Hello scattered family and friends in Messiah! I hope you all are doing well. I hope you had a : blessed, reflective and repentant Yom Kippur/Day of Atonement. This blog post ties in nicely with repentance and reflection. Temptation/desire/sin (lawlessness) Well, well.... But each one is tempted when he is dragged away and enticed by his own desire. Then when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and when sin is full grown, it brings forth death. James 1:14-15
Temptation cannot exist where desire does not first exist. Scripture teaches that desire brings temptation. The issue here is the desires of the heart. When does temptation occur? After one is -dragged away and enticed by his OWN DESIRE- James 1:15 All temptation can do is point out the opportunity to fulfill a PRE-existing desire. The only way to transform your desires is: Yeshua. Therefore submit to God. But resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded! Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned into mourning, and your joy into gloom. Humble yourselves in the sight of Adonai, and He shall lift you up. James 4: 7-10 Until next time: May Adonai bless and keep you as you: press on pursuing the goal for the reward of the upward calling of God in Messiah Yeshua. Hello scattered family and friends in Messiah! I hope you all are doing well. But whoever keeps His word, in him the love of God is truly made perfect. We know that we are in Him by this— whoever claims to abide in Him must walk just as He walked. 1 JN 2:5-6 TLV How did He walk? As the living example of Torah in the flesh. John 1:14 TLV And the Word became flesh and tabernacled among us. The easiest place to start is by incorporating the practice of keeping Shabbat. Observing Shabbat is where my family started as well, other reasons:
If you need to connect with a WHOLE BIBLE FELLOWSHIP near you: It’s easier to navigate this walk with community and fellowship. Chances are getting better that there’s one near you. Even if there’s not, it’s worth the drive! We know that we love God’s children by this—when we love God and OBEY HIS COMMANDMENTS. For this is the LOVE of God—that we KEEP His COMMANDMENTS. And His COMMANDMENTS are NOT burdensome. 1 John 5:2-3 TLV
Most of the western church is following man-made doctrine, "holidays," & customs handed down by the pope/Catholic church with NO scripture to support such practices. People blindly follow due to tradition. But didn't Yeshua chastise the pharisees for doing the same thing!? “Do not think that I came to abolish the Torah or the Prophets! I did not come to abolish, but to fulfill. Amen, I tell you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or serif shall ever pass away from the Torah until all things come to pass. Therefore, whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others the same, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven. But whoever keeps and teaches them, this one shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. Matt 5: 17-19 Why did He fulfill the Torah? So He could be our sinless lamb. He had to walk in Torah completely so that the curse could be demolished *Messiah liberated us from Torah’s curse, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree* Gal4:13 The Scriptures show that Paul, an apostle personally trained by Yeshua, was still Torah observant some 25 years after his conversion, would that cause you to rethink the traditions of church fathers (men who did not write Scripture) who say the opposite? So we come down to this:
Remember YHWH set forth HOW He wants to be worshipped. He deems what is acceptable and unacceptable. These are the appointed moadim of Adonai, which you are to proclaim to be holy convocations—My moadim. Lev 23:2 His commandments are a blessing! This journey with Messiah is life changing and so refreshing! May your walk be blessed! Until next time: May Adonai bless and keep you as you: press on pursuing the goal for the reward of the upward calling of God in Messiah Yeshua. Phil 4:13 Hello friends and scattered family in Messiah! I hope this finds you well. Today I'm going to post one of my husband's recent messages/teaching. May this Word encourage you today to challenge yourself to stretch and strengthen the application in your own life and walk with Messiah. Shine bright friends! But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deluding yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his natural face in a mirror— for once he looks at himself and goes away, he immediately forgets what sort of person he was. But the one who looks intently into the perfect Torah, the Torah that gives freedom, and continues in it, not becoming a hearer who forgets but a doer who acts—he shall be blessed in what he does. James 1:22-25 TLV 1 Cor 13:1-8 If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels but have not love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and know all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith so as to remove mountains but have not love, I am nothing. If I give away all that I own and if I hand over my body so I might boast but have not love, I gain nothing. Love is patient, love is kind, it does not envy, it does not brag, it is not puffed up, it does not behave inappropriately, it does not seek its own way, it is not provoked, it keeps no account of wrong, it does not rejoice over injustice but rejoices in the truth; it bears all things, it believes all things, it hopes all things, it endures all things. Love never fails-- but where there are prophecies, they will pass away; where there are tongues, they will cease; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.
