Hello scattered friends and family in Messiah! I love to read! I am reading 3 books right now:
However, I am typing today to share a bit of what I learned from my reading today: "Walking in the dust of Rabbi Jesus (Yeshua)"- Lois Tverberg She explains that mainstream Christians tend to take an "all or nothing," approach to Torah (pg 137). We, our family, and fellowship do not do that because we understand it is a lifelong process of growth/sanctification. It is better to KEEP the Torah and guard it to the best of your current: ability, growth, and understanding. That ability will grow as your relationship with YHWH grows and you flex working those muscles of faith + obedience. Contrary, "In their (Jewish) minds, the Law teaches them how to live in a way that pleases a loving God and upholds their covenantal relationship. Because of this, Judaism often shows a surprising pragmatism toward people's weaknesses. People are encouraged to keep aiming to obey God's laws, even if they do so imperfectly. The idea is that if you can't be entirely obedient, do your best to do what you and can and try even harder tomorrow." (pg 137) AMEN! "If you are not going to be better tomorrow than you were today, then what need have you for tomorrow?- Rabbi Nachman of Braztlav (1772-1810) I have shared this many times and up front Christians often "like" the posts or commentary but don't push themselves deeper into keeping: Torah, Feast Days, Shabbat as instructed in Scripture and lived out by Messiah Yeshua as our example: You are saved by grace through faith so that no man can boast... And justified apart from works, correct... but let's continue... The outworking or fruit of salvation is keeping Yeshua's commandments (Torah) If you love Me, you will keep My commandments: John 14:15 For He said: "Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore by their fruits you will know them."Matthew 7:17-20 ) as the scripture says: Do we then nullify the Law by this faith [making the Law of no effect, overthrowing it]? Certainly not! On the contrary, we confirm and establish and uphold the Law (Torah) [since it convicts us all of sin, pointing to the need for salvation].Romans 3:31 AMP "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law (Torah)or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them, but to fulfill them. For I tell you truly, until heaven and earth pass away, not a single jot, not a stroke of a pen, will disappear from the Law (Torah)until everything is accomplished. (Is everything accomplished yet? No.) So then, whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do likewise will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven" (Matthew 5:18).
> But we know that the Torah is good if one uses it legitimately- 1 Tim 1:8 > So then, the Torah is holy, and the commandment is holy and righteous and good. Rom 7:12 > So you are to keep My statutes and My ordinances. The one who does them will live by them. I am Adonai. Lev 18:5 The Torah of Adonai is perfect, restoring the soul. The testimony of Adonai is trustworthy, making the simple wise. 9 The precepts of Adonai are right, giving joy to the heart. The mitzvot of Adonai are pure, giving light to the eyes. 10 The fear of Adonai is clean, enduring forever. The judgments of Adonai are true and altogether righteous. 11 They are more desirable than gold, yes, more than much pure gold! They are sweeter than honey and drippings of the honeycomb. 12 Moreover by them Your servant is warned. In keeping them there is great reward. PS 19: 8-12 THE TORAH OF ADONAI IS PERFECT. Yeshua did not come to abolish the Torah/Law. The Torah brings: joy and blessings, restores the soul, makes the simple wise, gives light to the eyes, and is more desireable than gold, in keeping His Commands is "great reward." Oh how the community of Messiah has been misled by Catholic heresies and modern watery sermons.... Finally then, brothers and sisters, we ask you and appeal in the Lord Yeshua—just as you received from us the way you ought to walk and please God (as in fact you are walking)—that you keep progressing more and more. 2 For you know what instructions we gave you through the Lord Yeshua. 3 For this is the will of God--your sanctification 1 Thess 4:1-3 If you cannot stop yelling at your kids... yell less today than the day before. If you struggle submitting to your husband; pick 1 area to submit to him in genuine obedience. If you cannot stop gossiping altogether- gossip less, set apart maybe an hour or two to do nothing but uplift and encourage others and keep all negativity in your mind and lay before YHWH when those intrusive thoughts come up. Take 1 step. Take another step. Keep coming, keep submitting, keep seeking and take back the Covenant that is ours the blessings that are ours in Torah have been hidden in deception for a good 1500 years. But now for such a time as this.... there is a remnant rising coming back to HIS ways out of the traditions and denominations of men. Out of the divisions and lukewarm... We are rising as we rise let's bring another brother or sister to freedom from deception....then we can both go back for another lost soul or another sibling left in the bondage of lies... 1 by 1 let us leave "Egypt" and cross over as Hebrews into His ways: His Torah, His Appointed Days, His Shabbat as we are SET APART unto Him. Hello scattered family and friends in Messiah! I hope you all are doing well! When I wrote: Ambassador for the King part 1 & 2 this is the general message I was aiming to get across to people. We the mispacha of Elohim DO NOT BELONG TO AMERICA or any worldly nation/kingdom. Brethren we need to "come out of her" Out of the cultural norms of America and back to the culture of HIS KINGDOM. Yes, this does include the culture of: Shabbat and Appointed Times...of keeping