Hello Friends and readers we are about to deep dive into Part 2 :) Let's do this: Acts 10-9: 29 Peter’s Vision The next day, as the soldiers were traveling and approaching the city, Peter went up to the rooftop to pray, at about the sixth hour. Now he became very hungry and wanted to eat; but while they were preparing something, he fell into a trance. He saw the heavens opened, and something like a great sheet coming down, lowered by its four corners to the earth. In it were all sorts of four-footed animals and reptiles and birds of the air. A voice came to him, “Get up, Peter. Kill and eat.” But Peter said, “Certainly not, Lord! For never have I eaten anything unholy or unclean.” * < - confirming Torah* Again a voice came to him, a second time: “What God has made clean, you must not consider unholy.” This happened three times, and the sheet was immediately taken up to heaven. Now while Peter was puzzling about what the vision he had seen might mean, behold, the men sent by Cornelius found Simon’s house and appeared before the gate. They called out and began to ask whether Simon, also called Peter, was staying in this place as a guest. Now while Peter was mulling over the vision, the Ruach said to him, “Look here, three men are looking for you. But get up, go downstairs, and go with them without hesitating, because I Myself have sent them.” Going down to the men, Peter said, “Here, I’m the one you’re looking for. What is the reason for your coming?” And they said, “Cornelius, a centurion, a righteous and God-fearing man well-spoken of by all the Jewish people, was directed by a holy angel to summon you to his house and to hear a message from you.” So Peter invited them in to be his guests. The next day he got up and went with them, and some of the brothers from Joppa accompanied him. Peter Goes to Cornelius The following day he entered Caesarea. Cornelius was waiting for them and had called together his relatives and close friends. As Peter entered, Cornelius met him and fell down at his feet and worshiped him. But Peter pulled him up, saying, “Stand up! I too am just a man.”Talking with him, Peter went inside and found many people gathered. >>>>He said to them, “You yourselves know that it is not permitted for a Jewish man to associate with a non-Jew or to visit him. Yet God has shown me that I should call no one unholy or unclean.<<<< So I came without objection when I was sent for. I ask, then, what is the reason why you sent for me?” Peter says, "Yet God has shown me that I should call no one unholy or unclean." And the TRUTH SHALL SET YOU FREE! Peter was confused (puzzled, mulling) over the vison. This is a man who heard teachings of Messiah first hand and received personal instruction from Yeshua the Messiah, son of YHWH for years. Why was a voice from Heaven needed to convince Peter to go? Because Cornelius wasn't Jewish, and going to his home was forbidden by Peter's tribe (Acts 10:28), though permissible according to Scripture. On his way there, the meaning of the vision became clear to Peter. >>>>He said to them, “You yourselves know that it is not permitted for a Jewish man to associate with a non-Jew or to visit him. Yet God has shown me that I should call no one unholy or unclean.<<<< -Acts 10:28 Moving on to Acts 11:4-19 TLV So Peter began explaining to them point by point, saying, “I was in the city of Joppa praying, and in a trance I saw a vision—something like a great sheet coming down, being lowered from heaven by its four corners, and it came right to me. I looked inside, considering it carefully, and saw four-footed creatures of the earth, wild animals, reptiles, and birds of the air. I also heard a voice saying, ‘Get up, Peter. Kill and eat.’ “But I said, ‘Certainly not, Lord! For never has anything unholy or unclean entered my mouth.’ But a voice from heaven answered a second time, ‘What God has made clean, you must not consider unholy.’ This happened three times, and then everything was pulled up to heaven. “At that very moment, three men arrived at the house where we were, sent to me from Caesarea. The Ruach told me to go with them without hesitating. These six brothers also went with me, and we entered the man’s house. He reported to us how he had seen an angel standing in his house and saying, ‘Send to Joppa and bring Simon called Peter. He will speak words to you by which you will be saved—you and all your household.’ “As I began to speak, the Ruach ha-Kodesh fell on them, just as on us at the beginning. And I remembered the word of the Lord, how He used to say, ‘John immersed with water, but you will be immersed in the Ruach ha-Kodesh.’ Therefore if God gave them the same gift as also to us after we put our trust in the Lord Messiah Yeshua, who was I to stand in God’s way?” When they heard this they became quiet, and they glorified God, saying, “Then even to the Gentiles God has granted repentance leading to life!”
