Hello friends and scattered family in Messiah! Teaching Apologetics to the next generation is so important. This is one of the reasons that we love Masterbooks as the base of our curriculum we build and flex from there. All of these classes seen below can be found here: Electives - Subject - Homeschool (masterbooks.com) The culture around us is terribly confused and attempting to drag all children into the mess. Standing firm in faith and arming your children with knowledge is pivotal. This, of course, is not the only way to arm your children with Apologetics knowledge to defend the faith...but it is the route we have chosen, that I am able to speak of. Many of the High School level courses are suitable for adults as well and of course you can pick and choose if you just want to order the books or if you do want to order the workbooks as well. Happy homeschool planning! YOU CAN NOW CONNECT WITH US ON OUR FACEBOOK HERE! Hello friends and scattered family in Messiah! Shabbat Shalom for this evening! So with the Fall Feasts being completed for 2022. Our "Fall Feasts" book from Bible Pathway Adventures will be put away until 2023. In lieu of that, I ordered these: Weekly Torah portion activity books for our kids' Shabbat school lessons. We will complete the Torah portion appropriate for the date on the calendar along with a reading from the prophets and New (2nd) Testament. side note: Following Torah portions is not a Biblical requirement. But studying the Word is. For now, this is one way, we are going to do that with the children. As well as, various other methods of study we use with them. *This schedule can be seen in picture #2* I pray you rest in shalom on this Shabbat and these resources are a blessing to you and your family as well! Phil 4:13 *side note DISCLAIMER: I do not receive compensation from ANY of the resources I share or use. They are just resources, curriculum, etc that have blessed our family and may bless yours!* Good morning, friends and scattered family in Messiah! Well this is something new this yr as well. This came out of the: Masterbooks, More Than Words Level 2 book that one of our children used last yr and I kept it. This yr every morning we start the day off by reading over these summarized statements and I go down the list day by day and review the scripture for one. For example: Monday I may review the scripture for: MT 5:13 You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt should lose its flavor, how shall it be made salty again? Tuesday: MT 5:14 “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden." Wednesday: JN 15:3-4 You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Abide in Me, and I will abide in you. The branch cannot itself produce fruit, unless it abides on the vine. Likewise, you cannot produce fruit unless you abide in Me. etc. and then we have a little devotional/Bible discussion about that verse before getting the school day going. We are laying the foundation for their character development and Biblical identity in knowing who they are and to Whom they belong. Every yr I imagine we will change things here and there and add/subtract things to flex with us as we grow as a family. Do you start your school day with a morning basket, or family devotional? Until next time, Blessings and Shalom as you continue to "pursue the upward calling of God in Messiah Yeshua"-Phil 4:13 *side note DISCLAIMER: I do not receive compensation from ANY of the resources I share or use. They are just resources, curriculum, etc that have blessed our family and may bless yours!* Hello friends and readers, scattered family in Messiah!
I hope this post finds you well. I just wanted to cover this cool little theological moment with our youngest son, age 6. Reading Mark 3 about Yeshua healing starting with Him healing on Shabbat and discussing how it is permissible to "do good" on Shabbat... and continuing on to vs 10 "He had healed many, so that all those afflicted fell down before Him in order to touch Him" And our son asked, "Momma does Jesus heal bad people too?" I replied: Well we have to see what the Bible says about people, in general, to answer that. From what you understand do you think there are "good people" in God's sight? He looked confused.... So we skipped over to Romans 3 verse 10 and I asked him to read it to me: "There is no one righteous, no not one" I explained to him that the word righteous means: "there is no one good." So back to your question, "Does Jesus/Yeshua heal bad people too?" And he said, "yes" sounding a bit uncertain. I replied, "Yes, because the Bible teaches us that, "for ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" Rom 3:23 "There is no one righteous (good) no not one." Rom 3: 10 The only one GOOD is Yah/God our King and Creator. No one is good except One-- that is God.- LK 18: 19 TLV AMEN! Until next time: May Adonai bless and keep you as you: press on pursuing the goal for the reward of the upward calling of God in Messiah Yeshua. Phil 4:13 Hello scattered friends and family in Messiah! I hope each and every one of you is doing well. Many of you have known I am in school, with AAPC, some of you may not have known. I did recently mention in a previous post that I am : Working full-time, homeschooling 3 kiddos, the taxi to their sports, and troops activities, assisting with the back-end of a functioning ministry/church, leading a ladies Bible Study, and taking online CPT medical coding school at night + family and household duties as a wife/mommy it is a full schedule.... {although my husband is amazing he helps often and with what he can and the children do have assigned chores} This is temporary as well. So at long last I am taking the final class of my 1st planned CPT CPC medial coding certification! Just started this week! But why did I go back to school at all? Well, during the height of C*VID I nearly got fired from my job. I did obtain Prior Authorizations for chemotherapy/infusions, and general surgeries. But due to my personal medical choices had my job placed on the line. Later, this unfolded with the other options available such as religious exemption as pushback kicked into gear. Anyhow, after much discussion and prayer...my husband and I determined that it would be wise for me to look for a "skill set" that would:
