Hello scattered friends and family in Messiah! We utilize Masterbooks for all book work and this paper to the left comes from Language Lessons for a Living Education, level 3. Masterbooks is a non-denominational curriculum. But as we all know Shabbat and the Feast Days are in the Bible with specific instructions. This post is really just to take a moment and appreciate the curriculum for having these things woven in at the appropriate time of year so that as: Whole Bible Observant believers, Shabbat, and Feast keepers we can have these beautiful and easy to understand lessons to teach our children! The picture below is from Language Lessons for a Living Education, level 5. Blessings for you and your family as you begin to prep for Passover, ULB, and First Fruits! Hello scattered family and friends in Messiah! I hope you all are doing well.
This was just a fun little craft for Tabernacles/Sukkot. (not a school craft, a family activity) The children had fun creating their little "tabernacles" and helping to decorate our family/church one as well. "Leviticus 23 is about the Feast of Tabernacles.--a tabernacle is a temporary place to live. it is like a tent except it is made from wood or branches. ---the first and eighth day of this feast is a Sabbath" "Jesus (Yeshua) was born during this feast week. Jesus (Yeshua) celebrated the Feast of tabernacles, and Zechariah 14:16 says that someday, all nations will celebrate the feast!" Anyone new to the Feast of Tabernacles, also known as Sukkot. Here is a simple explanation of it; It's a rehearsal for a future event where Yeshua will Tabernacle with us again, which simply means be with us.
The tent idea is a reminder we are in temporary dwelling places until we get to be with Yah permanently in the New Jerusalem, that will come down to earth. It also symbolizes the time when the Israelites were able to escape their slavery from the Egyptians and had to live in tents for 40 years. Its also a metaphor of how we escape and come out of the things of this World! Coming out of the traditions and the ways of man and religion. We hence Cross Over or Pass Over from the things of this World into the things and Ways of YHWH! This is where the word Hebrew comes from, one who has passed or crossed over! A quick google search can give you all kinds of ideas for how to decorate your own Sukkah or purchase one for future celebration. The intent and motives of the heart are known by Yah and may He be with you. HalleluYah!! Do Bible things in Bible ways.... YHWH's ways. Follow the footsteps of the Master and KING. RELATED READING:

Well, Yom Kippur/Day of Atonement is nearly upon us! Sunday sunset to Monday sunset. For Shabbat School our lesson for the kids was from Trained up in Torah (HERE: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ht_Qu7WcBx0&t=2941s) and the pages above are from Bible Pathway Adventures Fall Feast Activity book. The two combined made a fun and educational lesson for the kids! Yom Kippur is also known as the Day of Atonement, it is the holiest day of the year. Its central themes are atonement and repentance. It's traditionally observed with a period of fasting and intensive prayer, often spending most of the day in services. {*the 10 days between The Feast of Trumpets and Atonement are often referred to as "the days of awe" for this internal inspection/repentance period} Yom Kippur is the memorial of the cost of humanity’s redemption. Yeshua, as our High Priest, secures our atonement through His death, resurrection, and ascension, giving us the opportunity to repent "teshuvah" for forgiveness, relationship, and obedience to be written in the Lamb's Book of Life. He lives and intercedes for us forever! This is acknowledged as a day of intercession, repentance/fasting. (LEV 16:29-34) This shall be an everlasting statute.... our Atonement was made in Yeshua Messiah, Amen! We can be filled with joy and reflection of who we are in Messiah. And the remnant both ethnic and grafted in believers of Israel still to be saved. Therefore, since we have a great Kohen Gadol (High Priest) who has passed through the heavens, Yeshua Ben-Elohim, let us hold firmly to our confessed allegiance. For we do not have a kohen gadol (High Priest) who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all the same ways—yet without sin. Therefore let us draw near to the throne of grace with boldness, so that we may receive mercy and find grace for help in time of need. Hebrews 4:14-16 Psalm 110:4 proclaims that the Messiah would be a priest according to the order of Melchizedek. The book of Hebrews compares Yeshua to Melchizedek who had “no beginning of days nor end of life, but, made like Ben-Elohim [the Son of God], He remains a kohen [priest] for all time” (Hebrews 7:3). Because Yeshua lives eternally, His priesthood never ends; He is a priest forever. (See Genesis 14:18–20, Hebrews 7.) The priest was a mediator, one who goes before YHWH representing the people. For there is one God and there is one Mediator between God and men—a human, Messiah Yeshua, who gave Himself as a ransom for al—the testimony at the proper time. 1 Tim 2:5 On the Day of Atonement, the High Priest brought the blood of bulls and goats into the Temple, sprinkling it on the Mercy Seat