There is One who is good! But if you want to obtain eternal life, observe the mitzvot/commandments .” The man asked him, “Which ones?” and Yeshua said, “Don’t murder, don’t commit adultery, don’t steal, don’t give false testimony honor father and mother and love your neighbor as yourself.”(Matt) 19:17-19 CJB Yeshua said to them, “Yes. I tell you that in the regenerated world, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones and judge the twelve tribes of Isra’el. Everyone who has left houses, brothers, sisters, father, mother, children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times more, and he will obtain eternal life. But many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first. (Mat) 19:28-30 CJB “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. *Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.*Matthew 5:17-19
As you read you can see the battle Paul speaks of between the 'law of sin' this is our natural state of being, in sin, in lawlessness. You can see this working within him against the Law of God/Torah. In conclusion : Who will rescue me from this body bound for death? Thanks be to God [He will]! — through Yeshua the Messiah, our Lord! To sum up: with my mind, I am a slave of God’s Torah ; but with my old nature, I am a slave of sin’s “ Torah .”(Rom) 7:24-25 CJB------ Through Yeshua we are rescued from the curse/condemnation of the Torah/ law "The Messiah redeemed us FROM THE CURSE pronounced in the Torah by becoming cursed on our behalf... ” (Gal) 3:13 CJB What is the curse? -> Hanging on a tree. And in our new nature “ ‘This is the covenant which I will make with them after those days,’ says Adonai : ‘I will put my Torah on their hearts, and write it on their minds . . . ” (Heb) 10:16 CJB One of the major problems with the Pharisees’ traditions was that they often led to the abuse and mistreatment of other people. For example, in Matthew 23 Yeshua strongly rebuked them for putting unnecessary burdens on people (verse 4), abusing widows (verse 14), neglecting justice and mercy (verse 23) and even being complicit in the murder of righteous men (verse 34-35). In another place, He scolded them for inventing a loophole that allowed them to avoid caring for their elderly parents (Mark 7:11-13). The main flaw was neglecting to show love to their fellow man.} “You have heard that our fathers were told, ‘Do not murder,’ and that anyone who commits murder will be subject to judgment. But I tell you that anyone who nurses anger against his brother will be subject to judgment; that whoever calls his brother, ‘You good-for-nothing!’ will be brought before the Sanhedrin ; that whoever says, ‘Fool!’ incurs the penalty of burning in the fire of Gei-Hinnom (hell) ! So if you are offering your gift at the Temple altar and you remember there that your brother has something against you, leave your gift where it is by the altar, and go, make peace with your brother. Then come back and offer your gift. If someone sues you, come to terms with him quickly, while you and he are on the way to court; or he may hand you over to the judge, and the judge to the officer of the court, and you may be thrown in jail! Yes indeed! I tell you, you will certainly not get out until you have paid the last penny. “You have heard that our fathers were told, ‘Do not commit adultery.’ But I tell you that a man who even looks at a woman with the purpose of lusting after her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. (Mat) 5:21-28 CJB He showed the expectation makes it a heart matter. For God knows the intentions of the heart. If you lust after a woman you have already committed adultery in your heart (and broken the law/sinned) where we fail to fulfill the law by sin (lawlessness) ->Yeshua stood in our place. We are not under the law.." What does that mean?
Rom 3:31 Do we then nullify the Torah through faithfulness? May it never be! On the contrary, we uphold the Torah. . Romans 8: 5-7 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Ruach set their minds on the things of the Ruach. For the mindset of the flesh is death, but the mindset of the Ruach is life and shalom. For the mindset of the flesh is hostile toward God, for it does not submit itself to the law of God—for it cannot. Speaking of new covenant- Ezekiel 36:26-37 TLV God in His great mercy and compassion gave says: Ezekiel 36:26-27 Moreover I will give you a new heart. I will put a new spirit within you. I will remove the stony heart from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Ruach (Spirit) within you. >>>>then I will cause you to walk in My laws, so you will KEEP My rulings and DO them. <<<<<
He made a way for us: The GOOD NEWS IS ! : Repentance is always available: Acts 3:19 "Repent then, turn to God so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord... " Matt 7:21-23 TLV “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord!’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, didn’t we prophesy in Your name, and drive out demons in Your name, and perform many miracles in Your name?’ Then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you. Get away from Me, you workers of lawlessness!’”
2Pet 3:16-18 as also in all his letters, speaking in them concerning these matters, in which some are hard to understand, which those who are untaught and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do also the other Scriptures. You, then, beloved ones, being forewarned, watch, lest you also fall from your own steadfastness, being led away with the delusion of the lawless, 18 but grow in the favour and knowledge of our Master and Saviour Yeshua Messiah. To Him be the esteem both now and to a day that abides. Amĕn. Romans 7:12-14 So that the Torah truly is set-apart, and the command set-apart, and righteous, and good. Therefore, has that which is good become death to me? Let it not be! But the sin, that sin might be manifest, was working death in me through what is good, so that sin through the command might become an exceedingly great sinner. >>> For we know that the Torah is Spiritual, but I am fleshly, sold under sin.<<< We are to teach the Word and Commandments to our children diligently... These words, which I am commanding you today, are to be on your heart. 7 You are to teach them diligently to your children, and speak of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down and when you rise up. Deut. 6:4-7
> when you walk by the way > when you lie down and when you rise up. What a privelage!