The goal being that if when we so choose I can move to working part-time to focus more on the children, and homeschooling, them- while still maintaining my same pay rate because my skill set has increased, AND still work from home. By obtaining certification in this field it is not as disposable a position. Technically, yes any position can be disposed of. However, it does require education and a particular skill-set to replace so, it in that regard it is not as easy. All of that to say, this was not my pursuit of my career goals above my family. Actually quite the opposite, my ministry to my family is my first priority and responsibility. This opportunity, and education will allow me more time to be available to them working from home and eventually part-time instead of full-time. This new job I recently started is already willing to work with me once I am certified. As we wind down the kids' school yr with about 2 weeks left.... this is where the summer leads me. Heavily aimed on wrapping this up with the goal of not having as much on my plate next school yr 2022-2023 by completing this program and certification. No guarantees... but it's a goal. It's been a really challenging year in the making.... "Adonai- He is the one who goes before you. he will be with you. he will not fail you or abandon you. Do not fear or be discouraged"- Deut 31:8 TLV Until next time, Blessings and Shalom as you continue to "pursue the upward calling of God in Messiah Yeshua"-Phil 4:13 Well... hello scattered family and friends in Messiah! I hope the Spring Feasts have been a blessed time of rest and renewal for you and your loved ones, thus far, as we count down to Shavuot (Pentecost)
These are some updated pics of the little "garden babies" red potatoes, kale, green onions, and broccoli are in the green bags. The white buckets were just planted and hold: mini carrots, lettuce, Romaine lettuce, and Vidalia onions. All things that can tolerate these cooler temps. When the weather gets warmer we can broaden our horizons a bit! Those of you that have followed the blog for awhile know that I typically write a minimum of 2-3x a week and I have slowed down significantly recently due to my responsibilities with life and family have been changing/growing. I have a new job, the Spring Feasts came upon us, a final exam for school (Pathophysiology-), sports for the children, leading a ladies Bible Study for our church..... lots of things. My anxiety kicked in and I was really struggling. It was a: trying, tearful, prayerful, frustrating- "I feel like I'm drowning," kind of time. So I needed to get through it. With some TLC, prayer, serious intervention from some sisters in Messiah and a 1x1 with my husband and LOTS OF PRAYER we all kind of talked through some things... The husband and I came up with new plans on how to deal with these issues together, support each other, new communication skills, and most of all sat at the feet of our KING together. Is it all going to be smooth sailing from here? Not likely. *lol* But life never is. But my support system SUPPORTED. From here we (the husband and I) walk one foot in front of the other. I am going to let some things run the course and fall off of my shoulders until I get done with school as well. Working full-time, homeschooling 3 kiddos, sports, and troops, assisting with the back-end of a functioning ministry, leading Bible Study, taking online CPT medical coding school at night and running a household is a full schedule.... I may not be posting as often. I am not really on a "schedule" for that as of now. But I always enjoy touching base with all of you!! Until next time, Blessings and Shalom as you continue to "pursue the upward calling of God in Messiah Yeshua"-Phil 4:13 Work Ethic: Colossians 3:23 Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men. This lesson was instrumental with 2 of our children last week. But godly character traits are part of their education as we are "educating the whole child" as the parent instilling those values is part of my duties in raising them up in the: admonition, love, and service of Adonai. Educating the whole child is my job as the parent, however we have now an issue of schools going off the rails away from the core subjects into a boldly godless agenda teaching children things according to the world's standard. So our character trait focus last week was Work Ethic according to the Bible. "Do the best you can do as unto Adonai at all times" Colossians 3:23 Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men. I strongly encourage parents to take back the reigns on education for your children. It may require sacrifice and often does...But children are a heritage and blessing from Adonai. They are the future and we will be held to account for how we raised them as the Shema states: "And these words I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise..." Deut 6:4-7 Nothing in life of value comes easily. It requires work and sacrifice and homeschooling your children is no different. There are various reasons parents may choose not to...but I implore you to do whatever is within your control, and power to get them out of public schools. Until next time, Blessings and Shalom as you continue to "pursue the upward calling of God in Messiah Yeshua"-Phil 4:13 *side note DISCLAIMER: I do not receive compensation from ANY of the resources I share or use. Therefore encourage one another and build each other up—just as you in fact are doing. 1 Thess. 5:11 TLV Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable—if there is any virtue and if there is anything worthy of praise—dwell on these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—put these things into practice, and the God of shalom will be with you. Phil. 4:8-9 TLV Abba Yah is so awesome. Sunday evening my husband and I were talking about this very thing. We know our children better than anyone else...we know their strengths, and their weaknesses. While homeschooling we get the blessed opportunity to educate the WHOLE child not just the primary knowledge base subjects. We educate them spiritually, emotionally and challenge them to grow and mature in the Fruits of the Spirit. While we teach academics we also teach character development based on Biblical principles. We are able to live out the Shema to the best of our ability because we are educating our own children: Deut 6:4-7 TLV: “Hear O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love Adonai your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These words, which I am commanding you today, are to be on your heart. You are to teach them diligently to your children, and speak of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down and when you rise up. " If the children get frustrated they can: take a break, go on a walk, rest, pray with me, and re-coupe. We are mightily blessed in the opportunity to homeschool them and I wouldn't trade it for anything! HalleluYah! What a blessing. Until next time, Blessings and Shalom as you continue to "pursue the upward calling of God in Messiah Yeshua"-Phil 4:13 *side note DISCLAIMER: I do not receive compensation from ANY of the resources I share or use.