in the Holy of Holies to cover Israel’s sin. Yeshua brought His own blood. Through His sacrifice, offering Himself without blemish, He obtained eternal redemption for us. He did this once and for all. (See Hebrews 7:27, 9:12–13, 26-28, 10:2, 10. He understands our weaknesses and offers His compassion. Those who have placed their trust in Him may approach His holiness and receive grace and mercy in times of need. (See Hebrews 4:15–16 and 7:26–28.) When He entered into the heavenly Holy of Holies with His own blood, Yeshua brought about the new covenant prophesied in Jeremiah 31:31–33. He enabled Yah's Law to be placed in our hearts and His Holy Spirit to dwell inside us. YHWH dwells in those who have placed their faith in Yeshua. Obedience to Torah (ie: His Law) is the sanctification/fruit of our salvation as we become more and more like Yeshua through continuance of guarding and living the Torah. We can enter His presence boldly without fear of condemnation. (See Hebrews 8:7–12, Ephesians 1:13, 1 Corinthians 6:19–20, Hebrews 4:16, Romans 8:1, 15.) Moreover I will give you a new heart. I will put a new spirit within you. I will remove the stony heart from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Ruach within you. Then I will cause you to walk in My laws, so you will keep My rulings and do them. Ezek 36:26-27 The one who says, “I have come to know Him,” and does not keep His commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoever keeps His word, in him the love of God is truly made perfect. We know that we are in Him by this— whoever claims to abide in Him must walk just as He walked. 1 JN 2: 4-6 May your observance be blessed in reflection and repentance. Wow, friends, I just need to exhale... do you ever feel that way? The past 6 weeks or so illness has swept through our family; wave after wave. From me taking about 2 weeks to recover and then 1 child, then another... Nothing unmanageable: low grade fevers, cough, congestion...and 1 instance of throwing up from a forceful bout of coughing.... We went to our family dr whom we love. She is primarily holistic in approach and advised what I had thought in the 1st place... time, and rest. Our school day typically starts around 8am. But, one of the blessings of homeschool is THAT flexibility. So the 2 that are sick have been able to sleep until they wake on their own which has been between 9am-10am. Our youngest was doing letter practice work about 2 days ago...and I said, "You look tired, you want to lay down and take a nap for a bit?" He said: "No, I'm fine...." I turned back to check on him and he was asleep. I covered him up and he just took about an hr nap. The "schedule" went out the window. We did school when they felt ok to do it. Some things got pushed to a different day, naps happened as needed, breaks abounded etc. This may not be a big deal to you....but for my personality learning to love flexibility is a learning curve. I can struggle with being regimented even when it's not needed. Because, I function best in an environment of "order." But YHWH is using this homeschool blessing to even teach me it's ok to "let go," embrace the freedom and love the children in their rest and through the tides of life as it ebbs and flows "out of order." This blessing is one I certainly do not take lightly. They would have no such liberty in a standard school setting public or private. This is the blessing of homeschooling them as YHWH has directed/convicted us. Among many benefits we have experienced.... As we roll into Yom Teruah/The Feast of Trumpets & Shabbat we are going to wade into that rest and simply enjoy the: time, celebration, memories, and rejuvenation. How are you with structure and flexibility in: life, relationships, or homeschool? For those who will be celebrating: HAPPY FEAST OF TRUMPETS/YOM TERUAH!!!! Until next time: May Adonai bless and keep you as you: press on pursuing the goal for the reward of the upward calling of God in Messiah Yeshua. Phil 4:13 *side note DISCLAIMER: I do not receive compensation from ANY of the resources I share or use. They are just resources, curriculum, etc that have blessed our family and may bless yours!* Hello friends and scattered family in Messiah! Wow, what an exciting time! We are getting festive in mood and decorations around the house. Our fellowship, family and, children will certainly enjoy this time together as we prep for The Feast of Trumpets this upcoming weekend! So much happened this past weekend and I have a ton of photos to upload for blog posts. BUT, Masterbooks, never fails to excite me every year with the timing of the Fall Feasts information in the curriculum right on time. So the examples you see above are from Masterbooks Language Lessons for a Living Education levels 3, and 5. (for 3rd and 5th grade respectively) These are for our 2 boys tomorrow! These examples ^^^^^^ are from Bible Pathway Adventures Fall Feast book. We use Bible Pathway books for Shabbat kids' lessons (for church) These pages were completed this past Shabbat 9/9/23. Scripture is incorporated into the very fabric of our lives. From: how we live, how we resolve conflict, how we discipline, how we educate, and how we as parents aim to honor YHWH in obedience to the Shema command.