Scripture always lines up with scripture: "To whom will He teach Knowledge? To whom will He explain the message? Those just weaned from milk? Those just taken from the breast? For it be 'precept upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little, there a little" ISA 28: 9-10 TLV HalleluYah! Until next time: May Adonai bless and keep you as you: press on pursuing the goal for the reward of the upward calling of God in Messiah Yeshua. Phil 4:13

Did Messiah Yeshua declare all foods clean? Before I dig into this, plainly, NO. That would be equivalent to saying that He broke Torah, that He "changed" the Word of YHWH. He never broke Torah, "indeed sin is violation of Torah." 1 JN 3:4 Therefore Yeshua answered them, “Amen, amen I tell you, the Son cannot do anything by Himself. He can do only what He sees the Father doing. Whatever the Father does, the Son does likewise." John 5:19 TLV
What about Mark 7? People ask... well let's look and break it down: Then Yeshua called the crowd again and began saying to them, “Hear Me, everyone, and understand. There is nothing outside the man that can make him unholy by going into him. Rather, it is what comes out of the man that makes the man unholy.” Mark 7:14-16 TLV Now the Pharisees and some of the Torah scholars who had come from Jerusalem gathered around Yeshua. And they saw that some of His disciples were eating bread with unclean hands, that is, not washed. (For the Pharisees and all Jewish people do not eat unless they wash their hands up to the elbow, keeping the tradition of the elders. And when they come from the marketplace, they do not eat unless they perform a ritual washing. There are many other traditions they have received and hold, such as the washing of cups, pitchers, copper vessels.) The Pharisees and Torah scholars questioned Yeshua, “Why don’t Your disciples walk >>according to the tradition << of the elders? Why do they eat bread with unwashed hands?” And He said to them, “Rightly did Isaiah prophesy about you hypocrites, as it is written, ‘This people honors Me with their lips but their heart is far from Me. And in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’ Having left behind the commandment of God, you hold on to the tradition of men.” He was also telling them, “You set aside the commands of God, in order that you may validate your own tradition. For Moses said, ‘Honor your father and your mother,’ and, ‘He who speaks evil of father or mother must be put to death.’ But you say if anyone tells his father or mother, ‘Whatever you might have gained from me is korban (that is, an offering to God),’ then you no longer permit him to do anything for his father or mother, making void the word of God with your tradition that you’ve handed down. And you do many such things.”Mark 7: 1-13 TLV The issue at hand, to the pharisees, is that the disciples were not following the TRADITION. They were eating with unwashed hands. Yeshua, corrects them by repeatedly stating that they are, "making void the Word of God with your tradition that you've handed down. And you do many such things-" They placed heavy burdens upon men with their traditions. Today you see this in the application of: Lent, Easter, and Christmas traditions, and various other traditions that are not found in the Scriptures at all....but have been passed down through "the church" or families. That is "making void the word of God with your tradition that you've handed down. And you do many such things" Which brings us back to vs: 14-16 “Hear Me, everyone, and understand. There is nothing outside the man that can make him unholy by going into him. Rather, it is what comes out of the man that makes the man unholy.” Mark 7:14-16 TLV Ya ready?!
People are not filtering scripture with scripture.... Remember, Scripture always lines up with scripture: "To whom will He teach Knowledge? To whom will He explain the message? Those just weaned from milk? Those just taken from the breast? For it be 'precept upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little, there a little" ISA 28: 9-10 TLV Scripture expressly tells us that unclean animals are NOT FOOD and therefore are not referred to as food. example: If I have a farm with: chickens, cows, sheep etc and I tell you to go grab the dog so we can butcher it so we can have a BBQ dog for dinner. The vast majority of you would be appalled and rightly so, because, dogs are NOT FOOD. We, culturally, know that and it never need be discussed. When eating meat at a friends house or restaurant you are never going to be concerned about being served dog....because it's not food and it's not acceptable. The same principle applies. Why does Messiah say that ALL FOODS ARE CLEAN, well, because ALL FOODS are clean. Those things YHWH has declared an abomination are NOT FOOD. "This is the Torah of the animal, the bird, every living creature that moves in the waters, and every creature that creeps on the earth, to make a distinction between the unclean and the clean, and between the living thing that may be eaten and the living thing that may not be eaten.”- Lev 11:46-47 Biblically speaking dogs aren't food, although, your anger/disgust would be coming from a cultural perspective, most likely. The truth still stands that not all animals are food and those that are not are never declared clean/edible in scripture. Unclean animals, by design, are: predators, scavengers, and "vaccuum cleaners," of the earth. The Messiah simply declared that the tradition of washing hands does not make the food clean. The food you put into your body does not defile you. If we choose to consume something that Scripture calls an abomination, then we are defiled (Leviticus 11:43). The Messiah never said anything negative about Scripture's dietary commandments (mitzvah) and He never did away with or changed any of them. So then how to explain: For it does not enter into the heart but into the stomach, and then goes out into the sewer, cleansing all foods. - Mark 7:19 TLV Well it really starts with understanding 1) scripture does not contradict itself 2) Yeshua taught Torah 3) He knew His audience food = what YHWH has declared food/edible Are abominations food? NO. People knew: scavengers, pigs, spiders, crabs, shrimp, dogs, cats, lions, eagles, vultures etc were NOT FOOD. They still are not food. Part 2 following.... getting into Acts and Peter's vision..... HalleluYah!