Jer 17:9 “The heart is deceitful above all things, and incurable—who can know it?” JN3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. " MT 18:21-22 “Then Peter came to Him and said, “Master, how often shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times?” Matt 5:38-48 “You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.’ l But I tell you, do not resist an evildoer. But whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn to him also the other. And the one wanting to sue you and to take your shirt, let him also have your coat. Whoever forces you to go one mile, go with him two. Give to the one who asks of you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you. “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor[m] and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Even the tax collectors do the same, don’t they? And if you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than anyone else? Even the pagans do that, don’t they? Therefore be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.” Rom 12:2 Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the will of God—what is good and acceptable and perfect. This week and moving forward, thoughtfully and prayerfully apply the scriptures to your life and at work in your life. --But the one who looks intently into the perfect Torah, the Torah that gives freedom, and continues in it, not becoming a hearer who forgets but a doer who acts--he shall be blessed in what he does.-- James 1:25 TLV (JH-> my husband's teaching, 1/28/22- The Narrow Way Torah Observant Fellowship)) YOU CAN NOW CONNECT WITH US ON FACEBOOK HERE! : (1) Pursuing the upward call | Facebook This is a public "personal blog" pg via Facebook to make it easier for readers to connect and share. Phil 4:13 Well hello again friends, readers, and scattered family in Messiah!
I hope all of you are doing well as we near our weekly blessing of Shabbat. Counting down to sunset Friday eve..... Let's chat: I know at least for myself the past 3-4 months have really been a struggle/battle with anxiety due to some changes that were not going particularly well. My "fight or flight" was in full swing as I was frantically: looking, planning, seeking solutions..... Lo and behold Abba Yah had a plan I was unaware of that was unfolding behind the scenes that took into consideration everything I was freaking out about. Today after 3 months of: crying, fretting, anxiousness, lost sleep.....etc.... Problem solved and it was not solved at my hand or by my "grand plan." I imagine He must have been staring at me blankly shaking His head, "o daughter of little faith" I feel awful too. I know everyone has jokes about the lack of faith of the wandering Israelites.... how could they have lacked faith after all they had seen and experienced.... *crickets* well.... I know better. I know Him better.... Repentance is needed here, a U-turn in every sense of the word. Anxiety /fear/depression are such prisons. They may not have literal shackles but they are prisons. Do not be anxious about anything--but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the shalom of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Messiah Yeshua Phil 4: 6-7TLV Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable—if there is any virtue and if there is anything worthy of praise—dwell on these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—put these things into practice, and the God of shalom will be with you Phil 4:8-9 TLV When anxiety, fear, depression etc come to grip you and drag you away in those shackles... Think on these things {Phil 4:8-9} submit EVERYTHING to Yah in prayer WITH THANKSGIVING =the shalom of God will guard your hearts and minds in Messiah Yeshua. {Phil 4:6-7} Put on some worship music, journal, take a walk, pray .... do what you have to do but break the line of thought to destruction...break the line of thought to anxiety and "fix your eyes on Yeshua", the initiator and perfecter of faith- Hebrews 12: 2 Until next time: May Adonai bless and keep you as you: press on pursuing the goal for the reward of the upward calling of God in Messiah Yeshua. Phil 4:13 song: click link: (1) Keep Following- Cain (Lyrics) | On The Edge Lyrics - YouTube Hello friends and readers! What a blessed prep day! I hope this finds you well today. Well this life Lesson from an old memory came up on my timeline from 9/2013 (now I know about what was going on during this time... stretch of 5-6 years were some of the most difficult for me) ~~But here is what Yah spoke to me through some of those difficulties....Some of the hurts that were caused left lasting physical issues that will not go away. The emotional strife of the time, and the complexity of the situation that came with it were extremely challenging. Even so, Yah, took what looked to be a very depressing and sad situation and brought about: resolution, restoration, and forgiveness in some interesting and blessed ways. His ways are not our ways. He has restored everything to me that would have otherwise been lost. Including, the shalom & growth that comes with forgiveness. 1) The beginning of strife is like letting out water-- so stop a quarrel before it breaks out. Prov 17:14 TLV 2.) Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves in tender compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience-- bearing with one another and forgiving each other, if anyone has a grievance against another. Just as the Lord pardoned you, so also you must pardon others. Col 3:12-13 TLV
3.) Through when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect work, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. James 1: 2-5
4.) But the fruit of the Ruach is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control—against such things there is no law. Gal 65:22-23 TLV 5.) A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. Prov 15: 1 TLV 6.) Know this, my dear brothers and sisters: let every person be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger. James 1:19 TLV 7.) "Confess your tresspasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed." James 5:16 TLV We all fall short of the glory of God- Rom 3:23 Now that situation got resolved and I grew through it and Yah did some marvelous things for me and our family. A lot of growing is still left to be done! I mess up too and my tongue is often my downfall- BUT "Though a righteous man falls seven times, he will get up" Prov 24:16 TLV Amen & Amen!! Rise up, repent, and keep marching after Messiah! Grow, mature, do better. Everyday is a new opportunity and we can continue to grow into the likeness of Messiah. "This I recall to my heart-- therefore I have hope: Because of the mercies of Adonai we will not be consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning! Great is Your faithfulness. “Adonai is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in Him.” Lam 3: 21-24 TLV Until next time: May Adonai bless and keep you as you: press on pursuing the goal for the reward of the upward calling of God in Messiah Yeshua. Phil 4:13 Men should encourage men to be godly. Iron sharpens iron.