the Commandments and walking in love as an ambassador for Messiah. But it is so much more! As believers in Messiah we are here on ASSIGNMENT as AMBASSADORS of a kingdom and on behalf of THE KING : We are therefore {ambassadors} for Messiah, as though God were making His appeal through us. We beg you on behalf of Messiah, be reconciled to God. II Corinthians 5:20 TLV This world is not our home, this culture is NOT our culture. The kingdoms of this earth are not our kingdoms.... If you are entangled with the back and forth of highlights of this broken country or world, LET IT GO. LIFT YOUR EYES "I think the time has come that we fully follow in the footsteps of Abraham, that we leave our nation behind rather than trying to rearrange the deck-chairs on the Titanic, and really live as foreigners and strangers until we fully realize the hope of the arrival of our King and the Kingdom of God. One of the main reasons the early Christians overcame under the harshest circumstances is that in their minds and hearts they truly left their homeland and lived as strangers and pilgrims looking by faith for Kingdom of God. This is a completely different mindset than modern American Evangelical Christianity which has been merged with patriotism. “Now the LORD had said to Abram: 'Get out of your country, From your family And from your father's house, To a land that I will show you. I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed." So Abram departed as the LORD had spoken to him, ..." (Gen. 12:1-4) "'By faith' Abraham, having been called, obeyed, migrating to the place which he was expecting to receive as the inheritance. And he left not knowing where he was going. 'By faith' he lodged in the Land of promise as a foreigner, living in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the co-heirs of the same promise. For he was waiting for the city having foundations, whose designer and fashioner is God." (Hebrews 11:8-10) IMO, we have reached the point of no return as a nation and Christians need to brace for it. The sooner we adopt the mindset of "strangers and pilgrims" living benignly in a foreign land, the better it will be for us. And it will keep us focused on "the hope set before us." That is a hard pill to swallow for the majority of Evangelical Christians. But the road to the "Promised Land" and the Kingdom of God goes through the wilderness following in the footsteps of Abraham by faith. The first step in that path definitely involves leaving our homeland behind in our hearts and minds, (Heb. 11:8-16)." - written by retired pastor See: But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the praises of the One who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.Once you were “not a people,” but now you are “God’s people.” You were shown “no mercy,” but now you have been shown “mercy.” I Peter 2:9-12 TLV " We are a people, a priesthood, a HOLY nation, a people for God's own possession---" This is not a loose use of words it is an identity that YHWH's people are beginning to wake-up to slowly as they come back into Torah covenant and keeping His commandments. Remember whom you are and to Whom you belong. You are an AMBASSADOR, a representative for the KING and kingdom. #Riseup #ambassadorforMessiah #KingdomCulture #Kingdomovereverything #allegiancetoOne IN THE WORLD BUT NOT OF THE WORLD RELATED BLOG POSTS:
Hello scattered family and friends in Messiah! I hope you all are doing well. Our house church: The Narrow Way Torah Observant Fellowship is going to be doing a series of teachings breaking down PS 119 These are just some of my notes from last Shabbat 11/18/23: Blessed are those whose way is blameless, who walk in the Torah of Adonai. 2 Happy are those who keep His testimonies, who seek Him with a whole heart, 3 who also do no injustice, but walk in His ways. 4 You have commanded that Your precepts be kept diligently. 5 Oh that my ways were steadfast to observe Your decrees! 6 Then I would not be ashamed, when I consider all Your mitzvot. 7 I will praise You with an upright heart as I learn Your righteous judgments. 8 I will observe Your statutes. Never abandon me utterly! Word Study: Strong's Concordance:
vs 27 Help me discern the way of Your precepts, -------> so I may meditate on Your wonders. When I deep-dive/study Scripture I often break into the Strong's Concordance and break down paragraphs piece by piece and bit by bit. So for the above we can see
For as much as the mainstream Christian church teaches people that Torah is a curse. Which is NOT Biblical. The Bible says the exact opposite. "Blessed are those who walk in the Torah of Adonai." Unlearn the lies, friends. We keep and guard the Torah of Adonai (His mitzvot, Appointed Times, Shabbat) because it is a blessing and it is from Him. His commandments are not burdensome or too difficult.- 1JN 5:3 Until next time: May Adonai bless and keep you as you: press on pursuing the goal for the reward of the upward calling of God in Messiah Yeshua. Stop in for a visit, invite a friend. Hope to see you all there! Hello scattered family and friends in Messiah! I hope you all are doing well. Hanukkah is nearly upon us! Let the countdown begin. For historical reference: The first book of Maccabees (I Maccabees 4: 52–59) describes the ceremonies as lasting for eight days: Early in the morning on the twenty-fifth day of the ninth month, which is the month of Kislev, [164 BCE], they [the Maccabees] rose and offered sacrifice, as the law directs, on the new altar of burnt offering which they had built…There was very great gladness among the people, and the reproach of the gentiles was removed. Then Judah and his brothers and all the assembly of Israel determined that every year at that season the days of dedication of the altar should be observed with gladness and joy for eight