Work Ethic: Colossians 3:23 Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men. This lesson was instrumental with 2 of our children last week. But godly character traits are part of their education as we are "educating the whole child" as the parent instilling those values is part of my duties in raising them up in the: admonition, love, and service of Adonai. Educating the whole child is my job as the parent, however we have now an issue of schools going off the rails away from the core subjects into a boldly godless agenda teaching children things according to the world's standard. So our character trait focus last week was Work Ethic according to the Bible. "Do the best you can do as unto Adonai at all times" Colossians 3:23 Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men. I strongly encourage parents to take back the reigns on education for your children. It may require sacrifice and often does...But children are a heritage and blessing from Adonai. They are the future and we will be held to account for how we raised them as the Shema states: "And these words I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise..." Deut 6:4-7 Nothing in life of value comes easily. It requires work and sacrifice and homeschooling your children is no different. There are various reasons parents may choose not to...but I implore you to do whatever is within your control, and power to get them out of public schools. Hello, I am, age 9 and in 4th grade! My mom asked me to write a post for you all about what I think about homeschool. I enjoy homeschooling. Sometimes we get to do crafts and I like the flexibility. I love the fact that I get to pick some of my subjects. So let's start with the things I like:
So, hello everyone, I am in 1st grade. I have been reading good and it's pretty fun. What is the best thing I like is Language and Math. I can count by: 2's, 5's, and 10's! We have done lots of crafts. One of my favorite crafts was the oreo/moon craft we did. I think you should do it too. My mom is very sweet and she buys us good things. When she does something wrong she repents to us and God. She teaches us the Bible and how to live. I am very blessed and you are too! I like that I can help pick out some of my classes. I get to do IXL and earn rewards and badges. I get to spend time with my parents and my sister plays with me and she is the best sister! I have lots of building toys and that's it. Until next time, Blessings and Shalom as you continue to "pursue the upward calling of God in Messiah Yeshua"-Phil 4:13 Learning about the cycles of the moon
Homeschool fun! Masterbooks, Adventures in Creation level 1 The kids knew this lesson was coming up and they were both excited. Z will have this lesson in her Science book "God's Design for Life: Heaven & Earth" a bit later but this is something she participated in as well and had fun. After the lesson they had a yummy snack! *side note DISCLAIMER: I do not receive compensation from ANY of the resources I share or use. Therefore encourage one another and build each other up—just as you in fact are doing. 1 Thess. 5:11 TLV Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable—if there is any virtue and if there is anything worthy of praise—dwell on these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—put these things into practice, and the God of shalom will be with you. Phil. 4:8-9 TLV Abba Yah is so awesome. Sunday evening my husband and I were talking about this very thing. We know our children better than anyone else...we know their strengths, and their weaknesses. While homeschooling we get the blessed opportunity to educate the WHOLE child not just the primary knowledge base subjects. We educate them spiritually, emotionally and challenge them to grow and mature in the Fruits of the Spirit. While we teach academics we also teach character development based on Biblical principles. We are able to live out the Shema to the best of our ability because we are educating our own children: Deut 6:4-7 TLV: “Hear O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love Adonai your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These words, which I am commanding you today, are to be on your heart. You are to teach them diligently to your children, and speak of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down and when you rise up. " If the children get frustrated they can: take a break, go on a walk, rest, pray with me, and re-coupe. We are mightily blessed in the opportunity to homeschool them and I wouldn't trade it for anything! HalleluYah! What a blessing. (pardon the clutter on the table) This is nothing big just a fun and easy little treat. Serves, several purposes: measuring, learning how to use kitchen tools, independence, healthy treat, & fun! It's just a simple fruit smoothie made with: crushed ice, frozen berries, either vanilla ice cream or milk---blend it altogether and pour in cups to drink or in popsicle molds for a frozen desert. :) ENJOY! Until next time: May Adonai bless and keep you as you: press on pursuing the goal for the reward of the upward calling of God in Messiah Yeshua. Phil 4:13 |