It is not a few hours a day once a wk. Our culture is Bible Culture, which is YHWH's culture. Our Holy Days are His Holy Days, the Appointed Times/Moedim given as a "sign" of His covenant with His people. We live in this country and this world but we are not of it. We have crossed over and been grafted into the people of Yah, we are Hebrew. We are ambassadors here on a mission for our KING. HalleluYAH! The Day of Blowing / Trumpets — points to when the Messiah will appear in the heavens as a Bridegroom coming for His bride, the ekklesia -both native and grafted in belivers-. (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 1 Corinthians 15:52) Masterbooks, our foundation curriculum also incorporates the Feasts into the Language curriculum which is a blessing. 2023: sunset 9/15-sunset 9/16 We annually celebrate in faith and hope the 'practice announcement, until He comes. It is a joyous occasion! In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you are to have a Shabbat rest, a memorial of blowing (shofar), a holy convocation. You are to do no regular work, and you are to present an offering made by fire to Adonai. (Leviticus 23:24-25 ) By His will we have been made holy through the offering of the body of Messiah Yeshua once for all. Indeed, every kohen stands day by day serving and offering the same sacrifices again and again, which can never take away sins. >>But on the other hand, when this One offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, He sat down at the right hand of God<< Hebrews 10:10-12 TLV

HalleluYah! Until next time: May Adonai bless and keep you as you: press on pursuing the goal for the reward of the upward calling of God in Messiah Yeshua. Phil 4:13 Hello friends and scattered family in Messiah!
This post is really about how to keep your kiddos involved and having age appropriate fun. I just had a conversation with a friend about this yesterday about how we want to have activities each year that are: warm, fun, and memorable for the kids. So when they are older they can look back in fondness and with love at the time shared with family around Yah's Feast days. One thing that we do with our family and children is go through our Bible Pathway Adventures Spring Feast book and complete some of the activities that teach about: Passover, ULB, First Fruits, and Shavuot (Pentecost). The kids always enjoy those and there are crafts in the back of the book! For Passover every yr we schedule a family and friends movie night to watch The Prince of Egypt . This is an event for fellowship with our friends who may not observe the Feasts in a way to share with them that is casual fun. But anyhow we make a big deal about decorating the house like a movie theatre, we make a special trip to the store where the kids can grab their favorite candy, chips, and drinks and we countdown to movie night to build anticipation. For First Fruits the kids watch: , God with Us, (an animated movie about the life, death, burial, and resurrection of Yeshua) complete activities in the Bible Pathway Adventures Spring Feast book, dress up nice and go visit the grandparents for fun and pictures in the evening. Likewise, for Shavuot (Pentecost) we watch The Messengers about the book of Acts and complete some pages out of: Bible Pathway Adventures Spring Feast book. For Shavuot, in the past, we have sometimes created a paper ring chain out of construction paper to count the Omer 50 days. The kids can tear a ring of paper off each day. For ULB there are also lots of Matzah crafts you can do or recipes you can create to make that fun as well. (Pinterest for ideas) Regardless, we want to be diligent about following the command to: "teach them diligently to your children and speak of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down and when you rise up." Deut 6:7 TLV (referencing the commands of Yah, these are HIS commanded Feast days) It is our job to teach our children the truth. "These are the appointed moadim of Adonai, which you are to proclaim to be holy convocations--My moadim" Lev 23:2 TLV And of course, on any Feast Day, the kids are free to blow their shofars in the back yard typically and they always love that opportunity and see it as a high privilege. How do you celebrate with your kiddos? Feel free to leave a comment! We use these books for lessons :

I hope you all are doing well! So let's chat about this.... every yr we open our home to church fam and friends for a viewing of The Prince of Egypt in preparation for Passover. The kids look forward to this annually. We have also created some stick characters for when we read the Exodus story the kids can raise the corresponding stick to what is going on in the story (this came from Torah Sisters) which you can find here: Ten Plagues Craft Printable – Torah Sisters Anyhow, I took the kids on Monday evening to go pick out some candy and chips to accompany the movie and they are soooo excited for Friday! We watch the movie with everyone...then on Shabbat for their Bible lessons we review the facts of the Exodus and also the application with Yeshua Messiah. I have shared previously that we use Bible Pathway Adventures books regularly for Shabbat lessons because they have several books you can purchase. However, for the Spring and Fall Feasts, we use these books for lessons (pictured below):