days, beginning with the twenty-fifth day of the month of Kislev. This was probably intended to mirror Solomon’s dedication of the First Temple (I Kings 8:1–2), which took place during the eight-day holiday of Sukkot: Then King Solomon summoned into his presence at Jerusalem the elders of Israel, all the heads of the tribes and the chiefs of the Israelite families, to bring up the ark of the Lord’s covenant from Zion, the City of David. All the men of Israel came together to King Solomon at the time of the festival [of Sukkot] in the month of Ethanim (Tishrei), the seventh month. This book is about renewing the Temple cult and cleansing the Temple from defilement. The second book of the Maccabees (II Maccabees 1:1–36) describes Hanukkah as a Sukkot of the winter and as a “festival of the fire.” Shabbat Shalom scattered family in Messiah! Self evaluation: are you walking through life hurriedly, anxious, feeling burdened? striving, v: exert oneself vigorously, making great efforts to achieve or obtain something vs Striding, v:walking with long decisive steps in a specific direction. Stop striving : "Come to Me all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."-Matt 11: 28 If you hold His hand and walk in pace with Him. You won't feel rushed, anxious, overwhelmed... "He continued walking" through the panic, bustle, surge of emotions etc around Him. He kept His stride...and walked. striving, v: exert oneself vigorously, making great efforts to achieve or obtain something vs Striding, v: walking with long decisive steps in a specific direction. Stop striving; see the story of Jairus and his dying daughter (Mark 5:21-43) Jairus came to Yeshua rightly concerned and emotional...in all that was around Yeshua and a woman within the crowd was also seeking healing and touched Yeshua , taking his attention away from Jairus momentarily.... Yeshua never got anxious, rushed etc. While in the crowd and bustle Jairus rcvd word his daughter had died... can you imagine? Vs 36 As soon as Yeshua heard the word that was spoken, He said to Jairus, "Do not be afraid, only believe." Yeshua NEVER broke His pace, He didn't panic and run towards the house... "He continued walking...." vs 40-41 they ridiculed Him...He took the mother and father of the child, and those who were with Him, and entered where the child was lying. Then He took the child by the hand and said to her, "Little girl, I say to you, arise" Immediately the girl rose and walked... Stop in for a visit, invite a friend. Hope to see you all there! Welcome back friends, readers, and new faces! I hope you have had a blessed week! The Feast of Tabernacles/Sukkot is coming up starting tomorrow EVE Friday 9/29-10/6. It is the last of the Fall Feasts and a joyous occasion. So I wanted to take some time to explain. Let's dive in! These are the moadim of Adonai (<-the feasts of the Lord) which you are to proclaim to be holy convocations, to present an offering by fire to Adonai—a burnt offering, a grain offering, a sacrifice and drink offerings, each on its own day, 38 besides those of the Shabbatot of Adonai and besides your gifts, all your vows and all your freewill offerings which you give to Adonai. 39 “So on the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you have gathered in the fruits of the land, you are to keep the Feast of Adonai for seven days. The first day is to be a Shabbat rest, and the eighth day will also be a Shabbat rest. 40 On the first day you are to take choice fruit of trees, branches of palm trees, boughs of leafy trees, and willows of the brook, and rejoice before Adonai your God for seven days. 41 You are to celebrate it as a festival to Adonai for seven days in the year. It is a statute forever throughout your generations. Leviticus 23:37-41 TLV
John 7:1-2 Therefore Yeshua (Jesus) said to them, “My time has not yet come, but your time is always at hand. 7 The world cannot hate you, but it hates Me because I testify that its works are evil. 8 You go on up to the Feast. I’m not going to this feast, because My time hasn’t yet fully come.” 9 After saying these things, He stayed in the Galilee. 10 But after His brothers went to the Feast, He also went, not openly but secretly. 11 Then the Judean leaders were searching for Him at the Feast and kept asking, “Where is that fellow?” 12 There was a lot of murmuring about Him in the crowds. Some were saying, “He is good.” But others were saying, “Not so! He leads the people astray.” 13 Yet no one spoke openly about Him for fear of the Judean leaders. 14 About halfway through the Feast, Yeshua (Jesus)went up to the Temple and began teaching. JN 7: 6-14 TLV So Paul still remained a good while. Then he took leave of the brethren and sailed for Syria, and Priscilla and Aquila were with him. He had his hair cut off at Cenchrea, for he had taken a vow. And he came to Ephesus, and left them there; but he himself entered the synagogue and reasoned with the Jews. When they asked him to stay a longer time with them, he did not consent, but took leave of them, saying, >>“I must by all means keep this coming feast in Jerusalem; but I will return again to you, God willing.” And he sailed from Ephesus.<< Acts 18:18-21 Then all the survivors from all the nations that attacked Jerusalem will go up from year to year to worship the King, Adonai-Tzva’ot, (The Lord of Hosts) and to celebrate Sukkot. 17 Furthermore, if any of the nations on earth do not go up to Jerusalem to worship the King, Adonai-Tzva’ot, they will have no rain. Zech 14: 16-17 TLV (the Feast will be kept in the future with a punishment of "no rain" for those nations which refuse) Anyone new to the Feast of Tabernacles, also known as Sukkot. Here is a simple explanation of it; It's a rehearsal for a future event where Yeshua will Tabernacle with us again, which simply means be with us.
