Hello friends and readers! This wk for Shabbat our lesson from Trained up in Torah can be found here: The Offering- Sabbath School Lesson - YouTube from Gen. 22 Abraham was asked to give up someone very important to him...but in the end YHWH made provision for him with a ram in the thicket/bush. Supplies needed were: paper plate to make the body, cotton balls, construction paper, glue, and the wiggly eyes. Every wk we watch a lesson here and do a craft. Sometimes the craft is from Trained up in Torah- other times I come up with one, or the kids use one from their Shabbat book which can be found here: The Sabbath Activity Book: Adventures, Bible Pathway, Reid, Pip: 9781989961438: Amazon.com: Books All in all it is a blessed time set apart unto YHWH for: learning, worship, family time, and rest. These are some ideas from our Shabbat School activities for our kiddos..... What do you do with your kids? Feel free to leave a comment, ideas etc. Blessings and Shalom as you continue to "pursue the upward calling of God in Messiah Yeshua"-Phil 4:13 *side note DISCLAIMER: I do not receive compensation from ANY of the resources I share or use. We had a cookie day recently with our church family and children! This was an incredibly messy and fun endeavor! :)
Be blessed in Messiah Yeshua friends, as we approach this festive time of remembrance! Hi everyone! Things like this get me all excited! Check it out.... BOOKS!! I stumbled upon these quite by accident but I am, so happy I did. So far I have purchased The Sabbath activity book 1 for each child. I plan to purchase at least The Spring, and Fall Feasts as well as we roll into the Appointed Times for each. They have a "store" on Amazon where you can look at the complete selection available. click here: Amazon.com : bible pathway adventures But every week for Shabbat the kids watch an episode of Trained Up In Torah - YouTube and do the accompanying craft. If it is not a craft I want to do or do not have the materials for I typically search pinterest for ideas. However this is just another option for Shabbat School on Saturday mornings....with coloring, crossword puzzles, crafts, fill in the blank worksheets and more. I for one am excited to integrate these books into our learning both for homeschool and church! Be blessed as you "pursue the upward call of God in Messiah Yeshua"- Phil 4:13 TLV *side note DISCLAIMER: I do not receive compensation from ANY of the resources I share or use. They are just resources, curriculum, etc that have blessed our family and may bless yours!* Hello friends and scattered family! If you are a regular reader you know that our family uses Masterbooks curriculum for core and elective subjects and we love them! (except ASL because their curriculum for that has not released yet but is in the works I hear....so I teach the kids myself with the help of Bill Vicar and his YouTube channel: (11) Learn Sign Language: Lesson 01 (ASL) - YouTube)
However, we utilize, IXL | Math, Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, and Spanish for Math, and Language arts presently. You can select which subjects and plan works for you. Someday we will likely add Spanish to the mix but for now our focus is on Sign Language (ASL) So above are 2 pictures the 1st grade one belongs to our son and it is his language arts awards. He has earned "various keychains" for completing skills and activities. The other one is our daughter's in 4th grade she also has earned various awards. I put those pictures up because it gives you a breakdown. The kids look forward to IXL activities because it is like a game to them. On the educational side though it is getting them accustomed to using a computer and some of the basic skills that come with that, as well as, following directions, persistence, and educational support where needed for extra practice in areas of struggle or new concepts. For us this combination has worked really nice. But each family will have to figure out what works for them. Our 4th grader usually has 2 IXL assignments per week they are on a white board in our kitchen and she knows she is responsible for working them into her week when she has the time. It is a small way of giving her independence and teaching her to be accountable with her time. IXL also grades the assignments so I can go in when they are completed and get the scores and put in it my grade keeper app. Last week our daughter did an action verbs assignment and earned 30/32 questions. So I record it and we keep moving. Our 1st grader has IXL assignments at random as needed or desired. :) All in all though it really helps make our curriculum a smooth educational process for the kids because they have those extra practice assignments available and it's stress free on me to log them in. That's it for today! Be blessed in Yeshua Messiah everyone! |
