Hello friends and readers! I hope you all are doing well. We have come to the last week of school! The kids are excited, I am excited --- we are all ready for a break :) We encourage the kids to spend a lot of time outdoors in the spring and summer (electronics are definitely limited).... Right now they did just start spring sports Baseball for 2 of them and Soccer for the other. Summer break will be spent at Grandma and Grandpa's house. They will have a small pool set up in the back yard about 3 ft deep and 12 ft across and a swing set. Grandpa makes sure they get plenty of exercise with regular: 5-7 mile bike rides, roller blading excursions, walks, hikes, tag, hid & seek etc. On the weekends we do sometimes fill in family time with visits to a local water park or park/playground as well. With the occasional family vacation as well. Plenty of: sun, fun, popsicles, friends, family, and memories. We try to keep things simple. Hopefully, all of these summers spent with grandma and grandpa will be memories the kids will cherish as they get older and recall with fondness and love. Do you have any plans for your kiddos this summer to keep them occupied? What do you and your family do to keep busy and make memories? Until next time, Blessings and Shalom as you continue to "pursue the upward calling of God in Messiah Yeshua"-Phil 4:13 Hello friends and readers! This is one I am excited about, taking back our living room!
Now each of the kids has a "school bin" that goes under the table that the TV sits on with their school books, and supplies in it they can pull out what they need for the day and slide it right back under the table neatly again. They now each have a foldable lap desk as well. Eventually the 2 desks in the living room will be gone and the TV will be hung on the wall. The table will then be where I place their binders and assigned work for each day, ready to go! They are using the bins and foldable desks now but some of the changes will be ready for next school yr. We have about 2 weeks left of our school yr. So we can use the upcoming summer break to wind down and get the living room in order, de-cluttered, and ready for August! Organization makes me happy y'all!
Until next time, Blessings and Shalom as you continue to "pursue the upward calling of God in Messiah Yeshua"-Phil 4:13 Hello scattered friends and family in Messiah! I hope each and every one of you is doing well. Many of you have known I am in school, with AAPC, some of you may not have known. I did recently mention in a previous post that I am : Working full-time, homeschooling 3 kiddos, the taxi to their sports, and troops activities, assisting with the back-end of a functioning ministry/church, leading a ladies Bible Study, and taking online CPT medical coding school at night + family and household duties as a wife/mommy it is a full schedule.... {although my husband is amazing he helps often and with what he can and the children do have assigned chores} This is temporary as well. So at long last I am taking the final class of my 1st planned CPT CPC medial coding certification! Just started this week! But why did I go back to school at all? Well, during the height of C*VID I nearly got fired from my job. I did obtain Prior Authorizations for chemotherapy/infusions, and general surgeries. But due to my personal medical choices had my job placed on the line. Later, this unfolded with the other options available such as religious exemption as pushback kicked into gear. Anyhow, after much discussion and prayer...my husband and I determined that it would be wise for me to look for a "skill set" that would:
The goal being that if when we so choose I can move to working part-time to focus more on the children, and homeschooling, them- while still maintaining my same pay rate because my skill set has increased, AND still work from home. By obtaining certification in this field it is not as disposable a position. Technically, yes any position can be disposed of. However, it does require education and a particular skill-set to replace so, it in that regard it is not as easy. All of that to say, this was not my pursuit of my career goals above my family. Actually quite the opposite, my ministry to my family is my first priority and responsibility. This opportunity, and education will allow me more time to be available to them working from home and eventually part-time instead of full-time. This new job I recently started is already willing to work with me once I am certified. As we wind down the kids' school yr with about 2 weeks left.... this is where the summer leads me. Heavily aimed on wrapping this up with the goal of not having as much on my plate next school yr 2022-2023 by completing this program and certification. No guarantees... but it's a goal. It's been a really challenging year in the making.... "Adonai- He is the one who goes before you. he will be with you. he will not fail you or abandon you. Do not fear or be discouraged"- Deut 31:8 TLV Until next time, Blessings and Shalom as you continue to "pursue the upward calling of God in Messiah Yeshua"-Phil 4:13 Source: Masterbooks, More Than Words Level 1 and 2
Image 1: CHARACTER FOCUS: ATTENTIVE: scripture ref: Prov. 4:20 -27 TLV My son, pay attention to my words-- incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them out of you sight keep them within your heart. For they are life to those who find them and health to their body. Guard your heart diligently for from it flow the springs of life. Put away perversity from your mouth, and keep devious lips far from you. Let your eyes look directly ahead, and fix your gaze straight in front of you. Clear a level path for your feet, so all your ways will be firm. Do not turn to the right or to the left. Divert your foot from evil. Image 2: CHARACTER FOCUS: HELPFUL: scripture ref: Phil 2:3:3-4 TLV Do nothing out of selfishness or conceit, but with humility consider others as more important than yourselves, looking out not only for your own interests but also for the interests of others. Educating the whole child : We love these blessed little moments in our curriculum to teach: behaviors, and character lessons that help our children to be mindful of others and also their reflection of Messiah. Because there is more to education than the core subjects: language, science, math, history etc. "All Scripture is inspired by God and useful for teaching, for reproof, for restoration, and for training in righteousness, so that the person belonging to God may be capable, fully equipped for every good deed." 2 Tim 3:16 TLV AMEN! I strongly encourage parents to take back the reigns on education for your children. It may require sacrifice and often does...But children are a heritage and blessing from Adonai. They are the future and we will be held to account for how we raised them as the Shema states: "And these words I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise..." Deut 6:4-7 Nothing in life of value comes easily. It requires work and sacrifice and homeschooling your children is no different. There are various reasons parents may choose not to...but I implore you to do whatever is within your control, and power to get them out of public schools.
