Hello friends and readers, scattered family in Messiah!
I hope this post finds you well. I just wanted to cover this cool little theological moment with our youngest son, age 6. Reading Mark 3 about Yeshua healing starting with Him healing on Shabbat and discussing how it is permissible to "do good" on Shabbat... and continuing on to vs 10 "He had healed many, so that all those afflicted fell down before Him in order to touch Him" And our son asked, "Momma does Jesus heal bad people too?" I replied: Well we have to see what the Bible says about people, in general, to answer that. From what you understand do you think there are "good people" in God's sight? He looked confused.... So we skipped over to Romans 3 verse 10 and I asked him to read it to me: "There is no one righteous, no not one" I explained to him that the word righteous means: "there is no one good." So back to your question, "Does Jesus/Yeshua heal bad people too?" And he said, "yes" sounding a bit uncertain. I replied, "Yes, because the Bible teaches us that, "for ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" Rom 3:23 "There is no one righteous (good) no not one." Rom 3: 10 The only one GOOD is Yah/God our King and Creator. No one is good except One-- that is God.- LK 18: 19 TLV AMEN! Until next time: May Adonai bless and keep you as you: press on pursuing the goal for the reward of the upward calling of God in Messiah Yeshua. Phil 4:13 Hello friends and readers! I hope you are well. I just recently got my "grade book" ready for 2022-2023!
We have had our curriculum books for a long time because I order them well in advance. But they are out on the shelf now. I use an app called Grade Pal to keep track of grades that is available for free in the Google Play Store. It calculates the percentages for me and I pair it to the grade scale that we use. Our Grade Scale is as follows: 97-100 =A+ 93-96 = A 90-92= A- 87-89 = B+ 83-86= B 80-82= B- 77-79= C+ 73-76= C 70-72= C- The kids never get below a "C" though because if we observe that they are struggling and missing points they will lose points on the assignment, of course. But we will stop where they are and focus on "practice assignments" typically through IXL. Until they grasp it, understand, and become comfortable with that topic. Here is a blog post about that "pause and practice approach" Math Level 4 and Long Division - Pursuing the upward call of God in Messiah Yeshua- Phil 3:14 Homeschooling has given us the ability to help teach our children coping mechanisms for the tough times. You press forward, you got this, and it's ok if it's hard. Our kids do not get left behind as a class pushes ahead. When they struggle we meet them where they are and work through it until it makes sense to them and THEN we move on. Anyhow come August 1st we are ready to roll into 2nd, 4th, and 5th grade!! YAY! Blessings and Shalom as you continue to "pursue the upward calling of God in Messiah Yeshua"-Phil 4:13 *side note DISCLAIMER: I do not receive compensation from ANY of the resources I share or use.