• What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin so that grace may abound? May it never be! How can we who died to sin still live in it? Or do you not know that all of us who were immersed into Messiah Yeshua were immersed into His death? Therefore we were buried together with Him through immersion into death—in order that just as Messiah was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life. Rom 6: 1-4 TLV • Let another praise you and not your own mouth, a stranger and not your own lips. Prov 27:2 TLV • For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many Mark 10:45 TLV (be prepared to serve as Messiah) • Let no one look down on your youthfulness, but become an example of the faithful—in speech, in conduct, in love, in faithfulness, and in purity. 1 Tim. 4:12 TLV (lead by example) • (if married) Husbands, love your wives just as Messiah also loved His community and gave Himself up for her. Ephes. 5:25 TLV • Flee from sexual immorality! Every other sin that a man commits is outside the body—but the one committing sexual immorality sins against his own body. 1 Cor 6:18 TLV (lives in sexual purity, honoring God with his body)
The godly Woman
* These scriptures are by no means exhaustive. I encourage everyone to: "present yourself before God as tried and true, as an unashamed worker cutting a straight path with the Word of Truth. " 2 Tim 15 TLV * Not quoting scripture, however, a godly man will: keep his word, pursue the woman of his interest, maintain Biblical standards, lead her towards Yah (not towards sin), and encourage Biblical growth. Until next time: May Adonai bless and keep you as you: press on pursuing the goal for the reward of the upward calling of God in Messiah Yeshua. Phil 4:13 Hello friends and readers! May this post find you well, prayerfully, uplift, encourage, and maybe challenge as well.... let's grow together.
But if we walk in the light as He Himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another and the blood of His Son Yeshua purifies us from all sin (1 John 1:7 TLV ). To walk in the light means to walk in the Torah (Proverbs 6:23).
So the *mitzvah* ->commandment is a lamp, Torah a light.
This is living the process of sanctification "For the mitzvah is a lamp, Torah a light" Prov. 6:23 The Torah is the: rod, the light, the narrow path that leads us in the footsteps of the, Master Yeshua, and the blood of Yeshua, "purifies us from all sin." STRONGS: 38. hagiasmos Sanctification:
The Torah, indeed, sets us apart, in covenant to Yah as His people. Set apart, from all other people, because we choose to obey/guard His commands, His Holy Moedim, and walk in His ways separate from the world. For this is the will of God—your sanctification- 1 Thess 4:3 TLV Therefore, come out from among them, and be separate, says Adonai. Touch no unclean thing. Then I will take you in. I will be a father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, says Adonai-Tzva’ot.”2 Cor 6;17-18 TLV If we say we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we say we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us. 1 John 1:8-10 TLV Everyone who keeps sinning is violating Torah — indeed, sin is violation of Torah. 1 John 3:4 While keeping/guarding Torah and the moedim is not going to save anyone.... it is a joy to be pleasing to Adonai and there is a blessed peace and rest that comes in doing those things that are pleasing to Him. It is not a struggle or hardship. It certainly is not bondage as most of the western church would have people confused into believing. Through belief in Yeshua, the Indwelling Set-apart Spirit gives the believer the "want to" and the "power to" be obedient. This is the "Good News" we are commanded to tell all people. (Eze. 36:25-27, Jer. 31:31-34, Rom. 7:18-8:4, Mark 16:15-16) Moreover I will give you a new heart. I will put a new spirit within you. I will remove the stony heart from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Ruach within you. Then I will cause you to walk in My laws, so you will keep My rulings and do them. - Ezek 36:26 TLV AMEN! LET US BE FAITHFUL IN WAITING until He returns!! HALLELUYAH! Have a blessed and restful Shabbat scattered family in Messiah as we continue counting the Omer down to Shavuot! Until next time: May Adonai bless and keep you as you: press on pursuing the goal for the reward of the upward calling of God in Messiah Yeshua. Phil 4:13 Hello friends and scattered family in Messiah! I hope you all have been well. There were no new posts last week for a few reasons. 1) The kids are on spring break 2) I started a new job and am still in training so I don't have much time to do anything outside of that and being a wife and mommy....taking care of the house, kids, and their extra curricular activities..... Even my studies for school have been on hold because I just don't have the time or energy to stay up and study right now. But the new opportunity is a blessing and does fit in line with my current education goals. Abba Yah is good! As you can see this weekend we did put up the "remembrance cloth" over our door for Passover. We have been using the Spring Feasts book for the kids Shabbat lessons as well.... ( Shop for Ages 6-12 – Bible Pathway Adventures) Here in a few weeks we will have our annual "The Prince of Egypt" movie night and I will take the kids to go grab: candy, chips, and snacks of their choice as we review the Passover. All in all as we ramp up for the Spring Feasts excitement is in the air.... Until next time, Blessings and Shalom as you continue to "pursue the upward calling of God in Messiah Yeshua"-Phil 4:13 *side note DISCLAIMER: I do not receive compensation from ANY of the resources I share or use. They are just resources, curriculum, etc that have blessed our family and may bless yours!* |