The tent idea is a reminder we are in temporary dwelling places until we get to be with Yah permanently in the New Jerusalem, that will come down to earth. It also symbolizes the time when the Israelites were able to escape their slavery from the Egyptians and had to live in tents for 40 years. Its also a metaphor of how we escape and come out of the things of this World! Coming out of the traditions and the ways of man and religion. We hence Cross Over or Pass Over from the things of this World into the things and Ways of YHWH! This is where the word Hebrew comes from, one who has passed or crossed over! Enjoy your Tabernacle Time with Yah. He is our Banner, Covering, and Shelter. May He Overshadow us with His Glory and Presence during this set-apart Time. Be with us Always Yah in Spirit, until we are one with You permanently. Oh how we await this with great joy and anticipation. A quick google search can give you all kinds of ideas for how to decorate your own Sukkah or purchase one. The intent and motives of the heart are known by Yah and may He be with you. HalleluYah!! Have a blessed celebration rehearsal for the wedding feast to come. Do Bible things in Bible ways.... Follow the footsteps of the Master and KING. Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God of Hosts, who was and who is and who is to come!” Rev 4:8 Example Sukkah's above and below. I hope you had a : blessed, reflective and repentant Yom Kippur/Day of Atonement. This blog post ties in nicely with repentance and reflection. Temptation/desire/sin (lawlessness) Well, well.... But each one is tempted when he is dragged away and enticed by his own desire. Then when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and when sin is full grown, it brings forth death. James 1:14-15
Temptation cannot exist where desire does not first exist. Scripture teaches that desire brings temptation. The issue here is the desires of the heart. When does temptation occur? After one is -dragged away and enticed by his OWN DESIRE- James 1:15 All temptation can do is point out the opportunity to fulfill a PRE-existing desire. The only way to transform your desires is: Yeshua. Therefore submit to God. But resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded! Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned into mourning, and your joy into gloom. Humble yourselves in the sight of Adonai, and He shall lift you up. Bible notes from our family study: We are forbidden from taking the name of YHWH (or taking up the name or bearing the name, as the phrase could be translated) in a manner that is wicked, worthless, or for wrong purposes. Examples:Leviticus 19:12 and Hosea 10:4 mention not swearing falsely with YHWH'S name. YHWH'S name should not be used to deceive others. Jeremiah 23:25 says not to prophesy lies in YHWH'S name, and Leviticus 18:21 even mentions child sacrifice to Molech as something that would profane the name of the Lord. Misusing the Lord’s name is not as simplistic as saying statements like, “Oh my ____,” even if such statements are inappropriate & wrong. The wrong use of the Lord’s name, the one the Bible warns against is using YHWH'S name for evil. Doing that would require much more intent, effort, and indicate that we do not have the right relationship with Him. We should strive to exalt His name . We are therefore ambassadors for Messiah, as though God were making His appeal through us. 2 Cor 5: 20 For we are His workmanship—created in Messiah Yeshua for good deeds, which God prepared beforehand so we might walk in them. More than that I hope you had a blessed & joyful Feast of Trumpets/Yom Teruah with your fellowship, family etc! As many of you know we host a small house church (The Narrow Way Torah Observant Fellowship) and so we had a small gathering here. It was a wonderful time of celebration and fellowship. Nothing fancy. Nor does it need to be fancy. The children had a blast as well! Now that we are prepping for Yom Kippur/Day of Atonement; our family started a devotional study together. This is nice because after each section (since we are doing it as a family) the children, my husband, and myself can all type back and forth to each other with thoughts, guidance, and questions as we go. We are all pretty excited about it and the opportunity for growth in Messiah as a family as hearts and minds are prepped.
