encouraging him/her into sinful behavior. "You have overcome them because GREATER IS HE that is in you than he that is in the world--"For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall again into fear; rather, you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” Romans 8:15 TLV
Walk in the Truth and let no one lead you astray. ***So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed!*** John 8:36 TLV AMEN!! Phil 4:13 Hello friends and scattered family in Messiah! Adults and children alike need "training in righteousness." Discipline, training, and instruction can take various forms. Whenever the opportunity presents itself, my husband and I, like to put training into application & practice for the kids. Our children are a blessing given to us by Yah and it is our commanded opportunity to: train them, teach them, & disciple them in His ways.
So, recently our children have become quite argumentative and focused on *self* rather than each other. This is quite typical of the human condition= sinful.
So I thought to myself: How can I correct AND teach them? We discussed it as a family one day prior to the start of school and they contributed their ideas, as well after, reviewing scripture:
This is what we came up with together: Each child is responsible for giving 3 compliments, words of encouragement, affirmations to their other 2 siblings. (training in the power of the tongue, Prov 18:21) ALONG WITH 2 acts of kindness each day. ( But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deluding yourselves. James 1:22 TLV) To keep track I created a Microsoft Word document. This is a real life application to help them APPLY the Word in daily life by being: thoughtful, an encouragement, kind, loving etc One of the benefits of homeschooling is the opportunity to train in character development (Fruits of the Spirit) and Biblical apologetics among others. I hope sharing this has in some way encouraged or helped one of you! This is just as easily applied to yourself as a practice exercise/application of the Word. As adults, we too, can set the goal (whatever # you prefer to use) to complete: 3 acts of kindness daily and speak 3-5 encouraging/uplifting things to those around us (be it our children, husband, co-workers, friends etc) These are Biblical applications that can always be in practice whether adult or child. Phil 4:13 Well hello friends and scattered family in Messiah! So there's a lot that can be said about Biblical womanhood, character, virtue..... etc. It's a broad topic and this wee little blog post is barely scratching the surface. Abba Yah recently spoke this verse to me (1 Peter 3:3-4) specifically as my husband and I were going through some challenges. I took down some bullet points that I aim to work on:
Marriage has been a beautiful journey unlike any other. A journey of happiness, and tears...a journey of laughs, and disagreements... a journey of distance and growth. Marriage also involves a lot of growing/maturing. The intimacy between the two people involved goes so much deeper than anything simply physical. My husband is my best friend, he sees all those different sides of me. He knows me better than any other person ever will. No matter what we go through or what we have been through the picture is "US" and then - everyone else- we are ONE. This last situation has brought us closer, we came out stronger, together. Glory be to Yah for all He has done! So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no man separate.- Matt 19:6 TLV AMEN! Let us all as believers in Messiah be willing to: Do nothing out of selfishness or conceit, but with humility consider others as more important than yourselves, looking out not only for your own interests but also for the interests of others. Phil 2:3-4 TLV Until next time: May Adonai bless and keep you as you: press on pursuing the goal for the reward of the upward calling of God in Messiah Yeshua. Phil 4:13 Hello friends and readers! Sometimes our topics require quite a bit of expounding this one, not so much... The following scriptures explain how we are to handle these delicate situations. But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and strife and disputes about Torah, for they are unprofitable and useless. Dismiss a quarrelsome person after a first and second warning, knowing that such a person is twisted and is sinning—he is self- condemned. TITUS 3:9-11TLV Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught doing something wrong, you who are directed by the Ruach, restore such a person in a spirit of gentleness—looking closely at yourself so you are not tempted also. Bear one another’s burdens, and in this way you fulfill the Torah of Messiah. Galatians 6:1-2 TLV proclaim the Word! Be ready when it is convenient or inconvenient. Confront, rebuke, encourage—with complete patience and instruction. 2 Timothy 4:2 TLV “Now if your brother sins against you, go and show him his fault while you’re with him alone. If he listens to you, you have won your brother. But if he does not listen, take with you one or two more, so that ‘by the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may stand.’ But if he refuses to listen to them, tell it to Messiah’s community. And if he refuses to listen even to Messiah’s community, let him be to you as a pagan and a tax collector. Matthew 18:15-17 TLV
But we are not of those who fall back....we are of those who, "press on pursuing the goal for the reward of the upward calling of God in Messiah Yeshua." Phil 4:13 |
